While we are on this topic - I've got a Spam question that maybe one of your coputer Gurus can help me out with here... Do the "Unsubscribe" links on Spam ever really work? Is it wise to try to use those, or will they just send you more spam... I've been Unsubscribing to almost all the spam I get, and It just keeps-a coming - am I shooting myself in the foot here? =========Shaun ==========

I think that changing names is more symbolic than anything - and frankly I think that it's a very important part of marriage. I don't care who takes whos name - The idea behind marriage (amoung other things...IMHO) is bringing together two people to form a [new] family. I don't know about you all, but for me, unity of the family is a big deal. Uniting a family under a common name (The Smiths, the Johnsons) is symbolic of the whole two people becoming one. Aggie, I can't congratulate you enough on your engagement. The more you talk about Morgan on these threads, the more I realize how lucky you are... =========Shaun ==========

Boy Scouts of America and Religous Discrimination
Unstable replied to Unstable's topic in Speakers Corner
This point comes up in about 75% of all Speakers Corner Threads; I agree completely, it's absolutely shameful. =========Shaun ========== -
I think we've all learned this the hard way at one time or another in our youth. It takes wisdom to write that and the 10 points from Lany. =========Shaun ==========

Boy Scouts of America and Religous Discrimination

See, Maybe I'm just not understanding how the ACLU has turned this line and the "Reverent" in the Law into their logic of the BSA forcing Judeo-Christian Beliefs upon poor, helpless Scouts. Yes, the require you to Acknowledge a higher power, but in all fairness, one could acknowlege "Nature" as a higher power. Doesn't ACLU Stand for Anti-Christ Lawyers Union? =========Shaun ========== -
Number Six & Number Two have been Copied to Yellow Sticky notes to stay on my Desktop. Very good, thank you, Lany. =========Shaun ==========

Fahrenheit 9/11, or why Mr. Bush has won the elections…
Unstable replied to Mikki_ZH's topic in Speakers Corner
Look, Many of us, Myself included, Voted for Bush as a Lesser of two evils. I'm not terribly happy with him, but I'd rather he be in offce than Kerry... Fortunatly, most of the United States Also Feels this way. The "Documentary" Fahrenheit 9/11 is a Joke. It is fiction, carefully planned to lead one to think a particular way without libel or slander. His numbers and reasoning are beyond acceptable for Journalism. =========Shaun ========== -
Alright, I don't give a rats-behind about Trolls or Troll-Accusations. We should call this time-period in Dropzone History "The Great Troll Trials of 2004" Yes, It is a neat to see these 14 characteristics of Fascism and look back upon history and see the progress (or DE-progress) of these military States. I'm a big history buff, and it gives me something to think about.. The word was spread in this thread that you had some agenda... I don't see any agenda here (but maybe I'm just dense..). If you are hinting anything more than "These are the characteristics of Fascism", then I fear you may dig yourself into a hole awfully quick, my friend... Good post though - something to look at and think about..

Boy Scouts of America and Religous Discrimination
Unstable replied to Unstable's topic in Speakers Corner
I have been both an Eagle Scout and a Scout Leader in an LDS-sponsored Troop. Boy Scouting is a BIG thing to the Latter-Day Saints, and it is almost as much a part of growing up for them as is Going to Church. I was around in 1999 when the Supream Court knocked the first blow to the BSA, and there was the feeling in the air that if this continued, the Church would move away from Scouting. As a Matter-of-Fact, right about the time I got my Eagle, The LDS church introduced a new program for the Young men/Young Women which looked like it might serve as a Replacement. Well, the Rumors have been circulating for some time the Church in Salt Lake City may not include Scouting for too much longer... But then again, this is all Rumors... =========Shaun ========== -
Boy Scouts of America and Religous Discrimination
Unstable replied to Unstable's topic in Speakers Corner
From the Fox News Network.... Clicky I've seen this thrown around here in the Speakers Corner before, but this resolve from the Pentagon, I fear, Is more serious than many of us percieve it to be. In many Communities like the One I grew Up in, The Boy Scouts of America do more for the Community and for the youth than can possibly be expressed in words. Whether it be activating Childrens minds, expanding their horizions, offering Constructive activities, or simply bettering one's self and Community, the BSA is an Integral part of almost every community. Now that the Pentagon has barganed with the ACLU, what next - will the ACLU push this same crap on Public School that Sponsor Scout Troops or even offer the use of public facilities? IMHO, this entire thing is wrong on almost every level.... I don't know if I should be more Angry at the ACLU's gross Misinterperatation of Scouting oaths and Values, or the sheer and selfish negalance of the ACLU when the act without thinking of the impact these things may have on other Communities. =========Shaun ========== -
How about from me?!? (it was worth a try....) =========Shaun ==========
