  1. Just curious what role skydiving plays in other lives. I understand that there may not be a perfect answer for you. Choose the one that BEST fits.
  2. I've lived in the south my whole life, I think my blood has thinned! Oh I know. It works both ways too. I came to work without a jacket on last week when the temp got to 42. Plus, I was in southern GA for a few years in the Army and remember thinking I was freezing when it got to be 50.
  3. Mid 50's??!! You're killin' me! I would die for some mid 50's weather!
  4. The lines they use on a a crossbraced canopy, like vectran on my Velo, are designed so that they do not stretch/shrink and go out of trim. A crossbraced canopy even a little out of trim is a much bigger deal than most. Problem is, these lines won't last as long because of these properties. Vectran won't go out of trim to let you know they need to be replaced, they will just break. So, it is recommended that you reline much sooner, like 400-600 jumps. Although, it is not uncommon for people to get many jumps more out of them. I personally relined my Velocity last time at about 400 jumps, but that was more because I didn't want to start a new season from that point and go til they had 700 or so on them. You can't replace them too soon, but you can certainly wait too long.
  5. Oh man, if we had temps like that here, we would be jumping all day and saying how warm it was.

    Finding Emho

Do we know if he made it to Florida?
  7. Ah man! I thought you would be coming for sure! Well, I hope somehow you make it out. It would be great to see you again and get our jump!
  8. You got it! It's winter. It's cold. No jumping. Lack of sleep. Nothing to do at work. All this can make a guy a bit jumpy. As for the new baby and what comes with that.... I wouldn't trade it for the world! Guess you guys will just have to put up with it for a couple more months until it warms up!
  9. I take a big dump on all of you! Except Vanillaskygirl. I just can't see doing that to her. But the rest of you....well.... Ok, so I can't see doing that on anyone. Wait... there is one... maybe two... No! No one! I love everyone!!!!! I love you all!!!!
  10. Well, since others have posted stuff on their walls and I am bored, here are the things on my office walls. 1- Picture given to me by the original Sugar Gliderz, Melissa, Jen and Amy. Love that picture! 2- Picture of a 3way HD with me, Amy C. and PJ. Picture of me doing video for Fritz at Bridge Day. 3- Dalmatian calendar. 4- Some framed stuff from my Army uniform and a couple race numbers from races I am proud of. Like I said, I am bored.
  11. You'd make a much nicer frog! You know, because you have great skin....I mean.... errr... a good personality...ummmm...
  12. but you give good hugs, so it all works out. Yeah, and it's been like forever since I have had one! Think you can spare one at Dublin for me, Kitty?
  13. Well, if this is really the case, I stand corrected. I have personally not seen this in my 12 years in skydiving the way you paint the picture, but I could be blind to it I guess. So, "most" men in skydiving blatantly disrespect women in our sport and take adavtage of them to the point of needing the buddy system? And "most" men in skydiving are not polite or nice? Guess I can feel lucky to be one of the "exceptions to the rule." Although maybe I am not now, since I am being a drama queen about this.
  14. Ok, nevermind. You obviously refuse to see the point that it had nothing to do with you complimenting someone. And no, they won't see it because YOU deleted it.
  15. Actually, it had NOTHING to do with that at all. It was that you said it is a rare trait for men in skydiving. So you DID include everyone else.
  16. Just felt as though I WAS grouped in with that comment. Lisamarie has PM'd me to assure me that I was not and she didn't mean it the way it sounded, and I totally believe her. Yup, no biggie. I just try to be kind and respectful and feel that, as a whole, MOST guys in this sport do as well. I am not denying that there ae some real scumbags out there, or that I am even guilty now and again for slipping up, but to say that it is a rare trait to find a nice guy in this sport, I think is a little broad. My post was not really even directed AT you, Lisa Marie, as much as it was just to say, "Hey, I am a nice guy!"
  17. Happy Birthday! You don't look a day over 40!
  18. *** Do you KNOW anything about Heinz Ward and his family? or are you just poking fun at a guy that was never supposed to make it in football at the college OR pro level....being excited at being recognized as the best in the game on the games best day? You are right. Poor, poor million dollar football player, with the big house and brand new Cadillac, who never learned to speak correctly. And I never stopped to think how he is far too busy to educate himself now. Give me a break!
