Anyone have an idea what Shannon Pilcher weighs? Just trying to get an idea of his wing loadings on his various Velocitys.
-
I am not "sponsored" by PD, but they have been so awesome to me with helping me out and setting me up that I mention them and my satisfaction every chance I get. I tell people what I jump, why I like it , and how super the people at PD are. I never ask for anyhting except help and the occasional T shirt. But I know there are people who just expect stuff for nothing, and that is a shame. PD has always bent over backwards to satisfy me, (as I am sure other manufacturers do) and I appreciate it very much!

All you have to do is - Get them to a safe jump altitude and- Fly like an eagle Johnny!

I don't even know how to get on the list! Just wanted to play on the picture thread!

PM me your address and I will send one right out to ya!

You are on my list of favorite things too foz! Just don't have a pic of you and me! Nothin' better than a pint o' Guinness!!!! When we finally meet, I will buy ya one so we can enjoy them together!

Thanks Allison!! You ROCK!!! and btw... I don't get the whole deal about the pics either. So if Arizona airspeed had a gallery and they posted an album of themselves at a party, that would not be skydiving related?? I beg to differ.
-
Awesome!!!! I would really appreciate the pics!! Thank you Allison! And please be sure to let me know when the Mafia video is available. I would love a copy!
-
No interrogation, just love my Girlz and wanted to see the pics! Will you sell a copy of the Sugar jumps??? http://www.badfishfreefly.com/gallery/gliderz_gallery_index.htm

Geez, the Crossfire 2 retails for $2150 vs the Xaos21 for $2195... The canopies fly very well at the mentioned 1.7 loading... I know a few girls that are jumping them at loadings in the 1.4 range and love them... these canopies can be flown at lighter loadings... Thank you- You DO NOT have to load a crossbraced canopy at 2.0 plus to get them to perform or enjoy the benefits of them. Yes you can load them much heavier than a non corssbraced, but it is not necessary. You won't win a swoop meet, but you can still swoop the heck out of 'em and learn to fly! I love my Velocity loaded at 1.8 to 1.9!!!
-
Yes- for optimal performance you need to load a xbraced quite high. But you can certainly introduce yourself to the world of xbraced canopies at a much lighter loading and learn to fly them. I load my Velocity at about 1.8 and performs very well and is quite different than flying a non xbraced. But it isnt out of control or edgy at all. I wouldn't start flying xbraced at a loading of 2+. Start at about what you are thinking and work from there. Although you may want to try something in the 111 range for your size to start. Contact a manufacturer about a demo and see what you think before you buy. Kolla at PD will help you get set up for sure if you want to try a Velocity.

WARNING!!! Sunnydee123 can be addicting and possibly hazardous to your health. If you are not willing to have a great time and some awesome jumps, please refrain. Also, women who are pregnant or nursing should not jump with her. Just kiddin'! Somebody hook this chick up!

Did you say Kolla??!! What a sweetheart she is!!!!

like I said- I certainly am not bashing any other manufacturer, or saying there is no other great canopies out there, I just have had such a wonderful experience with PD and thought I would share. I love their products and especially my new love - the Velocity! Just gotta get my swwop on!

I have been dealing with Performance Designs in purchasing my new Velocity and have been absolutely blown away by their customer service! They are some of the best people to work with and have been so willing to help me! I am one HAPPY customer!! No, I don't work for them, I am just your everyday customer who was looking for a new cross-braced canopy. And that is what makes them so awesome! I am not bashing any other canopy manufactuers, I have no grounds to do so, I am just telling my experience with PD. I love it when I hear someone use the term "PD snob". Cause if being loyal to a company that treats their customers like gold makes me a snob, then damn straight, I am proud to be a PD snob! :) Rusty Vest of PD said something to me yesterday that you don't hear much from companies anymore. He said- "We look at every customer as an individual, take each situation seperately, and do our best to accomodate them." That is what seperates PD from the rest, in my opinion. And of course the fact that they make the best canopies in the world! :) If you are in the market for a new canopy, I highly recommend giving PD a call! I am sure you will not be disappointed with either the service you get or the products they make!

I agree- Firefly. I have jumped with some pretty tiny chicks who have sweet firefly suits. The Sugar Gliderz wear Firefly suits and they can keep up with anyone. Nice suits! Of course they are the hottest freefly chicks on the planet! I attached a picture I took of Missy and my team mate Fritz. Check out her FireFly.

I have about 1300 freefly jumps and have a total of about 2100. Most of my early freefly jumps were self teaching, so it took me a while. But in the last 2 years or so, I have really buckled down and get coaching jumps whenever I can! Never stop learning. I am very happy with where I am at now with my skills and just continue to work and learn from everyone. There is a short video we did earlier this year if you want to see. I am the one on my head in the clips. http://www.badfishfreefly.com/gallery/badfish_gallery_index.htm It's the very bottom thumbnail.

Sunnydee123 with Badfish - PICS!
ccowden replied to ccowden's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
She is definitely a cool chick! And "burning up the roads" is an understatment! Denise World Tour 2003 is more like it! Whatever she is doing, it is working. She is one of the best sit-flyers I have seen for such low jump numbers! -
Sunnydee123 with Badfish - PICS!
ccowden replied to ccowden's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I had a ton of fun jumping with Denise this weekend at Crosskeys! Tommy and I kept her movin' and we played all day! There are pictures from our jumps with her on the team site here- http://www.badfishfreefly.com/gallery/flyingwithfriends_gallery_index.htm Have a look! Thanks for all the jumps Denise! -
Probably a stupid question to you all, but.....
ccowden replied to pyke's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Most people who are flaring with rear risers are jumping a high performance (mostly cross-braced) main that will stay in a dive after the front riser hook, until they input either rear risers or toggles. These canopies have a long recovery to almost no recovery arc. Once the canopy is diving, it will stay in the dive and you won't have to hold the front riser all the way.
