I agree. You should start a new thread. A very specific new thread. One with clearly defined boundaries so one doesn't drive all over the road and into the ditches.

I can't think that fast!!!

Dude...you and "Smiles" are a typing fools!!!

Maybe you’ve elaborated with facts to back up your case earlier and I just haven’t read them. Correct me if I need to read something you’ve provided already before I speak. Taking this comment at its face, however, I have the following rebuttal. So far, I’ve heard most of the common antagonistic responses that non-Christians give in response to Bible reference from you. I can provide evidence to back up my case that the Bible is reliably transmitted and historically accurate. I’ve not heard anything but baseless criticism from you on the subject. Make your case that the Bible and references to it are “biased and fictional. I’d be interested in that debate. I used to be exactly like you in my beliefs. I can testify that, having seen it from both sides of the fence, the way of Jesus is a much harder road. I believe you’re taking the easy way out. It’s easy to do it your own way, make up your own rules, and not be accountable to anyone. I do seek wisdom for myself and do not have a blind faith.

Got one more before I have to go. Jesus was witnessed to have been killed and resurrected just as he predicted himself. He endorsed the Bible as the Word of God. That's good enough for me. Be back this afternoon. Very interesting conversation. You guys be nice!

It happens! Gotta go for now... Out...

Yeah...but did you win???

I'd refer you to my document attached in a previous post. It lists a whole bunch of passages from several different versions and does comparisons.
-
Examples?
-
I agree totally.

That's a nice theory. But, whew!!!, it's kind of a stretch. Even for me. I think the point of my Word doc, though, was that there's not enough difference in the version to make a difference. Especially in anything crucial to the authenticity of the religion. If anything, the versions support each other and add to the validity. I truly don't believe that language or version of the Bible (King James vs. NIV, etc) makes any difference whatsoever.

Everybody becomes a Christian sooner or later!

True...You can't get away from the element of faith but I'm the type of person who likes as much hard info as I can get. That's my weakness. I believe it, though.

Whoops! Here it is again.

I copied a particular chapter from the e-book that I was talking about concerning this topic into a Word document and zipped it. It's very interesting and makes some good points. There is a section on the Versions.

That’s very blasphemous but nice circular reasoning!

Compressed with WinZip, it's still 363kb. Oh well.

Oh well. It's an adobe acrobat file. I'll try later. Sorry.

I'm fairly new to this dropzone.com forum thing. I wanted to upload an attachment that's 728kb. I exceed the limit. Any suggestions? I'm don't own a domain name and am not running my own web site. Does anyone happen to have an ftp site or somewhere I might be able to transfer a file so that it could be viewed by others here? I just jumped into this forum and can't stay but I've got a .pdf e-book that was very helpful to me particularly when I was researching the authenticity of the Christian Bible. I could even e-mail it to somebody and they could post it. If nobody can help, don't worry about it. I just thought I'd try.

That's cool. I broke it up into 9 octets and converted to decimal. I thought it might be "SkyDekker" or something like that. Again, I don't know jack about machine language.

01010011 (83) 01101011 (107) 01111001 (121) 1000100 (132) 01100101 (101) 01101011 (107) 01101011 (107) 01100101 (101) 01110010 (114) Just curious. I don't do machine language. Is there significance to your binary quote?

Nice Bible quote. That pretty much sums up the reason for the controversy surrounding this topic. I also like your personal quote at the bottom.

This is a fine example of the media scraping the bottom of the barrel for tidbits of information to discredit the movie. It's a media feeding frenzy to attack Mel Gibson. In the entire population of the US, they find a story of a woman who dies, from cause unknown, while watching the movie. There'll probably be someone in the entire US population who dies standing in line in the cold waiting to buy a ticket to the movie as well. It's a big place. That's not Mel Gibson's fault. People die all the time doing all sorts of things. Who's to say that her condition at the time wasn't unstable or that she wouldn't have died doing something else that day. I hate that the media is using this story for that means. I had the feeling that they would, though. This woman's death is being trivialized for media hype. It's shameful!

The one time I don't use spell check, I misspell position. I am computer dependent!
