  1. It's not about "ownership." It's about human life. It is in fact amazing what some people seem to think they own and can conveniently discard.
  2. Man…I dig that! That is way groovy. Leonard Nimoy is much better than William Shatner.
  3. Dude...I'm sorry to hear about that. That is a shame.

    I wish...

I think you're on to something...
  5. Maybe we could set up a network for people who want to die, and serial killers who just can't help but kill people. That way, no one really loses and we keep things under control. They could have, "Kill Me Farms" or something. It's all about bringing people together in the 21st Century.
  6. Geee... I don't know who that could have been Now c'mon, you know it was a long snivel.
  7. Uh huh...If he's going to "buy the farm", I hope he pays in full instead of becoming a burden on society for the rest of his and our lives. Is that cold? Sorry...
  8. Stranger things have happened (i.e. Bill Clinton).
  9. Somebody just hand him a loaded pistol. There's easier and less expensive ways of going about what he's trying to do.

  11. I'm lucky if I get paid at all. I usually do tandems for my uncle, Ret. CSM Buddy Blue (DZ/aircraft owner). I'm part of the Opelika Skydiving Association's "slave labor" mafia. I do get some free shit, though. Tips? Hell no...
  12. You're right. I do have many friends who think I'm nuts. I'm also all about pushing the envelope and I do and I love it. However, I just don't see what happened as being something productive to the sport and something to encourage others to do. Common sense comes into play with everything and I dare say there's a very high probablility that someone will die attempting to do what they did and it will reflect very negatively on us as a whole. Possibly leading to further restriction rather than more freedom. Very true!
  13. I oppose abortion except in the instance of high risk to the mother’s life because I consider, without being able to prove otherwise, that life begins at conception. That, however, takes the decision of legality to a different level. However, do I think a partner (not a spouse) should have legal rights in determining if the woman should or should not be allowed to have an abortion? No. I don’t believe that just being a sperm donor gives you that right. If married, however, I believe the two partners become one (figuratively speaking). I believe that a husband’s body belongs to his wife and hers to him. The wellbeing of each is the responsibility of the other as well as their own. Therefore, the “married” partner, in my opinion, should have legal rights in that decision. Again however, that aside, I still think abortion is fundamentally wrong except in extreme cases.
  14. I'd vote for them for the "dumbass of the decade" award.
  15. All on the same jump: - 1st BirdMan jump with Chuck Blue (SkymonkeyONE) - 1st BirdMan dock with Chuck - 1st pond swoop and drug my foot all the way across it and landed smoothly on the other side under a small demo canopy.
  16. Ewww......I can't drink anymore beer for a while. I broke my head several nights from drinking all that free beer and eating jello shots while I was there. Still in recovery mode.
  17. It was my first convention. I left on Friday but I didn't hear of any "major" accident that occurred. I'm amazed after seeing all that I saw. I saw a "very" low pull by a couple of guys and a pair that landed a Mr. Bill (stupidest thing I've ever seen in my 18 years of skydiving). I can't believe nobody got hurt. Probably just some bruising from the crash landings at the swoop pond and the occasional drunk bastard falling off a golf cart. It was a HUGE letdown doming home. I'm still depressed.
  18. Your reasons are my reasons and also in that order. I love doing tandems.
  19. I saw it and couldn't believe it! That was, by far, the stupidest thing I've ever seen in my 18 years of skydiving. I asked around and nobody had ever heard of anyone doing that before. I was waiting to test jump a Crossfire 109 at the Icarus tent, looked up, and saw what I originally thought was a guy with some kind of stuffed doll on his shoulders (until it moved ). Incredible! You just never know at the Convention! Damn!!! Had to come back yesterday. I'm depressed.
