thanks I wasn't interested until your write up. The fact that it is the same person who wrote the screenplay for West Wing sold me (that series was genius). Yeah. I love that show. Great show, even if it is bunch of damned liberal hippies.

I don't generally cruise in the right lane, I found cops get ya more often there. I just move over to pass then move back. Ya assumed that I just pussyfoot in the left lane, and you're wrong. If someone gets on my ass in the left lane then they are doing more than 20 over to catch me. I'll move as soon as I get a free break in traffic, as I expect them to. Otherwise, please dont slow down as that simply fucks up everybody.

At 400 jumps there are very few people I would truly call "advanced" canopy pilots, especially after spending that little time under each wing. To quote a great little movie, most "fly a pattern like a drunken snake". However, if at 400 jumps you wanna do that, with that progression, honestly with the skills met you described, then you could probably handle a velo 111 @ 1.3. I'm just not sure why you'd want to...

I have a protec half shell that I have used for 1200 jumps, well mostly. I have other helmets specifically for camera flying, or a full face for RW. My protec is my FF/Swooping helmet. My main consideration is that this helmet is designed for people who fall on their head on concrete on a daily basis. My most likely injury is going to be a traumatic head injury on landing given my chosen discipline. Most helmets are great for stopping dings on the doors, or a small whack in the face in freefall, but don't fool yourself that any skydiving helmet is anything more than something to hold your brains in one place if shit really goes wrong. Hell, if something really goes wrong, well, pray.

Some like it, some don't. I am falling in love with shooting it. Some like fisheye. Some like macro. Some like landscape. The wonderful thing about photography/art is that it really only matters to the person that is shootin it. If they love it, then so be it. If others love it, then, well, you get to be popular.

Wicked, statue of liberty, ground zero - check. HDR photography on top of the empire state building - check. Really looking forward to dinner at le bernardin tonight, but still might cry when we get the check. Tomorrow - more tourist stuff and shopping for the lady. Sunday - personal time with me drooling and burning up a credit card at B&H Photo Video. Good trip so far.
