If you want it to. It can be flat turned, braked landing'd quite easily when flown in a conservative manner. But it does fall out of the sky in full flight and drops like a falling rock in an agressive turn.

I probably had about 100 katana jumps and near 300 on my velo. I can definitely agree with the sentiment of a more rigid wing, as x-braced is designed to be. Going back to make some video jumps on the katana when I still have it in a second rig, definitely felt mushy. Also, agree with the ability to hang in there. Great performance in deep brakes without getting too squishy. But hell, I'm still a newb with the more advanced WL (2.2+)

Yup, shortly after my last post, I bought and downloaded the program. It's really handy. I typically run a remote, but the D3000 doesn't auto bracket, so I have to push buttons with my fat sausage fingers anyways. Someday I'll upgrade to a higher quality camera body, maybe by then I'll have learned how to take better photos. One final tip - for HDR, shoot in Aperture priority to ensure a constant DoF.

That is it exactly. I've been thinking about trying out Photomatix, been using PS Elements (no, I'm not going to pay for the full PS nor would I use it very well). Anyways, Elements didn't handle the shift all too well. Photomatix is an excellent program and very well priced too. if you use the code PICTURECORRECT at checkout you will be %15 off. I think they are still running it anyway. Also, to further reduce shake, use a remote release to help ensure tack sharp photos.

Were you shooting HDR from a tripod? If you are mounted on a tripod you actually want to turn VR off as it can induce image shake as the VR searches for movement.

What about tossing it on the amtrack auto train? Would that work?

Eating rich food, masturbation, and 3-putting all have the same thing in common... You feel guilty, but you know that you are gonna do it again.

-Branched Castrodavid's discussion on swooping
wildcard451 replied to castrodavidd's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
You kidding right. Yow are comparing a golf cart to a canopy. A golf cart can't kill you nor anyone one else. Comments like this are the ones that I find a joke here on the internet. Someone that doesn't know any better might actully listen to you. There are a few people from several DZs that may disagree with you on the whole "safety of golf carts" topic. -

- 3 good beers and a flexeril was my limit for being able to stay awake for the superbowl last night. Then again, I really didn't care about the game. What are your limits?

You have a French-Canuckian accent? [swoon] If I PM my phone number to you, will you leave a dirty message on my vmail? I only sound French-Canadian when I speak French... Otherwise when I speak English I have a strange mix of Canadian with subtle British tones... It's not pretty.. Fine fine. You can call me and leave me a dirty message in French.

Are you still afraid of the door?
wildcard451 replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
A buddy of mine and I swung our feet out the otter door at around 1500 when the door went up and sat there having a conversation about how we have to be a little off in the head to be that comfortable sitting out there like that. -

When Swooping Do You...........?
wildcard451 replied to Brumby's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
As others have said, the digital altimeters are primarily a tool in order to help you evaluate your dive as a learning tool up high, and also for precision pattern flying to get you to your initiation point within your bubble. Developing the sight picture to control rate of turn, dive and rollout, with input or without, comes with time and experience. Swooping by beeps without knowing how to visually evaluate changing conditions in the dive will get you hurt or killed. -
Traffic and Transit Update: 12-Hour Commute
wildcard451 replied to wayneflorida's topic in The Bonfire
Then the problem with the GW Parkway is that for very long stretches, there are no exits! That's how people go stuck for so long. They couldn't try another route, or maybe get a hotel room, or even just pull into a restaurant and have dinner for awhile. The some people just left their cars there and walked home, leaving even more obstacles. Yeah. I don't like GW. -
Traffic and Transit Update: 12-Hour Commute
wildcard451 replied to wayneflorida's topic in The Bonfire
Well, we only got 6" here, and I work right off of I95. I stayed at work til 8pm and drove home with NO issues, other than a little slippery secondary roads. Here is where it all went wrong. Normal commutes from DC south the the Fredericksburg area run 2 hours+ during daily rush hour anyway. Now the Snow started like clockwork @ 3pm, with heaviest snow from 4-7, sometimes up to 2" an hour. Schools let out early, the government let out 2 hours early, and that was right when the dumping started, so it was a perfect traffic fuckup. -
There are less people here worth talking to these days.

All for it. My job requires it to allow me to deal with peoples' lives on a daily basis. No opposition to the idea at all. -
