What? Are my multiple personalities not good enough for you?

Good stuff! I was about to be irked if no one bit on the bump. I just set it up where I can start using a computer lab comp as well. We'll see how long they let me get away with that though!

Indeed! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Yeah, I know, I am a slacker.....

Yeah....I have been hooked up for three months now. Finally broken into the top 20, but it is slow going making any progress from here up. I'll never catch up to the top 10 unless I can find a spare server farm somewhere that doesn't need their extra CPU cycles......

Figured it has been a little over a month so I would bump this thread to the top again. Our team ranking has been slipping and I see that our active members have been falling off. All the new guys, throw this puppy on your comp, espescially if you have 2000 or NT. Just run it as a service and forget it is there! Happy Folding!

Skydiving Injuries: Truthfully...Do You...
wildcard451 replied to RkyMtnHigh's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm currently in the same boat as far as being grounded. I haven't jumped since April 10th (longest downtime since I started) and had surgery on my knee last thursday. Doc told me I need to be in a complete immobilizer brace while walking for the next three weeks, but free to move it around as I please while I am sitting around. Quite frankly I agree with him. He had to remove a piece of bone from the patellar tendon where it attaches to the tibia, so if my knee buckles forward, I run the risk of tearing my tendon off the bone. Bottom line, after these three weeks are up, I still think I will give myself another three to finish letting it heal. Can I put my canopy down in the landing area and be fine? Pretty sure I can. Can I take it downwind, off-field into someone's backyard? Prolly, but I doubt the landing will be as pretty, and I like being able to walk too much to take that chance. Like everyone else has said so far....we have a lot more jumping left to do in our lives, a few weeks will just make that next one that much sweeter. Best of luck in healing up. -
I was at a peds clinic all day and I have to go back tomorrow.....I think I am on my 4th one so far, so you aren't the only one Drink up!

A friend and I took our music lit final 2nd semester senior year completely bombed. There's NO WAY we passed it.....yet somehow the prof still gave us A's in the class........we were suprised, yet somehow, didn't feel as if though we should go argue for the grade we felt we deserved....

I fell asleep at the wheel coming home from school one night freshman year of college, and that accident made me glad I always wear my belt. I was going 55 down the road, next thing I know I am going off the road in a curve about a mile down the road. I drove through the wreck, but there wasn't too much I could do. Police accident reconstruction said I was probably going 90-100 when I left the road, and 55-60 when I hit the tree on the other side of an intersection. I had a stop sign come through the windshield and stop less than a foot from my face, hit the door frame hard enough to buckle it outward, and the force of the impact was enough to shear the driver's seat floorbolts in half. Had I not been wearing a seatbelt, there is no way in hell I would still be around today.

Ok, wait, scratch that. I am gonna go with friggin' livid. I officially hate the Richmond City Police. I'm driving home after a poker game tonight, thinking about the hand I just lost on, and make a left turn at a light. Halfway through the left turn, I see the "No left turn" sign. Shit. Too late now, nowhere to go but to finish the turn. Sure enough, there is a mother ****ing cop sitting right there. I pull over, follow the deal to the letter, and hand over my info. Here's where I start to wonder. I already know I am gonna get the ticket. Sucks to be me. Here's my question.....How many cops does it take to make a traffic stop? I get the feeling it may be standard for another car to show up. Sure. But a cruiser, a K-9 unit behind that, and another cruiser driving by and chatting as they pull though the intersection in front of me? WTF. Not as though they were even there being useful. I could hear them laughing and chatting it up for the entire time he was back there writing me a ticket. Way to be useful. I forgot the Richmond was such a safe city that you have time to yuck it up back there. What a friggin joke. Here's the best part: After he comes back to the car to explain what's going on, and informs me that the ticket is already written and I am stuck with it, he tries to chat it up with me about the college sticker on my car. What a prick. Like I actually want to sit here and talk to this guy any more? How about he gets back in his car, and go off, and chat it up with some of his buddies at their next traffic stop? If this ruffles the feather of our cops out there, I am sorry. I have nothing but respect for the legitimate work, but this was just piss poor in my opinion, and I just needed to rant.

I just told my parents straight out. They were more worried about the financial impact than the danger. After a while, I showed them some freelfy coaching video of me and now my dad is coming out for a tandem at the end of the summer.

Well, I guess it is better that this happened while I am young enough to heal faster. I have the pleasure of some nice torn articular cartilage in my right knee that I am gonna get scoped in 2 weeks. While he is there, the surgeon is also gonna remove a piece of bone that has been embedded in my patellar tendon for about 10 years, due to a condition known as Osgood-Schlatter's. Here's the trick: For all the surgeries I have witnessed, I've never been under the knife. Given the population here, I figure there is a good enough knowledge base to throw this out. What all should I expect in terms of recovery time from the scoping? Doc tells me it will mainly be dependent on how badly he weakens my patellar tendon excising the bone. Anyway, chime in and gimmie an idea of what to expect! Thanks a lot everyone! Hope to be jumping again soon

The screwball thing is, in my little hometown where my DZ is, they are paying $0.11 more than I am paying in the state capitol...... As far as cigarette prices go, I guess it doesn't hurt to have Phillip Morris headquarters here.....(not that I know anything about cigarette prices, but I imagine this helps)
