I've been jumping 9 years. I have had only 1 brand new piece of gear, and I sold that canopy after 6 months. I finally think that I am ready for my last container and can finally buy custom. First rig is good that one that fits, and appropriate main and reserve sizes for your experience level. If you take care of gear then the resale value is usually pretty decent.

Simple. You ask around til you hear the advice that tells you it is ok to do what you wanted to in the first place.

Rhonda stated some things and Gene did too but why the F bring up another DZ in the area who has said nothing and will not because we have respect? I have friends that jump at Start and I do not give a damn were they choose to jump. It's their choice but it is total bullshit to be petty...... everyone jumped on Rhonda for saying what she did but what is the difference between that and these little pot shots. Just skydive and if you do not like a DZ then fine do not jump there but do not act like a fucking child and talk this bullshit. None of you are superior in any way to other jumpers. I was glad to see he was all right in the end. But I thought it was a terrible show, They said both his reserve lines and main lines were tangled while still in the container and the jump was doomed from the start. I don't think you can P at 60MPH under a spinning canopy and what was up with the guy with the jacket in the tunnel trying to simulate being under two wrapped canopies? Every time I hear that a skydiver survived a 15,000 ft freefall, I just laugh. There was no reason to show the base fatality I turned it off because it was that bad.
