Tennesse Skydiving Center -- Aircraft
Nutz replied to quade's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
That is not what this thread was about, it is what you wanted to transition it into. I wasn't following anyone around to see what they were saying. I happened to be standing next to the gentleman when he made the call. Well, I did hang around until the cops got there - just to see what would happen. So I am a gawker, at least I am not naive or a liar. Edit to add: They called before they left Nashville, TN and were told that they were jumping, and there were more than a few that that happened to, if you don't want to believe me then maybe you would believe your manifest person, I'll pm you the name. -

what are you talking about??? did you jump there on sept 11th?? i didnt ... i called the dz that day and they told me they werent jumping.... whatever dude!!! you hear a roumer and you just got to spread it more..... dbat!!! \you ever been there??? you ever called there>????? i didnt think soo Ok Mark, I have been watching this and not saying anything, I was there on the Saturday following September 11, 2001 standing next to a gentleman who drove the "20 minutes" from Nashville, because hey, they were jumping. Anyway, he gets his cell phone, calls the dz, talks to the owner who tells him, "Yes, we are jumping, there have been three loads up already today." The gentleman then tells him he is standing in the parking lot and gets hung up on. He then called the sherrif, still gets no refund, even though he was lied to to get him to the dz in the first place. This is an honest businessman? -
Geez, I can read it, but I see that it is all jumbled up.

I've always wanted to yell this before going out of the plane, but being a redneck and all, I don't want these to be my last words. So what to do?

I thought everyone used throwouts. The DZ where I learned puts students out on elipticals as well.

How small a main can safely fit in a Javelin J7
Nutz replied to tomleone's topic in Gear and Rigging
I have a J7 with a Flight Concepts 190 in it. It fits fine. I have a 249 reserve and it fits fine as well. I don't know about going any smaller on the main though. -
The most important thing for you to do - and the hardest thing for you to do - RELAX. If you are relaxed in your arch the chipping will stop and the dive will go much smoother and more fun. It is very difficult to do because of all the apprehension and adrenaline, but that is the key. Don't give up, it will come with time. Something else to remeber is that we have all been through this and made it, you can too.

What the heck are those weeds growing in front of the billboard??

Ya know, LN2 (liquid nitrogen) is cool, LOX is dangerous. You do understand that as it evaperates it attatches itself to you (LOX) and if you are wearing cotton clothes and light up soon after handling LOX you can ignite into a ball of flame. Also, have you ever spilled LOX on asphault? LN2 on the other hand, is almost as cold, is inert, dissipates well, in a well ventilated area, don't forget about the aphixiation hazard with any cryogenic liquid as they boil off, they expand many many times their volume as a liquid. Oh, also, cylinders with a cryogenic liquid in them must be vented as you can tell from the original powerpiont presentation.

How did you get started w/ skydiving?
Nutz replied to skydivingdutch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions

Look at the mess!!!

You know, I have no trouble with this, I think everyone that can't do it is uncoordinated.

I have done more than one h+p from 14000. One was a cross country and the other there were two of us that were interested in crw and we saw how close we could get to each other without crashing. We did not get closer that about 50'. Oh, it is a lonnnngggg ride down from that high, even at 1.3/1.

You know, the beer rules state that when you have more than one first on a day you only owe one case of beer, but if you want to bring more.

Should we comment to DZ's about their negative advertising?
Nutz replied to peek's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
the "questionable" drop zone has done alot for skydiving in your area. it is just too bad that you cannot stay out of somones buissness polatics and enjoy what they have built for you.... a skydiver.. blue sky's p.s. there are a few nice drop zones in that area... one of them just wants all the tandams.... what does that have to do with you??..... nothing.. you should come out and jump with us and see what kind of experiance is there and how much better of a skydiver you could become... dont want to argue but i dont like peaple talking trash about any dz they never goto. or even never have been too... Mark, I usually do not agree with Billvon but I have to on this one. You make a choice where you jump. I have experience with this dz and I can tell you - all they care about is money, safety means nothing. (If you want I will show you my wife's x-rays and give you her jump story to prove it. Or she can tell you herself when we see you tomorrow.) Just my .02 Edit to add: Something else I thought of, I am assuming you are there every weekend. How many students do you see hurt EVERY weekend. I am not talking badly although I know that happens. I have never seen a student get hurt at my dz and I have been jumping here alot longer than there. -
ROFLMAO Drugs, heavy drugs. Lots of them.

Hey man, that looks like my first car! Naaa, mine was a 68. You would not want it, the front end was all busted up (underneath) and the tranny was shot, third gear still worked. It was the same color though.

I think she got it right. Post-whoring should ALWAYS come first.
