I would imagine that making out in public in school would be against the rules there no matter what sex the two people were.
no shit bill, but the point is the millions of heterosexual kisses that the teachers/administrators overlooked over the years. Don't you remember high school? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
The concept is that it gives the main one more chance to depart.
Do you honestly think your slider holder is that strong? i got mine from Baddog Services. They had the cheapest prices that I could easily find. Dave has really great customer service there, send him an email, he's usually pretty quick about getting back to you. Blue skies!

Canopy Progression - the Pro's way
andy2 replied to garywainwright's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I think its the only thing you can do when someone with low jump numbers inquires ONLINE about whether or not they should downsize aggressively. It's erring on the side of caution. Why tell them they should do it when its easier to tell them they shouldnt? I think the only way to get good advice on canopy selection is from people that have seen you land MULTIPLE times in MULTIPLE conditions. Anything else is just stupid and pointless. Everyone's different. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm... -
Optimal wingloading for swoop distance vs. Speed.
Good luck running out a landing with ankle weights on.
Oh shit, shows you how far I thought out that idea. I was just speaking theoretically anyways, I'm not anywhere near wanting to increase my WL anytime soon. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm... -
ok we're on the exact same page then! Hehe Yeah definitely do a few downwind/crosswind landings to take the BEER out of the time you'll have to do it in a stressful situation. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

Optimal wingloading for swoop distance vs. Speed.

wow 30 pounds! Hey here's an idea I was tossing around the other day. Why not load some weight up on your ankles (like ankle running weights). I think this would elongate the recovery arc of a canopy (i.e. you would swing out more behind the canopy in an aggressive dive). Maybe not that much but every bit helps, right? Thoughts? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm... -
Downwind landing is preferable to an upwind landing" especially if you want to swoop
I've found just the opposite in my slight experience. Granted I'm only working with double fronts and the occasional few degree carving turn, but I've found learning the basics of swooping to be much easier when Im faced into the wind on landing. It might make for a shorter swoop, but it makes for a safer one, in my inexperienced opinion. I'd really like to hear what the experienced swoopers have to say about this. Although I know what the experienced ones at my DZ have said: "Learn first how to swoop accurately into the wind and then start practicing swooping downwind..." Makes a lot of common sense, why swoop downwind and have to worry about all that excess speed when your swoop is finished when you can swoop into the wind and touch down softly EVERY time (I think really important for someone who is still learning the rudimentary physics of swooping a parachute). Input?

probably the differences in trim affect opening speeds also. arn't the 3 models of the tri trimmed differently? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
Most times I already know how long a skydive is
Seems like mostly good advice to me except for this tidbit. I think that might inadvertently encourage newbies to "feel" how long the skydive is. Being a newbie at skydiving, I want first to keep an eye on the ground, then my alti, and then have my audibles for backup. Also ron, you forget there are people doing things where their freefall rates range from 100-250 and beyond. It's hard to know exactly what alti you are at with an internal clock when your freefall rate ranges that much. Thats why eyes, altimeters, and audibles are a GOOD thing. Alti awareness for me is a long slow process of weaning off the alti and relying on instincts/common sense. I think they don't teach as much that EYES are first in FJC. The whole "lock on your altimeter" thing... --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
might cause me to die

didn't turn Cypres on
Not to be nitpicky but forgetting to turn your cypres on isn't going to kill you. Lots of us jump without a cypress. hey GZ, how much weight are we talking about here? I figured only 10 pounds would really effect the way a high performance canopy flies. Just curious... -
Canopy Progression - the Pro's way
Upsizing in the pro ranks?
I think the idea is to upsize the wing and wear alittle weight, that way your WL stays the same but the wing you're flying is bigger thus being able to create more life. Correct me if I'm wrong please. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm... -
im looking into putting mine on my mudflap on my rig, just bc its annoying to look at it while freeflying. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
