  1. As others have said the stock market has already priced in a Dem victory, as they can see the polls too. Now whether the polls are accurate is another thing, but your point that there are many "hidden" Trump supporters the polls are missing has no evidence for it. The link contains more details. Pollsters don't count "number of Trump bumper stickers" or "biden/harris" yard signs, you know?
  2. Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight, who predicted the largest odds for Trump winning in 2016, says: So yes, keep hoping. Trump DOES have a chance to win, just that this number is way below 50%. Edit: source link: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/trump-supporters-arent-shy-but-polls-could-still-be-missing-some-of-them/
  3. Well...possibly because I did it in the form of a silly prank I had to own up though, because the school threatened to punish everyone if the perpetrator/s didn't come forward (collective punishment is banned under the Geneva Convention, but Catholics have better morals, right?)
  4. Maybe richravizza is saying that Trump's tweets are a false narrative. Which is correct.
  5. It's not. You do it all the time. I also criticise Islam, and I've never been punished for it. I was, however, suspended for a day from the Catholic school I attended because I criticised Christianity.
  6. Oh yes indeed. "We hold all the cards" "They need us more than we need them" "The German automotive industry will force Merkel to do a deal" And that's just a tiny fraction of the lies Interestingly, the brexiters I know have now changed their tune to "it will be bad at first, because change is always disruptive, but it will be good in the long run". When asked "how long?" they don't have any idea, of course. But it will be great!
  7. I am also noting with some glee how Johnson is getting scared big brother Trump won't be able to come to his rescue: I got skin in this game, please vote him out!
  8. The 1918 pandemic killed lots of people, then mysteriously "disappeared". The RNA polymerase in influenza viruses is error-prone so mutation rates are fast - the 1918 virus mutated in 2 critical sites and became a lot less deadly, so it actually didn't disappear - it just became the regular flu (the H1N1 family that we still have today). Why? Viruses actually face selection pressure to become less deadly, as if they kill their hosts too quickly they won't be able to reproduce as effectively. This is what happened to the Spanish flu. However, for Covid-19, the RNA polymerase in the coronavirus has better "proof-reading" mechanisms, so mutation rate is much slower. Sequencing the genome from the start of the covid-19 outbreak to now there's only been minimal change. So if we want to wait for this virus to become less deadly like the 1918 one, we're going to have to wait a LONG time. The upside is, since mutation rates are much slower, it should be easier to target with a vaccine and drugs. Unfortunately no vaccines or drug treatments have ever been developed for coronaviruses, so scientists are in new territory here. As destructive as Covid-19 is, it won't be the last pandemic. It's not a matter of if, but when. If we don't learn from this, the next one could be much worse. And when the next one comes, would you want Trump to be the one leading the country again?
  9. The CEO of MagniX is actually a skydiver himself, and he's been interviewed by Pete Allum: https://www.careallfoundation.org/blog-article-9-roei-ganzarski-ceo-magnix One thing that's also great for electrics is potentially far better safety - carb icing, gearbox failures and most other mechanical failures would become a thing of the past. I'd be far more relaxed between takeoff roll and 1500 feet!
  10. I used to think this was correct, unfortunately there have now been confirmed cases of surface transmission of covid-19: https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/427446/rubbish-bin-the-likely-source-of-covid-infection There has also been a study that covid-19 particles survive longer on surfaces than influenza viruses: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-54500673 I also used to think this, but this is now outdated as we've had more studies come out: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7277485/
  11. Ah, so your fantasizing about watering the earth with blood of your political opponents is because you're part of a political death-cult! You seem to be describing yourself more and more. well...
  12. Does this include the freedom of practicing any religion you want? Except Islam, of course. We know the slurs you've said about it. I'm not a fan of any religion but your hypocrisy is quite obvious. But rest assured you have more in common with islamic extremists than non-hypocritical liberals.
  13. So just a question to the mods, with homicidal posts and lots of slurs why is this person still allowed to post here?
  14. Joe Biden has released 22 years of his tax returns. So, if he had any illegal income that did not appear on those, he would be on the hook for tax evasion and a host of other crimes too. So if there's evidence by all means, the FBI should press charges. Now speaking of tax returns...how about Trump? And there ya go. So you want to define certain people as tyrants and "water the tree of liberty" with their blood? Man, you have some serious anger issues. I highly recommend getting some help. In the meantime, you should be on an FBI watch list. "Genocide" is the wrong word, my apologies. You're just simply homicidal. I wasn't trying to redefine the word genocide - see, you're already wrong and jumping to conclusions! Seek help.
  15. Well this has to be independently verified first, then they will publish. Not like the NY post which will just publish any unconfirmed bullshit. Given that you were "hoping" for a civil war so you can reduce the number of liberals, I'd consider your hopes more seriously if they weren't so genocidal.
  16. Well according to winsor it should be the other way around. When black people stop the victimisation and become better citizens like he is, then they can maybe ask politely about not being killed or discriminated against so much.
  17. Yeah right, because black culture isn't perfect and one person was victimised, means they don't get to complain that they're getting killed disproportionately! They can only complain if they are perfect, right? I think this is 2 things: The number is complete bullshit and pulled out of your arse, however the percentage is indeed high One of the reasons for this is because young black men don't get enough opportunities, making crime relatively more lucrative (and traps them) So when you learn how to account for statistical biases and other controlling factors, come back and we can have a more reasonable discussion. No, idiots who oppose things getting better for a certain group because they themselves are okay are the ones not addressing the problem. They exacerbate it.
  18. Yeah, how dare they protest the killings of unarmed black men by police. They should stop complaining and keep dying. Well glad you're doing alright, we can all stop trying to fix any injustices since you're not suffering. Good news, everybody! We can stop the entire movement now since winsor's doing okay! </sarcasm>
  19. Too busy digging for dirt on the Bidens. If Barr doesn't start an investigation (because evidence is really dodgy), Trump should replace him with our very own turtlespeed.
  20. I'm also not quite sure what drives prop sizing on C208s for example, but my guess would be the gearbox loading and max engine power - so I'd imagine with electric, having a direct electric drive and the power advantages you mentioned earlier, you can mount a much bigger prop than before. If you mount the biggest prop that's practical (for ground handling, etc) then you'll get the most benefit out of regen.
  21. Yeah, I realised that after I posted But the maintenance and fuel savings for electric ops will already be massive, so maybe regen is just a tiny bit of icing on the cake.
  22. The White House actually wasn't using that test - they were using a less accurate, more rapid test. Which is one of the reasons Trump eventually got it.
  23. There are faster tests than PCR, but better? That would be great to have, but right now PCR is the gold standard to compare against. billeisele's view is the standard "I'm alright Jack, I don't know anyone who's been hospitalized or died from coronavirus, so it must be a big hoax and all these restrictions should stop". Try telling that to the face of someone who lost a relative from covid, billeisele. See if you don't get punched in the face.
  24. Geez, what do you know about the PCR test? Have you even used a PCR machine before? It's the most sensitive test we have for viral RNA, however it has also been demonstrated COUNTLESS times that asymptomatic people who test positive are very capable of transmitting the virus, as was found in New Zealand recently. The rest of the article is just conspiracy theorist rubbish.
  25. Small propellers will have high drag losses for regen, so actually electric helicopter ops for skydiving will actually be more optimized - electric helicopter climbs to altitude, then does autorotation descent which will (hopefully) recover a significant amount of the energy used to climb (minus the skydivers' gravitational potential energy and drag losses of course). Well *theoretically*, in an aircraft that climbs to altitude then descends to the same point (no one jumps out), the net gravitational potential energy change is zero, so you should be able to get 100% of the energy of the climb back, minus drag and engine losses. Unfortunately those losses will be pretty high.
