I agree with you if the terrible event made the election imposible, short of like if a whole city was blown up, which was not the case in Madrid. Here, the voters took a choice and that choice does not fit the Republican agenda, so instead of calling it democracy they call it lack of nerve or determination. I really hope there is not a terrorist attack closed to the elections for a fear it wouldn´t be a small one. But if there is, you will find yourself beetwen a rock and a hard wall. Then, hopefully, you will take the most democratic decision regardless who may benefit or who you are going to upset. No, attacks will not stop. But No, other fronts will not be more dangerous. Concentrate you efforts in protecting your homeland and your actual interest instead of creating new interests. That will not guarantee a terrorism free country, but i asure you it will make a lot harder for terrorists to strike at you.

Well, the US has been enduring terrorist attacks in Irak daily. Beheadings, car bombs, etc. over 1000 Us soldiers have died so far and many more have been wounded. It could be that, but i am more inclined to think that they are not kidnapping more americans because at the moment the Us citizens are getting more and more fed up with this war. If they keep beheading Americans they can shift the public opinion from that position to a more belicist actitud which would favour bush in the elections. Also, as i said, wether they behead the captured guy, or they get the troops to move out, means a victory to them. After all, the foreign presence in Irak is insignificant compared to the US presence. Even if all the forces from every single country moves out, the terrorists still could not do much in terms of military power to force the US to move out as well. At the moment, their best chance is to let the upcoming elections change the US government.

I don´t agree at all, it is a very simplistic way to look at things. You need to stop seeing terrorists as pavlov dogs. You will NOT condition their response because of previous acts. I mean, how do you know that what they really want is that philipines army withdraw (their army is nearly non existent). Maybe in this case it would have been better for them to execute him to teach the rest a lesson. Also, how do you know that if you refuse to give in to their demands, thy will stop doing it? As far as i know, both, killing invaders AND forcing invaders to go back to their country fits in their agenda, so either way, they win. If you want to have any chance against terrorists, you must consider them, at least as intelligent as you. Maybe a bit more to be safer.

Well, it's true I was born with an analytical mind that doesn't let me just coast through life. I notice too much stuff, and yeah, some of it makes me angry. I would not characterize myself though, in general, as an "angry person." And I have to say that what comes across from me on this forum is a weighted representation of only one side of my personality. What is the point of that web site? It may be cultural diferences here, but what i understood is that the webpage is not about 9/11, but about your fears and revenge. That web is not respecting the memories of those who fell that day, for they are being used for political purposes. Here in Madrid, no political party talks about those who fell in the trains their bashing goes into another directions. If you wear 7 layers of cloths like an onion, it is fairly OK. If you try to be a true Scotchman (Just a kilt with no underwear), you will realize that Scottish guys have no terminal nerves in their skin.
