  1. It has nothing to do with their religion. It is a matter that if a bunch of people with no house , no jobs, and no money get together in a city, crime will skyrocket. And morocco not only is not enforcing his part of the deal but look to the other side. After all, none of the imigranbt wants to stay in morocco, they just use it to reach spain.
  2. I thought it was NRA (National Rifle Asociation), no NRRA (National Republican Rifle Asociation). If they give money to the republicans is because by bribing them they will have a better chance to pursue thier agenda, which is gun related. Or are you telling me that there is no democrat who likes guns and is member of the NRA?
  3. Still waiting... How about contributing economicly for the republican party. How in the world does that compare to handing out fliers to tourists as they step off of airplanes to frighten them about a new gun law? Let's face it: you made an allegation that you can't support. I thought you wanted an example of the NRA having an agenda and resorting to trick and dark tactics to persue it. I gave it to you. I think that lobbying for a politican party is a synonym of bribing and that is exactly what they are doing. Like many other groups and bussiness i must add.

  5. It is better that instead of giving advises to other posters, you participate in this forum other than just brown nosing people with opposite views of those you dislike. As i have said many times before, if you don´t have anything interesting to say, silence will make look much wiser than your actual posts. Thank you It only speaks volumes to someone like you, dude. When speaking about the MISUSE OF ALL THOSE LEGAL FIREARMS words like Columbine and Red Lake comes to my head. I know that NRA told you to forget that but those were real examples of MISUSE OF LEGAL FIREARMS. Pleeeeeaze, so now i have to own a gun to have an opinion about gun laws? it looks to me that you are out of arguments and you resort to attack the poster credibility rather than the post. Very wise... Edited to remind Juanesky that the victims at Columbine where not insurgents, just in case he tries that lame justification.
  6. That is not true, you are much more likely to end up shot in the U.S than in Europe for a robery, so it is not proven at all. But of course if the felons say so, we will have to believe them... I base it on when there is a murder on the road, the crime has been commited almost always with a gun, rarely with a knife, and never with bare hands. I am talking about Spain and just road shot outs. I am saying that if i had a weapon and i was allowed to shoot to kill on the basis of my perception of what it is a mortal threat, i would be more likely to wrongly kill someone that if the law didn´t back just my perceptions up.
  7. Only for those laws that greatly differ from the rest of the world. Following your examples, when you rent a car in the airport in England you are warned in several signs that you must drive in the left of the road, and when you travel to basicly anywere, you are reminded at the airport what you can and what you cannot take with you. I see that. However, they have an agenda, and that is what theey are suppose to do. It is not like the NRA have such high morals that do not resort to tricks, like that.
  8. Taking away the likely misuse of all those legal firearms out there. How do you know that when firearms are all too common criminals will not resort to shoot first, take your wallet later? The possibility of being harmed if you act like an ass is a natural law worlwide. However the possibilite of being killed if you act like an ass is not that common at all. I would say just Florida so far.
  9. Let´s suppose i agree, would you be happy with giving every tourist a gun upon arrival so they can be part of the polite society? What about letting them bring their guns? Well, if not at least they should be warned of the local laws that might affect them, don´t you think?
  10. I understand that this is a sensitive subject for you, it is for everybody as well. Many of us know victims of sexual abuses and you are right, most of them are affected negatively for the rest of their life. But do you think that the solution would be to lure people into doing it so they can be arrested? It would be like putting a wallet in the floor and arresting the first one to get it. Or sending emails with porno pictures of pre-teens and arrest those who does not erase it right away. There is no easy solution, but i would be more comfortable with the police screening chat rooms, rather than participating and incite people to commit a crime.
  11. It is that easy indeed. Just log in a chat with a girl´s name, add to that name the number 14,15,16 or 17, and you will see how much attention from pathetic people you get. Exactly, unless he actually does something there is not much they can charge him with. But i don´t like the other option either which would be to charge him for something that he has not actually done and he has been lured into it.
  12. I understand the change diferently. What does it mean "reasonable believe"? If i offer my finger to a reckless driver and he stop to look for a confrontation, can i reasonable believe that my life is in danger? what about if he search in the car for something, how do i know wether he is going to shoot me, or just throw something at me. There is people truly paranoid out there who may think that thier life is in danger for the most stupid reasons. That you are required by law to first avoid confrontation is to me a very good thing. If you try to avoid confrontation and you cannot, chances are that the other person does indeed try to harm you. I certainly as a tourist would apreciate to know that kind of law before i travel to Florida. Same thing as it is handy to know that using drugs in Turkey will cost me many years of prison or even life.
  13. I think that common sense should be aplied when enforcing a consent age law. It is not the same a 21 years old guy with a 16 years old girl that a 35 years old guy with a 16 years old girl. I personally wouldn´t do either, however, for 6 months i was having unconsented sex with a minor because i happened to turn 18 6 months sooner than my girlfriend. (I say unconsented because the law says that a minor can not consent to have sex, not because she didn´t want to or even because her mother didn´t find out). I doubt that police would have pressed charges against me had we been caught on the backsit of the car, however, as far as i know, they very well could by the law. You cannot write in a law every specific circumstance and enforce it strictly. I personally use the next equation: Her age >= (My age/2)+7 It works for all ages and keeps me away from trouble.
  14. Yeah, but doesn´t anyone have an issue with the police setting traps to put people in jail? In spain a police officer cannot sell you drugs and arrest you for buying those drugs. If they do that, it is the police officer who gets in trouble, i think it is called incite to crime (Incitar al delito). A diferent thing altogether would be if he had already commited a crime, sexual or otherwise, and that trap was to catch him.
  15. You are happy with very little, aren´t you? IMO you don´t elect someone to try to be a president, or to try to do the job of a president. Have you ever tried, to tie your shoe? i bet you cannot. Either you tie it, or you don´t. Either the president does his job and gets popular aproval or he doesn´t and get sacked. A bussinesman who tries to run a bussiness and fail put the company in trouble. How many bussiness has bush tried? Do you think that he will have better luck running a country instead of a company?
  16. Hey, that is a very expensive green card you are buying yourself, Congratulations. Make sure before you get trigger-happy that you are indeed in Iraq and not in Venezuela.
  17. Okay, i will admit it, you made me laugh.
  18. Hey, you may even end up giving his regards to your relatives in Venezuela. How about me. I'm a wetback too. Can I play?
  19. Considering that i am not your brother, i don´t think she was referring to my parents. Thank you.
  20. It depends what version of "love" you want to use, if you mean love as romantic love, you would say "amo a las cabras". However if you say love meaning that you like them a lot, you would say "Me gustan las cabras" o "me gustan mucho (a lot) las cabras" The "really" part is seldom translated since it doesn´t add much to the meaning of the phrase. Really in this case only adds some enphasis, so you could use the word "mucho" in the second case. By the way, since this is Speakers Corner, are you comparing Bush with a goat?
  21. Since it seems that Chavez is not in good terms with the Commander in Chimp or the oil industry, what are your thoughts, since you were born in Venezuela, on a war against your country? Would it be okay with you a large number of civilian casualties 10.000+. Remember that they could be your family or your friends. Since you say you are serving, would you kill your fellow countrymen? Do you guys have WMD, (want some?) I hope that the republican warmongering doctrine has not sunk too much in you that you talk about invading your country as you talk about invading Irak.
  22. First it was cocaine, which i agree is somethig very stupid to do if you are pregnant (it is even stupid if you are not pregnant). Now you include alcohol as well. Do you know how many pregnant women around the world drinks alcohol (wine), even if it is only to toast for the fact that they are pregnant? It seems to me that this is a move to further advance an agenda. This is really not a path you want to go. What is next, put in jail any sexually active woman who drinks alcohol because she may be pregnant?
  23. I think she refers to any million, leaving aside nationality. A human live is worth exactly the same wether it is a Japanese, American or spanish human life. It is not nationality, but kindness what makes a human life more worthy than others. That is something that many people fails to understand. To me an american has the same value as an innocent iraqui civilian (not talking about terrorists or GWB here, mind you).
