I swam a mile yesterday and am about to head into work, then to the pool for a dip. Want to do 1.5 miles in the pool today and will run a bit tonight with the Hash House Harriers.

I live over here in Bahrain, a scant few miles from Saudi Arabia. Those bastards are as despised here in the Middle East as they are in the US. Like any people, they have their good and bad, but the general consensus over here is quite negative with regards to them. I'd say because despite a most disappointing 7 years and incredibly disappointing Republican Congress, I and many other conservatives remain - conservatives. Why should I or anyone else abandon their political beliefs because of a disappointing presidency/congress? Surely you don't think because they failed in so many areas that I'd lose my sense and become a demoKKKLaner - or did you? Did you think that because GWB is unpopular and has pissed off a lot of conservatives that I'd become a progressive? A moron who supports increasing spending and taxes? Are you using goggles? A modified breast stroke where you don't submerge your head or the sidestroke might work for you. I do a combination to hit all the muscle groups, mixing it up with fins and kickboard to keep my nutty mind from being bored.

Did ACDA have its own budget line item with authority to obligate? I don't know. I think to be effective it would have to have a budget and authority to obligate. Its interaction with State would be critical - and DoD to a lesser extent. The reason I was thinking DoC was that in the end, economics is one of the key factors in the dynamics of foreign policy. Not really famliar with DoC that much, but it seems a nice fit - in the abstract.

I swam just over 7 miles last week and will do the same this week. Ran today on the elliptical and did some pull ups, dips, push ups, and back extensions. Hehehehehe. I have no issue with product liability law - I have issue with its application in such a manner and believe personal responsibility is paramount. I seem to recall $harpton hosting a debate and the Democratic presidential candidates all attending...perhaps I imagined it. I do tend to laugh at the Dems and give them no credibility these days. I used to be one, actually. I feel they've betrayed liberalism as a political philosophy in favor of populism and fringe causes that have the potential to rally certain groups of voters to the polls to vote for them. The Republican party has gone down that road as well over the past eight years and I'm fairly disgusted with them too, but not quite as much as I am with the left. Anybody with a three digit IQ who has read the budget knows they've abandon fiscal conservatism, and the arch-conservatism of some of their religious lobby is scary as hell. Sometimes I do wonder at why I am less disgusted with them than leftists, and I think it's because of the issues most important to me personally - education, budget, and foreign policy would be my top three -as well as my avid hatred of racism. Even though the Republicans of late have shown themselves inept as all three, among other things, I believe them to have the better plan for all of my top three. I think that's a perversion of the law and an absolute slap in the face of the concept of personal responsibility. That vermin didn't have to buy a Glock.
