Now that the GOP has lost the election - though not done too badly in the popular vote; one small ray of sunshine on a dark as fucking HELL election day - here's some things I hope they DON'T do during the tenure of President Obama: - Emulate the Democrats and make FUCKING IDIOTS of themselves during confirmation hearings for Cabinet members. Consider each one on their merits. The President has a right to a cabinet of his choice and political views don't make one unsuitable unless those views are so extreme it's detrimental to the character of the nominee and the country as well. - Hold up floor votes for all judicial nominees. That was goat fuck stupid when the Dems did it and it would be goat fuck stupid if Republicans do it for them. The Dems won't return the favor later, but that's not the point. - Borking. It was despicable for Robert Bork. It was despicable for Judge Pickering. It will be despicable of Republicans do it for any of Obama's nominees. See my first comment above. Perhaps I repeat myself in my current state of utter disgust. The Dems won't return the favor later, but again it isn't the point. A couple things I hope they DO: - I hope they filibuster to the death any legislation that would enact the following: - the end of the secret ballot in union elections - A return of the Fairness Doctrine - A tax code punishing the wealthy, businesses, entrepreneurs, achievers - More federal government in government schools - Universal healthcare - Cap-and-trade policies on coal (no nuclear power, no drilling) - nationalization of any industry or company - Principles. Get back to conservative principles. - Cajones. Grow some. WHen the Marxists attack - like the Trent Lott bullshit - come back at them with equal furor; and facts. Among other things. I'm going to work out, cook dinner, and read a book. Even typing about politics is fucking disgusting to me right now.
