This is one of several issues that makes me a very hypocritical libertarian. I support smoking bans in general. I cannot STAND coming home smelling like cigarette smoke. It really, really pisses me the fuck off. 'Go to bars that don't allow smoking Anvil, you dumbfuck!' you might respond, and I would reply 'which ones are those again?' because the majority do allow smoking, in order to cater to more patrons, knowing that those who detest cigarettes will come in anyway. The converse will hold true as well - the patrons that want to smoke will eventually come in anyway due to lack of options. Going against my libertarian beliefs on this one. I support the ban. It's healthier for everyone. Yes, I am a hypocrite and a real JACKASS. Sorry you're enraged and hope you don't lose business as you predict. This might be more appropriate for Speaker's Corner.

Singapore kicks ass! Tiger beer sux though. Sentosa Island was fairly cool to visit. Jahore Baru was a pit, but the rest of Malaysia is quite fun to visit. This is true. It's quite funny that several senators who were quite eloquently pontificating about the need for a full senate vote for every nominee a few years ago are now totally against it. I just read another news article about judicial filibusters. There has not been a filibuster - merely the threat of one. If the Republicans are serious about wanting the judges confirmed, they would call the Dems on their bluff and force a true filibuster. It's the smart thing to do politically as well, because then the whole nation could watch the Dems making fools of themselves filibustering on national television whilst important issues linger. Force the issue and make them actually filibuster and get the judges an up or down vote on the Senate floor. This should have been done a long time ago. I'm sick of seeing articles on the issue and even sicker of all the mindless attempted borking of the judges in question. Oh yeah.
