JP II lost all ability to lead the Church in America when he declined to meet with that victims of priests abuse group on his last trip over here, I believe. Hopefully the new Pope will fix this.

So...in review... The Spanish Inquisition did horrible things long ago...the office of the Inquisition still exists and you consider this sad. The SCOTUS did a horrible thing with its Dredd Scott decision...it still exists...and you consider this...sad? good? bad? The Democratic Party was responsible for nominating a KKK member, Hugo Black, to SCOTUS - I assume you agree this a bad thing despite your open support of racial discrimination in other threads. the Democratic Party still exists...do you consider this sad as well? The court that ruled in Dredd Scott still exists. Do you think it (the court) should be abolished? The party responsible for nominating a KKK member (Hugo Black) to the supreme court still exists - should it be disbanded? There is a former KKK member serving in the Senate today. Should his votes be considered null and void? His seat vacated? After all, the above three happened far more recently than the Inquisition.
