so cool. guess you've never had someone trivialize something you really believe in. you learn to live with it because not everyone has to believe in the same things - but wow what a negative way to spend your time. Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

Agreed. AND men stayed with one "company" for most/all of their careers and that ONE income was enough to support the 'nuclear' family. Marriage, or the concept of, is just evolving - as does every single other thing in life. Of course, the natural world is resistant to change - that's a built in protection - but when it's time, it happens. It always kills me to hear "It's been this way forever - let's keep it the same - this is the right way, etc..." NOTHING stays the same. EVER. I'd even be willing to bet that the looser the restrictions on marriage - the more people will hold the traditional and symbolic meanings more dear. Even amongst married gays. Christ, if we're going to "BAN" something - at least let it have to do with something worthy of such a display. Let's put a constitutional ban on corporate embezzling. (greed, betrayal of public trust - practically treason) Why "BAN" on gay marriage? (love, commitment) Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

I agree. Mostly. Except the 'discounting' part. I think when teaching freefly (although I'm not a coach - I was taught this way and believe in it), emphasizing that all movement originates with the hips (the center) is a good way to teach fluid muscle memory. We are NOT disagreeing! Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

Your poll is incomplete. Unless you meant to exclude: "I want/had a non-traditional wedding but don't/didn't want a skydiving wedding." Not to turn this into a 'discussion' but I absolutely wanted a distinction between my (love) life and my sport. Of course, most of our friends were there - many of which were skydivers. Including our "officiant" which happened to be my husband's freefly team mate. So, plenty of 'skydiving' nuances, but non-'skydiving' wedding.

...not to argue or hijack but I'd put hips before feet and legs. Either way, your point is right on, relying on arms for stability is counterproductive. Baggy suits are like training wheels for beginners. They will assist you in getting vertical - I'd suggest once you have some familiarity with vertical body positions, that you get out of baggy suits. Learn to fly your body without the help of drag. Once you start flying with a set group of people and want to adjust your range in fall rate - you could choose a suit, with the appropriate amount of drag, to give the largest window of movement. (I.e., if you're small and jump with big guys - less drag. If you're big and jump with small guys - more drag) Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

Hi everyone, In the Events Forum, there is a post about a nationwide/worldwide sunset tracking dive on Saturday for Nate. ASC is asking for video of the dives - but also photos, written memories, "I Remember" stories, etc. about Nate for his close friends and Katie. I would ask, even if you don't do the tracking dive - for whatever reason, and even if you don't know Nate personally - but especially if you did... Please send photos and notes to ASC of your memories and thoughts of Nate. The death of a loved one spurs alot of action. Planning, initial mourning, relatives and friends traveling, etc. But when things settle down, when things are quiet and the shock of it all starts wearing down - I can only imagine that to be the truly hardest part. To be able to see and hold little treasures of love - real examples of how Nate lives on in the lives and memories of people across the country - I hope would bring some comfort to those who will feel his absence most. So, if you're reading these posts, and feel any amount of empathy for Katie and Nate's ASC family, please jot something down and send it on. "...Send the photos, video clips and memory notes to: ASC, Attn: Tracking with Nate, 493 Airport Road, Cedartown, GA 30125-5049. Or e-mail mike@chutingstar.com..." Katie and Nate, Your last text to us at Wildwood "You need to be here, right now!" Oh god, I can't tell you how much I wish we were. We always look at the two of you like a mirror of us. Or at the very least, an inspiration. Your love for each other burns so bright and touches everyone who sees you. Katie, grieve deep and let your friends, who love you both, help you find light when you're able. Your beautiful angel will never leave you. Love and empathy, Shani and Heath Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

It's a lyric from a 50 cent song, "I love ya like a fat kid love cake" My husband said it to me during at our wedding. Very romantic... Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

1. I understand the pond was (a bit) shorter than most others that the guys train on. 2. The pros didn't have *much time on the pond as they competed between weather situations through Saturday. 3. The party Saturday night/Sunday morning was not conducive to 5 pointers on Sunday afternoon! But I was looking forward to seeing that trick in person myself! Not at all trying to steal anyone's thunder, but there was a first place tie in the advanced competition. Doug Urbany of Crosskeys *also won the Advanced Category!

And let's not forget that some people don't want the new, uncertain, period of getting to know someone, discovering things that may or may not be compatible - shallower types of relationships, over and over again. Some of us are ready for and actively seeking the deeper, less glamorous, kind of intimacy and companionship that comes with long-term commitment and mutual effort over time. Americans feel safer when 'criminals' are put in jail. Politicians get votes when 'criminals' are put in jail. Private corporations that run prisons get rich when 'criminals' are put in jail. What's not to understand? Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

That...seriously, is the best illustration of why a men's forum wouldn't work - I have ever heard! And funny as hell!! Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi -

I find it interesting that some expect our political leaders to subscribe to 'morally' higher standard. He's a policy maker. A decision maker. Not our parent or our priest. Or our God. Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

What were you watching? I was referring to CSpan2 Book TV on Sunday where he spoke about his upcoming book. He was an intelligent and articulate speaker. He also gave an interesting perspective on the changing politics (rep and dem) since the sixties. It was refreshing again to hear a former/president speak and not giggle or cringe. Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

And who says it was ever a priority to have elect a morally superior president? Throughout history we've elected great decision makers who were 'colorful' in their private lives. Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

ehhh...you're quoting OBL as a character reference for Clinton? Wonder what he has to say about Bush? Wonder what world leaders have to say about Bush? Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

Hi Ian, don't sweat it. You're a smart, safe and obviously thoughtful person.
