I think that he has a problem with the fact that they accept skyride tickets. Plus it's just a tandem mill operation..not really lots of fun jumpers.. two or three teams train there and tandem mill... that's about it...

How do you think I feel??? 48 hours away!!! Billy! your Married.. if you know what's good for you you would NOT do that.
-
There were quite a few of us who could not make it this time for several reasons - Andrew C, health; myself, young kid and finances; Mike Sweet, newly married and finances. We do however, owe you Europeans a DWR somewhere in Europe.

Loss of left hand but wanting to jump?!?!
mx757 replied to Bandit589's topic in Skydivers with Disabilities
if jump without a prosthesis you'll need to be sure you can reach the bake line toogles after opening to release them. I'd release the left toogle first one farest away from your good hand...you'll need to release the right toogle quickly too or it'llstart to spin on you.. I always grabbed both toogle on my right hand and released them together.. train on your gear before you jump... everything going to be different for you.. -
Loss of left hand but wanting to jump?!?!

you can jump with out a prothesis... Mike Morley of Ohio does and so do couple other members of the Pieces of eight... Mike Smith is one I can recall off top of my head.. Mike Moreley is amputee at shoulder and he jumps both rounds and Squares.. your gear will require modifcations to ensure you can do your EP (Emergency Procedures) you might want to look into having the rig set up with a SOS (single operation system) for the cutaway and reserve for one hand operation set up on right side. My rig (a racer) is set up this way. I could let you use rig if you need to to train / jump on it as it would cost you lot for new gear or have older gear set up like that... Nancy LaRiviere of Jumpshack www.jumpshack.com can set you up on gear custom made for you.. as Dan G said in the post above.. you can skydive... you'll just have to adapt a little bit and modify your gear a bit so you can do your EP / flare for landings etc. -
I'm one of the Pieces of Eight members...I use a prothesis, but thee are several who don't.. Mike Morley of Ohio jumps with just one hand.. he's a amputee at the shoulder.. just be sure you can grip & HOLD the toggle without it coming of tirning low or in flare... you might want to look into discussing with your rigger to shorten the brake / steering lines a bit? Mike

My frend Sally Strawn a cat Dr of DVM said: vomiting and lumps could be related or separate issues. hard to say without seeing it, of course, but if the lumps are from an allergy (and any cat, even inside, can have allergies - often airborne pollens, etc.), and if the cat is licking more because of the bumps, or even just while shedding, and swallowing more hair, that can lead to vomiting. In that case, the vomiting usually happens right after the cat eats and then they'll wait a while and eat without vomiting. The hair irritates the inside lining of the stomach, then when the cat eats or drinks, stomach acid is released, hits the irritated stomach lining, and the cat feels uncomfortable and throws up. The best thing for vomiting from consuming hair is to feed a hairball diet (higher in fiber) and of course brush the cat daily to get rid of loose hair. The more you get out in the brush, the less there is to go down the cat! The lumps could easily be allergic - far more common than tumors, though there are some that cats can get. The only way to tell for sure is to biopsy one. If they are distributed all over the body, and especially since there was some itching on the face, I'd think of either an inhaled allergy (pollens which are common this time of year, dust, etc - Spring and Fall are the most common allergy times) or a food allergy. Any change of diet before the bumps showed up?? It's not at all unusual for cats to react to Benadryl - lots of them can't take it and may need steroids instead of antihistamines to control allergies. If the vomiting is not just after eating, or if the kitty is not eating as well or losing weight, then there may be something more going on. Inflammatory bowel disease is common in cats, but there are many other causes too. If the kitty is maintaining his weight and acting otherwise normal (which it sounds like he is), I'd sure start with brushing daily and feeding a hairball diet, plus whatever hairball medicine the doctor dispensed. Plus trying to figure out any changes (especially diet) that might have occurred just before the bumps showed up.... trying to figure out what he might be allergic to... though again it may be inhaled/ pollens/ etc.
