Please see the compatibility list. Unfortunately, Not every camcorder with a D connector has the remote functionality. It is actually a fairly new interface. Glad you guys like it, its been 6 months in the making. The key sequences really are not that bad. It looks bad in the video because I was not paying attention and missed it the first time around . I'll fix it on the next video. I'm not an actor, just a dork trying to pay for ever increasing cost of jump tickets

Check it under a scope. The camera sends out 5.6v to power the controller. The "lanc" signal however runs at 2.5v on the underwater housing and I would assume the sony controller. The cameye physically drives this line to 5v and it appears the camera clamps it down to 4.5v. Lets hope it doesn't blow up that port and screw up your camera. HYPOXIC

how many actual 3-way teams are there out there now?
bomb420 replied to genfreefly's topic in Freeflying
I think there is another team forming at eloy... And no I'm not a part of it... hmmmm Ilea, it sure would fix my flying fast.. -
I have a few thoughts on this mod. 1) You'll need to make yourself a cable. The two lines that are needed are not within any AV/D cables I've modified. It becomes pretty hairy and you'll need some good soldering skills. 2) Sony's AV Remote controllers works at the line level of 2.5v. By using this mod, it force this line to 4.5volts. With that said, if there is no protection on this, you can shorten the life of this port. -Trunk HYPOXIC

Anyone Ever Saved By Another Skydiver In FF?
bomb420 replied to SkyHigh04's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Saw one a little while ago, full skyvan tracking dive along flight path. All extremely experienced jumpers. Leader exited first, others followed, some from the rear of the plane tracked back toward the dive, then pulled a gainer to follow the dive. Well with that speed they closed in way to fast and one person hit really hard and basically knocked himself out. A Yuma MFFI instructor noticed this, dived towards him and flipped him towards the air since he was on his back. This woke him up, pulled and landed himself safely. Its freaky watching this from the knocked out persons' perspective. Moral, always track at an angle to jump run, or have the leader exit last out of a skyvan. Or make sure no one starts tracking back... HYPOXIC -

Wow... so how long have you been jumping camera? Sounds like you'll fit right in I like your setup. Too bad new sony camcorders don't have a ADC for video in. The only part of your setup that I think i'm confused about is how you merge the text onto the video during capture. Just a little research... From a geek, I like it, great work! -Trunk HYPOXIC -

Have you formatted it from the cx7? Do you have any videos on it? Where did you get the pro duo and what size is it? Mine shows up as a drive with no problems. I don't have mine here with me now, but I don't think you can go from the card reader directly into sony's utility. I generally copy the folder over onto my PC then use vegas to work with it. I do think the sony utility will "search" through the folders if you place it in your my pictures directory. I don't have my workflow as clean cut as say DSE, I'm sure they have suggestions. But back to your original question, I would try reformatting the card with the camera. Hopefully you did not get a sony clone. How to spot a clone HYPOXIC

Another favorite, but along the same lines, is "starter" ink cartridges for printers and "starter" water filters for refrigerators. Man, I've had sales people tell me up and down that even though the part is the same model number, and in the case of the water filter, no feedback, that they will last a very short period of time. Best Buy is by far the worst about this! They must get it in training somewhere because its across the board. Suprised there has not been a class action lawsuit against them, because it is blatantly wrong! HYPOXIC

Exactly.... (mil not millimeter/meter..) Schumacher typically marks it and then cuts it with a dremel. He's got really really steady hands. Carbon fiber is very interesting stuff, keep it away from electronics, lens.... well pretty much everything oh and lungs and eyes... HYPOXIC

Just was watching people reconnect RDS' this weekend and seemed tedious and a long process. Now if a streamlined system could be made not requiring a slider.... Guys, Thanks for the history lesson. I need to look up all those past methods. -Trunk HYPOXIC
-
So I was just reading the RDS thread from the swoop forum and asked myself, is there another way to slow down the opening of a canopy without a slider?.... Now before you flame me, this is just a hypothetical question. Instead of using air resistance can we come up with another mechanism to use? Just seems this method has been around for years without really any dramatic changes. Hell, perhaps there will be no need for an RDS. Just a dorky engineer pondering... HYPOXIC

Already considering spending more time in the tunnel and less jumping... Man I love flying my canopy though :-( I will never stop, just change the ratio HYPOXIC

From what I hear, whoever wins, gets the cover. Come on now, how bad arse would it be to have a skydiver on the cover of a highly distributed magazine? A magazine poised towards "manly" men who are too scared to jump out of a plane. "Hell, here is this gorgeous lady who is an amazing skydiver, and I'm too much of a wuss to do it"... don no, think it will be neat though.... I'd buy the issue. http://www.mensfitness.com/polls/337 -Trunk HYPOXIC

The same happened to me. Thanks for that link, wish I saw it a few months ago. Thankfully I got a refund too. Yeah, the 4G just does not cut it. Speaking of which, anyone else have issues with third party batteries with the CX7? Moral of the story, buy genuine sony... HYPOXIC

Church has Abundance of New Borns The Associated Press Article Last Updated: 11/19/2008 Posted: 7:14 AM- YBOR CITY, Fla. – A southwest Florida church has a lot to be excited about this month; it seems half of its congregation has given birth to healthy new born babies. Outsiders are still curious as to why 60 families in all have popped out babies within the same month. Onlookers exclaim, "Must be the water!" Ha! HYPOXIC
