  2. Hello, I am trying to upgrade my Zenitar 16mm to something with auto aperture. I know most people here got the Sigma, but being so close in price I wonder if the Canon won't be a better value... Has anyone tried both and can speak pros and cons? Optical quality... build quality... I know someone alerted about fog issues with the Canon but I know a guy who jumps one and he has no fogging problems, so maybe it's a problem specific to local conditions...?? Any help would be appreciated! Blue Skies Carlos Carlos Martins Portugal www.cj.smugmug.com
  3. SkysufCam Thanks for the excellent lens review - it would deserve a separate thread! You prolly know CAnon's 15 mm F2.8. Could you please analyze this one... Thanks again! Carlos Martins Portugal www.cj.smugmug.com

  7. Ouch! Same happened to me one month ago under a Sabre 2 170. I was three weeks down - sore ribs on the front side and distended back muscles. Luckily I wasn't wearing my stills, 500 gr more and I think I could have cracked my neck. I think it was my fault. Probably I was still tracking. The N-VertigoX stayed on head, though... 9. Hi, I've made two illustrations about the crop factor on digital SLR's. As it is a subject that is quite recurrent here, I'm posting this two pictures. Hope it helps someone understanding the crop factor issue. PS:Please note that the proportions between the cropped frame at 1.6 and the full frame may not be accurate. This is just for illustration. 12. Brian, Hi! I've replied without realizing who was asking!
  13. Don't forget the russian's 16 mm like Zenitar. I am using the kit lense (18-35) with a 0.5 converter that threads in front of it (just like a camcorder). The result is something like a 14mm on a 35mm (full frame camera). It's a heavy setup that has troubles to keep focused, but I am having fun. I've ordered the Zenitar 16 mm from e-bay and I'm waiting for it to arrive. It will work like a 26 mm on the 300D, so I'll have to shoot farther away. Or aim carefully.
  14. Thank you very much guys (and gal)
  15. HI Everybody, I am trying to set up a trip (with 6 friends) to Aerograd still this August and we have all the paperwork on hold because of the invitation-to-get-the-ticket-to-get-the-voucher-to-get-the-visa soap opera... We cannot reach no one at Aerograd either by phone or e-mail. We've tried all the addresses and numbers in the website to no avail. Can any of you who've been there assist with a reliable contact? Thanks and BlueSkies, Carlos Carlos Martins Portugal www.cj.smugmug.com
