Who's going to the BPA AGM? And what's your plan?
mr2mk1g replied to BethUK's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Im off to the dinner, but have no room. I know a couple of people who do though so will most likely be crashing with one of them. My house mate slept in the corridor on some cussions he stole from reception the year before last though, so thats not usually a problem -
I am, so long as Im not in a relationship and everyone's happy with it.

Guess if its possible, its gotta be tested as a worst case scenario. -
to turn this story on its head... the criminals actually run towards the police... get in the police car... and are seen red handed... and the police STILL manage to let one of them getaway???

I've been in work now nearly 8 hours and my computer logging system shows I have done 1hour 28 minutes of work Yes thats right, all those little orange folders you usually see down the left of your DZ.com screen are grey. My inbox is full and my outbox is empty. I've done shit all today but get bored. I dont care. In a little over an hour I'll be half pissed. Im so bored I've even started searching on google for dum shit to do and playing flash media games without careing who can see im not working. Who the fuck cares?

stiffer? thus have a better penatrative force? maybe they just struggle less when being loaded. I don't care, I just want a go -
Christ they're horrible arent they. The judge would kick me out of court if I turned up in one of those.

Question: What would you use to test an airplane cockpit windscreen? Source -
In the UK its 24" on a shotgun licence. If its shorter than that its classed as a "sawn-off shotgun" and has to be kept on a full firearms licence. Guess thats little more than interest value to you though.

I had mine broken into this time last week. (exactly). The fuckers jammed a screw driver under the lock to get in then in trying to break the steering lock ripped the whole fucking steering wheel off in their hands! They then went through the car for anything they could nick, left everything they could have nicked, including the sony cd changer in the boot which was moved so I know they touched it (it wasnt even screwed down for god's sake). They left everything, and just walked off. Damn AA wouldnt even take it to a garage for me as it was "vandalism" not a break down. Garage couldn't believe they had actually managed to rip the steering wheel off! They had sheared through an inch thick steel rod! God knows what they were using to pry the thing. Thankfully got it back on the road again in less than a week for about £120. Bastards

Yeah beth's a hottie. We met at the BCPA freshers meet at Cark. We'd spoken on here before and jumped together before we realised we'd spoken. Never did get to help you with your packing. See you next event

Sorry, I forgot "Kung Pow" which is an awesome movie where 1 guy takes apart an original Chinese language film and inserts himself with CG into a newly crafted story line that he dubs. Absolutely hilarious – go rent it / DL it.

"Brain Dead" and "The people from under the stairs" are my two faves but my all time best must be "They lurk" (which is so obscure it isnt even on IMDB). It basically looks like a film students final project, has three entirely unconnected plot lines, a start up sequence which has a monstrous hand pulling a cot towards an air vent with a coat hanger only to be shot at by a screaming mother, and ends with the robbers blowing up a load of zombies in a haunted church very odd.

at last... we share exactly the same sentiments -
It is yes, I've had some long e-mail conversations with him and he's sent me a load more photo's. There are also a load of options on the helmet that he doesnt list on e-bay. Like I said, he's already posted a demo helmet for me to look at and I'll post my thoughts when I've seen it. If it is as good as it looks it will have quite an impact on the competition in this country given how much he's under cutting them. Thanks for the tip off by the way.

That one you mention really is crap. I know the clip you're refering to - I think its from a prog called Real TV or somthing shown in america (?). There's an even worse one about a birdman who can't get his reserve out. He's under a spinning mal (of course this is because hes "adrenaline jumkie madman" or something and is now "spinning to his death"... etc etc). Apart from the usual diatribe of crap you get from the narator the worst bit comes when he starts counting down the altitude "1000ft... 750ft... 400ft... he must get his reserve chute out soon or he'll be dead 300ft... " at that point you actually see the alti on screen and it reads just over 3.5k!!! the narater just gave him a hight of a couple of hundred feet (i forget the exact) and you can clearly read his alti showing 3,500. It really makes you wonder how they expect to get away with it. A little search for "Real TV" will show you how much people hate the program here and just how many people share your anger.

I am basically doing exactly the same as you right now. I am saving a lot of money by buying a helmet from a new manufacturer in Germany. I spoke to him on the phone yesterday and he's sending me a demo helmet to take a look at. It's basically the same design as the FF2 but has a couple of nicer styling features. Its also got what I think is posably the best cutaway system on the entire market where the whole chin cup comes away rather than just one side. I'll have to see what the demo's like though so I'll keep you posted. For a camera, think about PC101. Its basically a PC105 without a flash (when are you gonna need that right) but beacuse its no longer made its much cheeper. I can find a dealership sold PC103 for £420 in the US although you have to factor in the pain of customs which may well add a ton onto the price so you may be just as well buying within Europe. You can find good deals on Ebay, just be careful you dont get screwed. The best thing to do would be to ask the seller if you can pick the camera up and pay in cash. If they say no, don't bid. Then actually do that - so if they are selling you some crap you can walk away. Where ever you are in the country you can probably make it to them for only a little over what it would cost to post - and that extra buys you peace of mind.

Two cypres fires I know of this season - one at my home DZ, one in the US. 1st guy is hit in freefall diving to a formation; general consensus of oppinion is he was on a dive above is experiance level: He was doing something dumb. 2nd guy hits his head on tail during emergancy exit. No one else did - he did a student exit and jumped up while exiting during a climbing pass and thats why he hit his head: He was doing something dumb. But the problem is you don't always/often don't know something is dumb until after it happens (if you do then more fool you). You can say "I aint gonna do anything dumb" all you like, but the guy who hit his head on the tail thought he was doing a nice stable exit for a hop+pop... only afterwards did he find out it was the wrong thing to do. No one plans to do something dumb, dumb stuff just happens. An AAD will save you from some of that dumb stuff if you're lucky. So long as your friend makes up their mind based on the information - fine... its a free world and they can choose to do that. If they are doing it on only some of the info then thats bad juju, educate them. If they still come to a decision other than yours - then you'll just have to accept that, thats their prerogative. -
I buy beer... I sank arround £50 into my A licence beer.... since then I've bought beer for every First Ive had, even some which others would argue with. I look forward to buying many more beers in the future.

Hey c'mon now... using "fag" to mean cigarette goes back ages stemming from the word "fagot" meaning a role or bundle of sticks you set fire to (think flaming torch)... see the connection to a cigarette now? As to why Amerenglish sees it fit to apply the word for homosexuals; well, you have me. But I think its clear who corrupted what.
