  1. and it caused someone to need their cypres on just such an exit last year, out of an otter no less.
  2. ... if you based it on our population as in all the other states we'd have somewhere in the region of 108. Would make the UK one of the most important places to call.
  3. Pilot/Safire 2/Sabre2 I'm undecided between the Pilot and the Safire... the Sabre 2 (in my opinion only!) is inferior to the other two.
  4. PC 101 or PC 105. Cheap as chips now and have everything we need. Most newer camera's haven't actually added anything and in some cases have taken away. E-bay's your best bet for finding one. Always snipe. That's if I was going for value for money mind... if I wanted the best on the market and didn’t mind paying for it, I'd get a 330.
  5. When the pilot cut's for run in they don't just adjust the speed, but also the trim of the plane. I can name a couple of planes where you'd brain yourself pretty good on the tail if there was no "cut". Look at pics of the new PAC 750XL for example... in flight the tail is lower than the top of the door and the foot rail under the door for floaters to stand on is slanted down towards the tail at quite a violent angle. As if by magic however, on jump run the tail is way above the top of the door and that nasty slanted float rail is perfectly level with the ground.
  6. I hate to break it to you dude... but given the massive majority Kerry would have had in the UK had you annexed us back in 1776... that ol' 1% of the vote Georgy won by wouldn't mean a lot and you just annexed yourself ol' horse face into office. (edit - pretty funny re-write mind)
  7. But, we like the spoon. Cos it is close to us - closer than the moon! (edit - their version of destiny's child is fantastic)
  8. Dunno about convicting them... but you've got a couple of hundred possible terrorists held in prison without charge. Course no one knows if they're actually terrorists as the govt. hasn't tried and convicted them of anything.
  9. Who do you hate more – Human Resources or Lawyers? My Christmas holiday at the Empuria boogie is in jeopardy because the Human Resources lady couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery. Silly fucktard. She’s about as much use as a chocolate teapot. She’s had my holiday card now since the end of September and only today do I find out that I may not get the holiday I booked off. On top of it all, when I complained to the senior partner I find out she’s lied to him and told him that the problem only arose because I changed the dates of my holiday? WTF? She’s had the form since September! That’s before the people with whom there’s a holiday conflict even started work at this firm! How in the hell am I supposed to have changed it? Why the hell would I try to change it after I started booking flights and accommodation back in sept? Anyway… I know lawyers are pretty well hated in society in general. But I know human resources are hated too… just thought this poll might cheer me up a little.
  10. Tell your client the memory stick has lost the data but that you are willing to pay for a professional data recovery company to try and recover the images. This way you temper the bad news with (a) hope, and (b) the fact that you are doing all you can to get the photographs back. Besides - you might be able to get the data back this way.
  11. I only got stalked a little bit...
  12. Now those are funny... I want some of those!
  13. hehe - not really. See none of us are that worried about what you do in your own country. We're quite happy for you to do as you like and are willing to support you in it - it's your home after all, why would any sane individuals want to interfere with that?
  14. That's exactly what we keep telling you PJ. You are a source of humour to us all. I know from numerous private conversations that I don't only speak for myself in this – a lot of posters feel this way. No one takes anything you say remotely seriously - you are simply seen as a whack job. People laugh at what you post and more tellingly at you yourself. Your over-the-top manner of posting completely undermines anything of worth that you may have to say. I'm sorry if this is seen by you as an insult - it is intended as far from it. I am merely trying to relate to you the way in which you are viewed by many of the posters on this forum. Think about what you are posting and why you are doing it. Think about how it's received. People here only know you from your posts and I can tell you that you don't come over particularly favourably. Calm down. Peace.
  15. Don't worry PJ, everyone needs a figure of amusement.
  16. It's not English, and it's not about a "just" war... but it is one of my favorite poem/prayers. If you are able save for them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go. Be not ashamed to say you loved them though you may or may not have always. Take what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own. And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one gentle moment to embrace those gentle heros you left behind.
  17. Should we start laughing and pointing now or wait till he's finished?
  18. Isn't there a way we can switch his posts off? I thought there was some way we could do that? No one actually pays any attention to his ramblings anyway... we might as well. It's like one of those mad bible guys that stands in a city centre shouting at everyone that Jesus is going to save them... and everyone just keeps on walking, ignoring him. The guy never converts anyone because it's just mad ramblings and shouting. I’m sure you can all imagine him, bible guy that is, stood in shabby clothes, ranting, waving his bible, red in the face, a small amount of foam collecting at the corners of his mouth. Very sad really when you think about it. You've gotta wonder what kinda life the bible guy lives - to have nothing better to do with his time than to stand on a street shouting at people who don't give a damn about his mad ramblings. PJ - seriously, give it up. No one cares what you think. You're in danger of turning into bible guy...
  19. Do they work on men? Do they need anyone to volunteer for a study?
  20. In war, as in skydiving, you can do everything right and still get killed (/sunk).
  21. Ballence your risks. Put risks the AAD adds on one side of a scale and risks it takes away on the other... which is heaviest? I bet it takes away more than it adds. Add risk 1) cost - could get current or canopy coaching (perhaps you can't afford the sport at all... or shouldn't afford the sport). 2) psychological - you believe you'll be safe as you have an AAD and therefore go on dives you shouldn't... easy to avoid - don't do the dive. 3) two out - should only happen after you've already fucked up anyway, not nessaserily life threatening even if you do end up there. 4) premature... I am not aware of any instances of this with a cypres barring RF interferrance which should now have been solved. Reduced risk 1) no pull due to unconciousness - has killed many and many have been saved by their AAD - continues to kill people without an AAD 2) no pull due to innattention - has killed many and many have been saved by their AAD - continues to kill people without an AAD 3) no pull due to brain fart - has killed many and many have been saved by their AAD - this is why students are required to use one, their heads are flatulent. Someone should do a graphic with big weights representing an issue that kills/has killed a lot of people and small weights representing a less significant issue.
  22. Be careful to distinguish between people who post about sabre 1's and sabre 2's. Despite the fact that they are very different canopies every time I see a thread like this you get many posts from people talking about totally the wrong model. Sabre 1's had a big reputation for slamming people. This aspect could largely be controlled with packing technique. I bet you get posts here about Sabre 1 experiances... (in amungst posts about sabre 2's) I don't know if they translate at all to the Sabre 2... as far as I was aware they are similar in name alone. Also remember not all canopies of the same design open the same. My old sabre 1 had wonderfully soft openings for example... some spectres have been observed to consistently slam open. Finally remember that there is a low incidence of extremely hard openings that can only be put down to chaos theory. Not due to canopy design or an error in packing or piloting... but just that big unpredictable burble. Ie one slammer opening does not a monster make.
  23. um... this is kinda what you ask for: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=29941; (it's a gif though so you can save it and stuff)
  24. Buy similar pens and pot to work then glue pens into pot and leave on desk. He'll get in a strop with you but you've not done anything to company property... course they may not see the funny side...
  25. You're right. The legislation they're whinning about dates back to 1953. I can't be arsed to check what the situation was before that but is likely to have been similar. We have rules prohibiting the carrying of weapons in public places dating back something like 10 centuries... I simply can't fathom the sudden interest in changing the status quo.
