    Yes, I know this to be true. If the container was closed without the use of tools, a 10" PC will pull the pin. (Source, the man that invented the curved pin) Pulling the bag out of the tight corners is the same thing as lifting the weight of the canopy, since the canopy is in the bag. And yes it takes more force to lift the bag with the canopy in it then it does to pull the pin. And the reason for your skepticism of this fact would be..........? Yes it did make it wrong. How did the canopy manufacture know the size and shape of the container that the canopy was going in. And yes it is ancient history and yes I am old enough to remember it.     A 15" PC will pull the pin/open the container. And a pouch made of spandex, in good condition and properly installed will hold a 15" PC. The critical factor is if the PC will produce enough drag to pull the bag out of the container. Larger canopies weight more and the PC must overcome the corner design of some containers. Hell, at one time your "D" bag came with the canopy, not the container. That didn't make it right. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

    A big factor in rolling the nose is the depth of the cells, the distance from the top skin to the bottom skin. The greater that distance the more the opening will benefit from rolling the nose. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

    Lew, The main should take a canopy around 475 cu. in. There should be a letter for the reserve container size. You can find it under the reserve protective flap up on the yoke. I am guessing it is a C or D and that is around 400 cu. in. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

    The canopy in a MC-4 is an MT-1X canopy. They pack the same. Roll the nose tightly to the A lines and then fold the A lines on top of the B lines. Take care that the roll starts at the bottom of the cells and closes them off completely. A stow band can not cause a bag lock. If the stow is not trapped by other lines, the band will break if it does not clear. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Learning how to skydive by the hit and miss method can take you the rest of your life. bertusgeert: Ask one of the instructors or approach one of the more experienced big way jumpers at your DZ and ask them for advise.
