  1. Generally speaking a nine cell main has a greater aspect ratio than a 7 cell reserve. Because of this your reserve will be much less likely to have a line over. And for the same reason if your does happen to throw a line over it will be easier to clear. This is not to say it won’t happen on your next jump though. 2. How would you determine what line/s to cut? Do you what lines are more critical to the canopy flying. To just start cutting lines on a reserve could very easily put you in a worse situation. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  3. And you like willyskycam, need to come up with a few facts. Like who are you? My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  9. No more calls we have a winner. The one in the middle is wearing a curved pin.
  10. That plane was flown by 2 of the best pilots in the world and they both were wearing rigs.
  11. Funny how it's only the guys doing stupid shit that get flamed, eh? You are very observant Grasshopper.
  12. That wouldn't be the same Mahoney that drove a van call "Airgasm" would now?
  13. People usually get piss when the obvious is pointed out to them. Practically when the obvious is not what they want to hear. I have never seen Ron at anyone’s throat, but I have seen pointing many times. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  14. As I posted earlier, have you ever been in an aircraft during an inflight emergency? I have. You never know when or where something like this will happen to the plane you are in. If the pilots do not have rigs that does not mean I don't want one. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  15. Yea, but the girls like the cute way I walk. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  16. No, I will leave that up to you. Just remember to spell my name right. But I will start a new thread if I jump someone else’s gear, lose it and try to beat them out paying for what I lost.
  17. Not at all. In the world of military contracts I think you find that response lacking. But that's not what you said is it? ISO certs are fun and all but most industries are comming off that buzz. You right, companies doing business with the Federal Government are probably not all that modern. And while "most industries are coming off the buzz" Uncle Sam is still insisting on sticking to it. At least they did on the last few contract/programs I work on. 18. Your post was a very pleasant surprise when I clicked it. Everyone who has a few hundred jumps and a few years in the sport should make a point of being this guy, “You know the one, the guy who jumps with low timers to see the joy on their face and their skills improve.” If the jumpers that have a few and have been around a few think back someone once did it for you. Try to count up all the times someone you looked up to said “yea you can go on this jump”. He knew you would fuck it up but he was giving you the same opportunity someone once gave him. For a number of years I made a point of making a few jumps every month with someone under 100 jumps. They would try to pay for my slot and I would just brush it off knowing that I got far more out of it then they did. You see the look on their face in freefall and listen to them re-tell the jump at freefall speed once on the ground. At the end of the day it just makes your world a little nicer place to be. Give it a try you will like it. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  19. I gave you my opinion very early in this tread. But I sure that is not what you want to hear. "What’s your rush to go small? For your weight and experience level PD recommends a Sabre2 210 and 218 reserve. Knock of one size because they are so conservative and you have a Sabre2 190 and 193 reserve. " It will take you 200 to 300 jumps to get even close to flying a Sabre2 190 anywhere near its potential. A 190 can kill you just as dead as a 120 but if you are careful it will be much more forgiving of the mistakes that you will make. And you will make mistakes. If in the next 300 to 500 jumps you continue to downsize every 75 to 100 or so jumps you will cheating yourself. You will not spend enough time on any one canopy to learn even the basics well. With each step down you will almost be back at square one. (that would be a good name for a gear store) Only a part of what you learn on a 170 can be carried over to a 150 and so on. Parachutes do not scale. When they get smaller they fly different, their lines get shorter and your chance of getting killed or injured go way up. As I said before, this is just my opinion so go with what you think you can handle. I have always said that pain is a good teacher. But to learn the lesson it doesn’t have to be your pain. Like Mick, I am done here. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  21. And Bill is being very gentle with you. Others would deal with you in a fare more appropriate manner. Your attitude reminds me of what someone once called the “Entitlement Generation”. I wish you luck in skydiving, you will need it.

  25. Thank you, that clears up some of the questions. But some important ones still remain. For one, who might you be? I would call that trolling for an answer that will support his position regardless of what the facts might indicate. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
