It’s a combination of your body measurements and the canopies you plan on putting in it. Like Buff said go to someone who knows what they are doing and they can help you fill out the form. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Reserve slink to attach bridle (#5 Grommet)
mjosparky replied to audiobahn18s's topic in Gear and Rigging
I know you know this but for those that are wondering what we are taking about look in PPM Vol. I page 147. It shows flat washer grommets in size 9/16” and 7/16”. They are used with cones for closing old military containers. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
I was aware of that Jerry. I am sort of on the fence on this one. If each ripcord is proof tested to the requirements of AS-8015B Section 4.3.1 and 4.3.2.4 I think they would hold up. I am not sure how many of the manufactures really do testing on all of their ripcords. I have not tried this but I think that if the cable moves at all in any pin you would be able to see it where the cable enters the pin. What do you think? Pin come in basically 2 versions. Intermediate pins and terminal pins. The intermediate pin can look bent but is build with a bend in it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/53825637@N06/5547810073/ The terminal pins are straight and symmetrical. http://www.flickr.com/photos/53825637@N06/5548393162/ It sounds like you are not a rigger so you may want to have one look it over. If it is bent good catch on your part. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

NEED INFO FOR LINE/RIGGING A 1960 C9 28' CANOPY
mjosparky replied to nyjoehere's topic in Gear and Rigging
If that is the case then he is on his own. No way am I going to replace any lines on a C-9. JerryBaumchen PS) I 'kinda' thought that from his post, but since he does not seem to know too much about those canopies ( and that is not to be negative towards him ) is why I did a rather elaborate reply. Hell Jerry it would only take a 1000 feet of line and 2 weeks. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

You may not look where you are going when you do RW but I do. They may navigate but they are still in freefall. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Reserve slink to attach bridle (#5 Grommet)

#4 grommet is 1/2" and a #5 is 5/8". Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
I to like to see different ideas and have come with a few myself over the years. Just pointing out that the MLW on a base rig is not cluttered up with thing like reserve ripcord handles, cutaway handles (?) and articulating rings. This thing may cause a problem mounting the knife configured like it is. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I don't think 3 times - not 90 pounds. I know of tests that show up to 70 pounds, but ultimately it'll depend on airspeed. On hop-and pops, it'll be much less than 70. Anyways, to the original poster - as long everything is in good shape and packed correctly, the pin will come out. _Am A hand deploy pilot chute in decent will produce over 100 pounds of drag. On a very tight pack job it will take no more than 10 pounds to pull a curved pin. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Yes And that the MLW on a jump rig is different than on a base rig? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

NEED INFO FOR LINE/RIGGING A 1960 C9 28' CANOPY

Hey Jerry, I think what they are dealing with is a surplus C9 that had the lines cut off before being sold to the civilian market. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Jumping with a small banner tomorrow.
mjosparky replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
IMHO, You're putting WAY too much thought into this. A bit of plastic/nylon covering the a/c control surfaces wouldn't make any difference in this case. If you would like to prove me wrong, then please link an article where someone flying z 3'x2 1/2' banner brought down an airplane. If you cant do this than my opinion still stands. When you are doing “stunt” skydive there is no such thing as “too much thought”. Taking any skydive lightly is a good way to end up dead. And I don’t have to prove you wrong to know you are wrong. Your caviler attitude is not a problem until it affects other people like the pilot or his airplane. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

wingsuit landing without parachute project
mjosparky replied to profesorlino's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
And so do wing suit flyers, gliders and people under parachutes. They are falling just like a jumper without a wing suit just slower. Back in the day they wore huge suits for RW and were able to slow down to under 100 mph but they were still in freefall. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Same as jumping out of a plane in the first place really, with your attitude I am surprised you condone jumping at all. One signature allowing it and you will be all for it.... What? Matt Matt, You express an opinion and he calls it attitude. He expresses and opinion and thinks it is gospel. I suspect a lot of personal issues. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
