    Do you really want to go to the nearest 'low cost' Dr? Confidentiality? How about asking for references? I've moved more than a few times in the last 5 years. When I want a doctor, I ask around. I think it probably is in law. How many commercials have you seen where lawyers promise to get you money, with no cash up front? Doctors on the hand, most people want the absolute best medical care that they can afford. I don't think that competition is nearly as important as reputation. Looking for a great doctor? I don't think you'd dare try telling a college professor or maybe a publisher that all of your claims are real, but that they need to do some research to figure it out.     I'd be willing to bet that you're wrong about this one. Rather has a long history of manipulating the story and showing his liberal bias.     Campaigning? I think it probably helps, otherwise they likely wouldn't spend the time, money, and effort to do it.     Even a tax write-off doesn't pay for (and wouldn't begin to pay for) the cost of the upgrade. A tax credit would, but then what does one do about the lost revenue?
