These terrorists are pathetic ASSHOLES!! COWARDS!!
Jimbo replied to rhino's topic in Speakers Corner
A sizable minority? I'll bet that there's maybe three people here who ever advocated that policy. I said it a while back, I think you and Kallend and a few others on the left side of the fence mention this more than anyone else. I'm certain that the group mentioned above has used it more in recent history than anyone else. Bill, do you think it's about time that we add the phrase "glass fucking parking lot" to Godwin's law? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -

Why is it barbarism? Left alone, that's exactly what the dogs would do, it's how they survied for thousands of years before Alpo and Puppy Chow hit the market. That's nature, and I hardly think you can call it barbarism. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -
Mostly resolved with talks? Diplomacy without reprecussions is worthless. If it wasn't for the men on the ground and in the air with the ability to erase that country from the map in a matter of days, your precious diplomacy would have accomplished NOTHING. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. What will your excuse be in the next election? Should we only vote for third parties when the election isn't close, but rather tilted in favor of one candidate? Reasonable by whose standards? Yours? Maybe, but that hardly makes their position on issues that are important to them unreasonable. To them, and to those who would support them, they are anything BUT unreasonable. I think I agree with you with regards to the hell freezing over comment, however, it will never happen as long as attitudes like the one you've displayed are prevelant. People complain about the two party system, but aren't willing to do anything to change it. That's wonderful. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Quade, it is exactly this attitude that has left us with what is essentially a two party system. Voting for the person who best represents your views is hardly a wasted vote. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Of course that's always an option. Consider though: There are plenty of canopy messes that just can't be solved by a hook knife. If a problem is able to be solved by a hook knife it's unlikely that you'll have the time to solve it if you're already low. Additionally, I was responding to someone who said something about "students will never get that low with a bad canopy". The point was that any of us could start with a perfect canopy and end up with a ball of shit at any time. I don't know where you made the leap to "it can't get bad enough as long as you are high enough to pull a reserve with a skyhook". - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. I would like to know, if you voted for the Libertarian party, did you even bother to research the others? Do you know what they represent? Why didn't you vote for another party? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

1. Students, by their nature, are unpredictible. 2. There's more than one way to end up with a fouled canopy. The first thought that comes to mind is a collision. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

As it should be. I don't know that there is an American citizen who hasn't registered with the Selective Service on or before his 18th birthday. Every American citizen knows, or should know, that there is a possibility that he might be called upon to serve his country. Serve his country, the country that provides him freedom. Serve his country, the country that provides him shelter from many of the world's ills. Serve his country, the country that provides him a standard of living higher than probably any other country on this planet. Serve his country, the country that has vowed to take care of him when he is unable to do so. Serve his country . . . The point is, living in the United States isn't free. There is ALWAYS the possibility that we might be called upon to serve, and whether we like it or not, whether we agree with it or not, it is our duty to do so. There's a price to pay for all that we enjoy; fortunately, most of us will never be called on to repay that debt, but when we are, it is our duty to pay it back in full. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. Why does one have to be a lie? It seems to me that both statements are true. Anti-american sentiment in the muslem world has likely increased - though I think that Anti-western would be a more appropriate description. As far as Iraq is concerned, things are improving there - you'll just never hear about it on your local 11 o'clock news. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Aren't these two statements contradictory? The slower you go, the faster the canopy opens. A good horizontal track will definitely slow your vertical descent. Maybe I'm just tired, but this makes no sense at all to me. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

They absolutely can. Opening high and having a good canopy up high is hardly a guarantee that you'll have a good canopy down low. Now, on the subject of canopy transfers - that's something for student and instructor. Absolutely. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Could a homeowner's gun have saved this woman's life?

As long as you're not avoiding things do you think that you could take a few minutes and answer the question I posed here, and again here? Both questions are in response to the following exchange: And then you replied: No. Much better to have strict gun control. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -

Why does England currently have a gun problem? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -
What's good about it? The only way I can imagine you'd get to people not shooting each other over resources is to either: (a) create a truely communist society, or (b) take away all the weapons. Neither is appealing. I suppose there's option (c), too: a frontal labotomy for everyone. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

How do you feel about the police carrying firearms? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -
Angela, I think what she said was that most doctors do that, but -you- have to let them know that you're in a pinch. Where do you get this idea that doctors don't care about their patients? That is contradictory to what Peregrinerose posted earlier. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
