You do realize that your statement is true for almost any country in modern times, right? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  2. Given the significance of religion in world events both past and present, I couldnt agree more. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  3. Got a link? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  4. This from one of the available articles: Do you think he's right? Are we hypersensitive to Christianity while ignoring other religions? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  5. Don't bother with the link, people. It's the whole "a plane never flew into the Pentagon" thing. I'll ask you the same question I asked Rhino when he posted this a few weeks ago: Where are the people who were on that flight? Solve that and you'll be a national hero. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  6. So Republicans are obsessed with Michael Moore and BillVon is obsessed with Republicans. It all makes sense now. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  7. Sure, it could be. But until it -is- neither creationism or evolution is a sure thing. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  8. Like maybe the missing link(s)? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  9. Front page of one of the local Sunday papers the other day said that schools would begin teaching 'Intelligent Design', or whatever that mix of creation and evolution is. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  10. Are you sure about that? http://www.themercury.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5936,11450540^421,00.html - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  11. I don't hate you, but if you must feel persecuted, then by all means, do. I am not demeaning your service, but simply because you served doesn't make you anti-military, anti-guard, or anti-war. There are plenty who have served and are anti-military. Is everyone else who served in the National Guard in the 60s and 70s also a draft-dodger? Do you know that guard units -did- serve in Vietnam? And that all could have? Now that's just silly. No, it doesn't. What qualifies you to be critical is the fact that you are an American citizen. It's the same thing that qualifies me to be critical, Kallend to be critical, and anyone else who wishes to be. This has nothing to do with politics and has everything to do with your demeaning position towards those who have served and those who do serve. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 12. First you say this: It was a semi-kidding parody to describe Bush's military service including getting 1 million dollars free fighter training while never having to have the possibility to actually be in harm's way. Then this: I think you know I wasn't even insulting the guard or reserve. The National Guard troops -are- off fighting in our wars. The National Guard troops are off -dying- in our wars. The National Guard troops are repaying their debt to the United States. How exactly is it that your comments aren't insulting or degrading? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 14. Interesting. They've already got their "field" knives, I wonder they haven't made an entrance into the market of folding knives. That said, I'm not sure that I'd want them diverting resources away from their core business, would you? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  18. The difference between "free_man" and the USPA National Director you speak of, is that pretty much everybody knows who the ND is. Free_man, for some odd reason (or maybe it isn't) is unwilling to share his true identity with us. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  19. Filling out your profile isn't about jump numbers, at least not in the SC. Filling out your profile is all about having the guts to put your name, your personal credibility on the line with regards to what you post. Jump numbers (in this particular forum) mean nothing. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  20. I realize that it was written by Republicans, it's in the article I linked to. Who wrote the law (or rule if you prefer) is irrelevant. Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Green Party, or other, it's a bad rule and it's high time we did away with it. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  21. This "silly" law is a law that would have people in power removed for nothing more than an indictment against them. Not a conviction, an indictment. Did you see the "innocent until proven guilty" comment in my earlier post? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  22. No it's not. Everybody gets their say, right? Everybody has a voice. Or is it only people you agree with who get a say, who get a voice? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  23. Christ, Bill, talk about spin. Do you ever tire of it? Anyhow, according to another article, if -convicted- DeLay and anyone else would be prevented from holding a position of power. It's that whole innocent until proven guilty thing; it's a bitch, isn't it? The way I see is that Republicans are looking at ways to insulate themselves from a silly law, an indictment is nothing. The way I see it, the Republicans are looking to insulate themselves from politically motivated DAs. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  24. That's funny. If I'm not mistaken giving money to charities doesn't make the wealthy any wealthier. It's a greater loss to give money to charity than it is to simply pay taxes on the money if it were kept. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  25. I really do believe that Powell could (have) run, even in 2008, and win by a landslide. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
