  1. When my laptop's CD driver went down I just networked with my desktop and did it wirelessly (airport) through there. Just one more step, but it worked like a charm. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  2. Once you start playing a movie you have 24 hours to finish watching it....not 30 days. You can watch it as much as you want in those 24 hours but at the end of 24 hours This practice is, apparently, consistent with other download rental services according to stuff I have read elsewhere. Because I live in Canada this isn't available yet. I don't know if I'd use it or not. Lori...what is the quality like? Did you download one of the HD movies? Yes, 24 hours to watch it. No problem. I normally don't watch a movie more than once when I rent it anyway. But you have 30 days to begin that 24 hour window. Quality was great on the movie I rented. No gripes there at all. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  3. I've never seen anyone top Japan's jump prices. When I started jumping at Perris there was a freestyle team from Japan there. Major reason for being in the states was the jump price. According to them their lift tickets at home were $100 USD per jump. Each! ltdiver You sure it was not the Korea team?? Very sure. Team was Chifumi and Koji. Both from Japan. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  7. Well, I checked the speed this morning and it was better (see attachment). Not blazing fast by any means. More like the turtle had all 4 legs back instead of hopping around on one. So, since I'm sitting at home again today, I contacted my ISP provider to see what could be done. Troubleshooting did nothing to help (I think they were reading from a book. ). So I asked to speak with Customer Service about different upgrade plans. Looks like I'm upgraded to a 3.0 Mbps with the same price for my effort! (or I could have paid $10 less to keep the same stinking speed). I opted to go faster! So in 5-7 days (the rep said) I should be blazing around the internet like a rabbit instead of the turtle. Pays to complain! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  10. This is a 1.04GB movie I'm trying to download. And it's taking 4 hours. Took a look at my DSL's speed right now (with the download happening at the same time). (see attachment) Sigh ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  11. For those Apple-nerds, you already know. For those who don't follow the latest breaking news at Apple, here's the scoop. Apple just announced this week the ability to RENT movies through their iTune's Store. Click, and it's "better than Netflix". Right there on your computer, with ability to switch to your iPod or iTV playback. Rental yours for 30 days. Sounds great, yes? I got an iTunes card for Christmas...I'm bored (had the week off, not of my own intentional choice...but that's another subject all together). So, decided to have a look-see tonight. Perhaps watch a movie that I hadn't seen before. Right!
  12. If you followed the discussion back at the time this happened, it was stated that someone tipped off their security...So yes they WERE prepared and on the lookout that day. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  15. Stuck at home with a shoulder injury myself. Surgery on the horizon. Also wondering how the 50/50 Fusion fun is going. Kate? Bill? Amy? Helloooooo!
  16. How do I find that out? I mean, I can ask the super when he calls back this afternoon, but is there anywhere else I can look this up? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  17. So here's the scoop. 2 different Takagi installers came by to give estimates. Since the water heater is in a closet (although it's entry is from the outside) there is a need for venting up through the roof. 1st estimate: $2,469. 2nd estimate: $3,000. Rinnai estimate: $3,400. Regular tank water heater purchase and installation: from $800 to $1,100. Since there is only one person in this house (me), a tankless water heater really won't save me $$...even in the long run. NOW, if I had a large family (or used an inordinate amount of water myself) it would be a good consideration. For now, it would just be a 'coolness factor' playing in if I bought one. What DID prove very interesting today: Upon one plumber's suggestion I called the City's Water District Office. I reported alot of sediment in the water coming into my house. ( I thought this was from an old water heater that was just breaking down). They came out today. Just left. They saw the sediment in my house. They went to the main valve in the street...And started to flush (thinking they wouldn't find anything...and thus point to my house having the problem). The "Jones Valve" was opened and WOW!!! The sludge (large amount of sediment) that came through was AMAZING! It even surprised the water rep. Seems that the line we're on is a 'capped line'. It's not connected on 2 ends, so what comes into this area stays. And the line hasn't been flushed for quite awhile. I've lived on this street since 1989 and have never had a sediment problem. This year it ruined my hot water heater! My neighbor just had hers replaced, thinking that it was her tank that was the problem (like I thought of mine). Called the City Water District just now and left a message with the Supervisor there. I'm pointing to the sediment being in my hot water heater (so much so that it would not flush at all) as being the result of their not flushing THEIR lines. I even have a picture to prove it (taken with my cell phone. Will upload later). So there. Let's see what the City has to say about THIS! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  19. Another option is this: http://www.gosedan.com/ this: http://skydiveperristravel.com/ or contact manifest directly and see if anyone's able to go to LAX and pick you up. http://skydiveperris.com/expert.html. We used to have a transportation service (skydiver who lived locally), but she up and moved to Hawaii. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  20. Believe it or not, I always complained about my Spectre-135 opening too fast. I tried methods to slow it down, but all it did was screw it up more and made it start off heading openings. I finally went back to the PD Spectre manual and followed what they advised, except I did -not- roll the nose. The openings slowed down and are beautiful now. If you skipped this step (like I did), take another look: http://performancedesigns.com/docs/MainUsersManual.pdf ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
