  1. Hmmmm....works for me. Here try this link instead. http://www.lightdiver.com/images/rodeo.jpg Screen grab from a video camera a LONG time ago... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  2. I had to laugh at this....maybe it's me but I always pictured it as a 'horse and rider' and not a bull. Now my visual has been changed forever! http://www.lightdiver.com/images/rodeo.jpg.htm ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  3. Right eye, 'cause it just wouldn't work too well over my left... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  4. Jurgen Camps (Belgium) Sorry. Thought you might be a long lost skydiver I met YEARS ago in California. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  5. Just saw the movie tonight. Silly and stupid is what the whole film is about. The frat boys fit right in. They -were- quite drunk, though. Even -that- can't be acted that well. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  6. Jurgen? Dave Jurgen? Is that you? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  7. Tracking back -down- line of flight may only work if the group out before you isn't pulling higher than you are. Frequently (at Perris) the larger group out before our team is flying larger, more docile canopies. Not the greatest plan to be tracking into -their- wake. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  8. Jan, On almost -every- round (save the last one) my team landed out. On Round 9--WAY out. We went to the Meet Director more than once during the meet to request an adjustment to 2 out on a pass, or at least better spots for the 4th team out. We were denied this each time. It was REAL TIME and they would not adjust. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  9. Only if you take into account that Hondas are -the- hottest item for car thieves, too. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  10. Couldn't you just see her at the reception! I'm sure there's bribable stuff there... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Happy birthday, Lou! Great to see you at Nationals! What a treat!!
  12. Are you playing 'keep away' or 'baton pass' with that melon? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  13. ooooo!I hate you! I've wanted an RX8 since they first hit the showroom floor.Too bad I'd just bought a new Chevy Silverado 1/2ton 3months before the RX8 was released. I was drooling over the RX8 before its release, too. Got the Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS which is serving well, but I -still- have to look every time an RX8 passes by. Nice...! One thing that I've really come to love about my GTS is the hatch back. First one I've ever owned and it's been more like a truck to me than any other car I've owned. I've hauled things from mattresses to bricks in the back with no problem loading or unloading. A hatch back is kind of like a car/truck offspring. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  14. So, it hit the news today. BSBD brother. Fly free. http://www.spokesmanreview.com/local/story.asp?ID=158213 ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  15. Billy, I concur on your points. My team was the 4th out of the plane on each competition jump. Most the time I was the only one to make it back to the grass (sometimes the alternate landing area, but that was okay). My team landed out. On one jump (round 9 out of the Elsinore Otter with a "new to National's pilot") even I landed out clear south of the runway by the logo "Fuster Cluck". My team landed FAR SOUTH amongst high tension power lines on that out-landing. We were told when we returned that 'the pilot was confused'. On a National's competition!?! Having won our first National's medal this time around it would sure have been nice to have our peers looking and cheering on. Not to be, although enough of the Perris locals (and thanks Deguello 17) there was some nice 'noise' as we walked to the stage. Yes, we very much enjoyed the build-up on Round 10 (and 11) at Perris last year and perhaps that can return at SDC. One lesson I've learned this year is to scrutinize the schedule when it is published and -not- presume that things will be arranged to the betterment of the competitors automatically. Guess I didn't know better, having been to Nationals since 1997 and believing it was this way each time. Hat's off to the judges and Omniskore. They did the best job ever this time around.
  16. Word is that the better skydiver you are (skygod) the more pungent the gas expelled... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

    Nationals

Perhaps I'm getting very used to it by now, but where I normally jump the wind speed on the camera step is much -higher- at my DZ than at any Nationals so far. And don't get me started about the DZ over the hill.... Word to the wise, don't piss off the pilot! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  18. I'm sure glad to read this, I know someone who has pullup cord as their dive loops, and I thought it looked pretty cool (color contrasts), and had considered it for myself. We were very sure it was a fatality when he hit, yet he lived. Pelvis, legs and back broke in several places. If you think of it, the fibers run lengthwise and allow for stitching thread to pull through that direction when force is applied. Please impress upon your friend to remove these and put the proper webbing in place for their dive loops. If they want more information I can get them this rigger's contact info and hear first hand about the tragedy. He wrote an article for Skydiving Magazine a few years ago, after he had healed up. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  19. Just don't use it as a dive loop on your riser. I know one rigger who did this and when it broke he dove HARD into the ground. Broke alot of bones (and pride) on -that- one. Was out healing the injuries for more than 6 months. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  20. Don't let Scott's "Save the Skysurfers" entry go in vain. Loved his creative last round! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  21. and then fast fowarded through it on the followup review - the moans and groans. It was funny Think it will make it on the official National's DVD? They'd definitely sell more copies if they do! Oh ~Tim~....! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  24. Agreed. I hope the AE continue. However, I heard many many comments from the VRW teams who said they were SO very happy to -finally- have something that was objective. They were so sick of the subjective judging they had to endure with the Freeflying events. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
