Count me in on the not understanding as well. A man might get a picture of a naked woman on his body (see it all the time)...however a woman doing this to herself? ltdiver This reads like you can understand a man finding the female form attractive but you cant understand a female finding the female form attractive. Is that what you mean? Negative. What form a person chooses to permanently scribe on their body means (to me) like a symbol of 'worship and awe'. I can see a man doing this to the female form. Not so much for a married woman to do so (IMHO). Still waiting to hear the narrative on what these symbols actually mean, however... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

And what's the story behind the very unusual art...? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  5. Just to put a fly in this ointment.... It is very true that we don't eat as much when we skydive during that day(s)....however (and I'm pointing my finger at myself here as well) I started putting on weight when I started drinking beer! I've always been thin and never ever drank alcohol...until a few years ago. Yes, it was a skydiver who bought my first one (Halloween party). I've put on about 20 lbs since then and I owe it all to . ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  6. So sorry to read this in the news this morning. Condolences to his friends and family. http://rdu.news14.com/content/your_news/sandhills/default.asp?ArID=94819 Excerpt from the article: "He was looking forward to (going to Iraq)," his father said. "He wanted to lead troops and felt that's what he had been trained to do and wanted to go do it." Calling his son an "extraordinary young man," John Dennison said Ryan was a wrestler and played football in high school. "He was adventuresome, always wanting to do things that were challenging," his father said. Ryan was a member of the Black Knights, West Point's Parachute Team. In 2003 story by ESPN.com about the Black Knights, Ryan Dennison described skydiving: "Put it this way -- picture the wildest, craziest roller coaster you've ever been on. Picture that on steroids. That's what it's like." BSBD, ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  7. Maybe because it's late, but when I read the title of your thread I thought of something else....and why would people have their 'birdies' flying around? So I clicked the thread to find out! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  8. That would be a great interview. Al's one of the coolest guys I've ever met.
  9. Well, at least our JFTC calendar gals got it right! Women Rock!
  10. Thank you for your delineation of the issue to Jan. You understand the issue, bob.dino. Signing out from this thread now. See you guys in SDC!
  11. Ah, look at his requirements. I don't know any point and shoot cameras that have 8+ MP and are adaptable for skydiving (i.e. external remote capability). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  12. Thanks for the update. Some of us were in the Cameraflyer briefing where another bone of contention was being presented. ALL images (video and stills) were to be the property of USPA... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  13. Really? Have you read the latest threads? The hotest ticket is the 400D from Canon.
  14. Depends on the plane, I'm guessing. I've been in competitions when we've done it either way, depending on how the teams on that particular plane want to do it. When it's posted at the loading area, -and- you've asked the Meet Director and been denied, it's nice to know you -can- go higher up. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  15. Which is why I posed the question. Ah, well, my dog's going senile at 14 years old. Perhaps I should wait until she's no longer around before doint this yard upgrade. It may be safe for pets, but with my luck she'd try to eat it. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  16. Talking to a vegetarian here, so what do I know? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  17. And just what wine DO you recommend to go with Baked Pony?! Pony under Glass? Is Pony red meat? Then here are a few choices for you. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  18. Have a wine tasting tour! I bet it would be a GREAT hit! Invitation for a boogie, with a taste of Napa's finest. Now -that- would hold alot of skydiver's interest.
  19. Seriously, I just spit wine all over my monitor when I read that! (guess I'm a bit light-headed too...it's my 4th tall glass). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  20. 1) Landing out on almost every jump -does- mess with your mind and energy level. 2) When you have to 'rush' your set-up for an exit to not be over Jimmie Kerr Blvd, then it -is- an issue of safety...and performance. 3) The round that my team had to land -way- south of the DZ they landed around high powered electric lines. IMO that is an issue of safety. Only their skill let them land safely, but what about the energy (and time) making it back to prep for the next round? Being a cameraflyer, of course -I- made it back to the alternate landing area 9 out of 10 rounds, but I wasn't wearing the most lead. One of my team members had -alot- of lead on and she had to -hike- back on one of the rounds. Nobody picked her up. Is that the way a National competition is supposed to be run? So, tracking back through line of flight -might- get a team back on the grass, but IMHO it compromises the safety of all involved. None of the FS competitors are in-fighting. It is the question of how the meet was run without consideration for the safety and well-being of the competitors that is the issue. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  21. Cool! Think I know what my next home project is going to be....(I HATE weeds). From the literature, it's 6 inches of depth for a 10 foot fall. Perhaps us Calfornia kids are just heavier. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  22. Was watching PBS last night and they had an interesting guest presenting her new business. Rubber Sidewalks! Here is an article which describes what is being done in one city, with over 30 others in the process as well, now. http://www.epa.gov/epaoswer/osw/conserve/2006news/09-side.htm This is not only saving trees, but giving an alternative for landscaping through 'wood chips' made out of the rubber as well. Low maintenance, higher water use by the plants instead of being absorbed by the regular wood chips, and no bugs! The 'chips' are heavier in weight, too, so they don't blow away. Very interesting. Anyone had a chance to personally check out any of these products? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
