I can't see the dog (fence and shrubbery between the houses), so mine would not be a first hand account of neglect. My next door neighbor would have to be the eye witness. I've encouraged her to file a report but she hesitates and tends to the dog through the fence instead. The dog is hungry, but not in ill health. Another fact about animal abuse (here in CA, at least) is that it has to be going on for long periods of time, with numerous reports filed over that time against the owner, for it to count towards removal of the animal. Then, they have to prove that cruelty is happening (animal near demise) before they can physically step in. Horrible, I know. I have a close friend who's been on several horse rescue missions over the years and it turns the stomach to see the state a horse has to be in before it can be saved. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Okay, this is a true dilemma. The neighbor behind my next door neighbor's house has a doberman pincher. They seem to ignore the poor beast most of the time and my neighbor has taken pity on him several times and kept him from starvation. She feeds him through the fence. Her backyard neighbor has thanked her for helping them (genuinely) and seems to be a nice guy (so she doesn't want to turn him in). However, this dog never ceases to bark! He's incessantly barking right now (loud, deep bark). How do we get him to stop! Is this a kind of breed that keeps on yapping, or does this signal something more wrong? By contrast my dog -never- barks. She's an energetic Australian Shepherd/Siberian Huskey mix. All the neighbors love her and knows that if she -was- to bark that something must be -really- wrong in the neighborhood. Not wanting to be a nosey neighbor, but this constant barking has got to stop! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Like all consumer protection information (i.e. 'do not put in eyes' ) you wonder what some idiot had to do to get -that- one (the one you posted here) put on the side of a moving truck! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

No, the Cameye2 isn't 'needed' because the hc26 does not have a LANC port to plug it in to. http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Sony-DCR-HC26-Camcorder-Review.htm ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Thanks for sharing. Many years ago I was introduced to bluegrass by a guy I was dating (in college). He had taught himself banjo and Doc Watson was one of his heros. He played pretty mean banjo himself and I got into ripping a bit of guitar. Pretty good memories. Brought back some smiles.

Glad to hear you're doing well, Bill! I wish all my patients would be so proactive in their health care. It was very interesting that KFI did a little bit on angioplasty and stents just this week. Here's the article they were quoting from: http://www.ptca.org/newscenter.html?http://www.ptca.org/news/2006/0904.html Very interesting read! Looks like you're research has paid off. At this particular time it's best to stay away from the drug-eluting polymer stent and go with the bare metal instead. Keep us up to date on how you're doing, k?

Or Craig O'Brien. I've seen and held his 16mm camera helmet. Amazing! I'd never be able to wear that thing on the ground, much less the air! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Might want to contact someone like Mike McGowan. He's a dz.com member who jumps in here once in awhile. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Not denying the 'self-righteous-bitch' comment, but take a look at her bio. She is a doctor (PhD) and has a license as a Marriage and Family Counselor. Bio: http://www.drlaura.com/about/ ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yes, you have it correct. None of the Canon cameras had this feature until the 400D. It's a great (and true) selling point. My 300D has served me well, and I -did- get the service plan for exactly this reason (and if I damaged it somehow in freefall it would be replaced for no charge). I've use the service plan for cleaning already, so feel the extra money was justified. Plus the peace of mind if it fell off my helmet (or got run over by a car ) it would be covered without any hassle. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Sorry about Bounce. Sounds like he was a memorable fixture around the DZ. Speaking of fiesty kitties, I ran across this video today and your post reminded me of it. "Mean bastard"? Why not go for the lastest and greatest Canon? I especially like the 'shake and clean' on its menu.

You are correct when you say that a beginner cameraflyer will most likely not be able to charge for anything. It is a learning curve that can, if paid attention to, improve with each dive. For my first year of flying camera (weekends only) I paid for my slot and got 'tips' with dubbing if the group wanted to take their video home. If they only debriefed it and left....well, that was okay too. That year I was noticed by one of our load organizers who also had a 4-way team. He gave me a shot to practice that discipline and paid for my slot. I flew for free. The team bought me lunch as 'payment'. Oh, the 'good 'ol days'... The next year I had enough camera jumps to join with a newbie team and continue my trek....student videos followed (got my AFFI rating as well which is required to fly camera with students where I jump). Guess what I'm trying to say is....look at your jump numbers (and camera experience) and those who posted above you. 500 jumps vs 5,000 jumps. For those beautiful cameraflyers who have perfected their craft, they do indeed deserve to be paid. And paid well. They put in the time (and money) to reach this level. Like going to a 5 star restaurant. You pay for that gourmet meal, don't you?
