All right guys, it seems we had a good discussion. Thank you for all your inputs. Nicknitro, What's up cabron???? Cheers, Gus Marinho
  2. Hi Peek, Just to add to your post. We're the official rigging services for the WFFC and Norman Kent, the official cameraman. I did some work on both of his canopies and he has 2 stilettos with dacron lines! He carries 24 Lbs of video equipment on his head. He definitely cannot play with hard openings! Just more info! Cheers, Gus Marinho

    Riggers!

Hi there, Can anybody tell me what A,I,R means?? Cheers, Gus Marinho
  4. I was about to contact you my friend. There is a place for you. Let me talk with Danny today and ask if we can use it!! You'll be my neighbor! We bought a toy hauler as per your recommendation!!! Can't wait to see you guys! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  5. It's not about the repack! Inspection is the most important element of Air, Inspect, Repack that you see on data cards!!! A monkey can pack a reserve, but when comes to inspection, responsability, knowledge and honesty will determine which kind of parachute rigger you are using!
  6. What's up Nick?!? I think I got the good looking thing too, so thanks God I'm fine! So you're going to Rantoul!!! Want to do some work?? I hope so... We were invited to be the rigging services at SkyFest and everybody there will have a chance to look our mobile facility for the first time! After Skyfest, I'm driving straight to WFFC. I'll problably have one day of just sitting and relax!
  7. Ooopsss! Shame on me!!!!! I hope you forgive me! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  8. What's up Nick?!? I think I got the good looking thing too, so thanks God I'm fine! So you're going to Rantoul!!! Want to do some work?? I hope so... 9. My personal opinion! I think people should evaluate riggers by the following: Facilities capabilities; Equipment capabilities; Knowledge and experience; Known by the skydiving community; And finally and the most important of all, professionalism and honesty! I hope this helps, Gus Marinho
  10. LOL! You're right, he asked for a repack! He got some points there! This person has 3 more people on his family that are skydivers! What about if one of them, without knowing that, grabs the rig and go skydive??? Just speculating here!!!! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  11. QuoteDoesn't the soap leave a residue?Quote I don't think so Bonnie. I never had any problem with that. It's better than hurting my hand! Actually, I don't see silicone bumpers very often anymore, do you?! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  12. Hi, I used to do that a lot of times! Sun Path sells a kit, you don't need to figure out anything, just follow the instructions! I hope this helps! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  13. Here is what we do in our shop! Grap a cup with water and soap, mix it up and use the pull up cord like masterrigger1 mentioned. You just need to lubricate the slider bumpers with some thing. Simple like that!!! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  14. What's up Nick??? Train him?? You're kidding right?!!! Well, he did not repack it, just reconnect the links and brake lines! That's right, if you already signed the waiver and checked in on any DZ, they will not check it until next repack! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  15. Hi there, Short story! It happened 2 months ago... A customer brought his rig for a reserve repack. Ok, done! After 2 months he showed up again and gave his same rig for a reserve repack! Ok, nothing wrong yet!! I asked why he'd like me to repack it again only after 2 months and he said he washed the rig!!!! The rig was closed, like I did, but with no seal! He said he dissasembled it, washed the rig, reassembled it and closed the reserve container. He's not a parachute rigger and the assembly and closing sequence was out of this world!!! My 2 cents: He could jump with his rig, with my signature on it! Your thoughts please!!! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  16. Ganja, We are here for you! Please, remember that a lot of people are already leaving their rigs here for services/repacks... if any of you need our services, please contact us to schedule it ASAP! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  17. My 2 cents, Educate him/her telling all the liabilities involved on this case and the law! Remind him that if something goes wrong, his family will come to your ass to get some money, your reputation and your license! And finally, if he does that again, you'll contact the FAA and federal authorities. Forging your name is a federal crime and it's very easy to proof that. My personal opinion is that sometimes people don't think what they're doing. Always give a chance because you also deserve one. Second time, you live the consequences... Cheers, Gus Marinho
  18. As far as I know, RW does not recognizes that mod. What about ask Bill Booth to see what he thinks!!!! My only concern is with the scenario of going straight to reserve deployment with the main still on the container!! When the main is opened, the tabs are no longer closed making the reserve risers coming without any obstacle. At this point, it doesn't matter velcro or tuck tabs! Think about a base jump! Can you imagine one riser get caught under one tuck tab for less than a second!! Off-heading opening!!!! And if there is a wall behind you, I think the wall will try to eat ya! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  19. never had any flap open what ever move i made, but made only 200 jumps on it.Quote Just a thought: Was your rig drop tested and all the data collected to show and prove that no problem was found on the following categories: -If you're freefall, go straight to the reserve, the tabs don't present any problem for the reserve deployment! -Can you still use a RSL with the tabs in place! -Drop test with RSL and once again, go straight to the reserve! -Relative Workshop approves and endorses the tabs! I have a lot of customers that asked me to make this mods and I always say that I'm not an engineer, just a master rigger, and if I have to make a modification like that, I always has to consult the manufacturer and get their approval! I hope this helps! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  20. Hey Jerry, I just got a pm from grasshopper saying that somebody already has a mobile rigging services! Damn, I don't get that right!!!! So I suggest "the best equipped mobile rigging services in US"?!?! Well, who you judge that????? That's the problem!!! Anyway, competition is tough today. With so many mobile rigging services on the road, maybe I should change my plans! Jerry, I'm pretty sure you know what we are going to do with our mobile thing when we get those demos on the market!!!!! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  21. OOPPSSSS!!! Sorry, I wasn't born at that time! Well, never mind in been the first one!! What about "the only mobile rigging services in US"?! Is it sounds better????? I come up with more slogans if you come up with more stuff! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  22. Sure, why not??? You do the work and I watch!! This time you'll see our new set up. It's a mobile rigging services, the first in US!!! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  23. Thank you for your kind words guys! We expanded our gear shop facilities last week and somehow we had some telephone line issues! Nick, Going to WFFC? Jeff, I know Jeff Wragg! Perra, I love you baby!!! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  24. Let me tell you our procedure in our company! 1-We disconnect the main and clean the cables. 2-Perform the inspection and repack. 3-Inspect the main risers, quick check on the main lines, slider, PC attachment point on the canopy, main deployment bag, main bridle and the pilot chute. 4-If something is found, we contact the customer to get the approval. 5-Finally, connect the main risers and perform the final check to make sure is connected correctly. We tell to all of customers to bring their rigs with the main canopy unpacked. That's part of our reserve repack services. If you want us to pack the main, you pay extra $6.00 "in cash" that goes to whoever packs it! My point: We are a "company" that provide rigging services and we also have our standards performing those services. It really doesn't matter if you want us to pack the main or not, but if you want, you just need to pay for it! Just remember, a perfect packed main can still malfunction!! Cheers, Gus Marinho
  25. Thanks Rob! One thing that I forgot to mention was that I'd really like to see the number of jumps made in a year on those countries that have over 120 days reserve repacks cycle and the number of jumps made in US. Tom, I got your PM! Sorry, I haven't get back to you yet! We are doing some work in our gear store and trying to get this done by Friday!(I'm in a different computer) Cheers, Gus Marinho
