You may have to go head down with that fat boy

I know I started this several months ago. I was suppose to be living the life of leisure laid off with nothing better to do than go to eloy. But NOOOOO, stupid company decided 2 weeks ago that they didn't want to lay me off, they wanted to move me to CO. Bastards screwed up my whole free woman summer plan. You know time by the pool, getting a tan, going to Eloy, maybe taking another trip at the end of the summer. Evil corporate scum. *pout*

It's ok....we'll give you a pilot chute.

Well as you all know I'm moving to Colorado next week, so it's still wait and see. I've already gotten Hooknswoop a plane ticket to denver for that weekend, so we might make it. I need to look on a map if the trip is fesible. Heck I'll probably still be unpacking. *ack*

Hey try this, it works better for me with my crossfire. Rather than holding in brakes I let it fly and press out on the rear risers rather than pulling them down. I'm usually one of the very few who makes it back from even the worst of spots and actually, usually have altitude to spare. For myself I want soft openings, a sabre slam killed my back last year and I don't want that to happen again. Also I want a canopy with tons of flare with good slow flight characteristics. Found both with the crossfire 1, I have also jumped a crossfire 2 which performs everything the 1 did but better, Hmmm....wonder if I can talk Simon into a trade

Ummmm....to late....you already gave a certain "Let's do some crazy shit" test jumper ideas.
-
Hey I'm sure we could get hooknswoop to make pilot chutes to test the tape on the bias theory to tie to the kitties. *evilgrin*
-
blue skies Chris......I will always miss you, you were one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Kelli
-
Plus if you don't like the openings or the flare on your current safire [shameless plug for hooknswoop] you can always have the safire performance option done. [/shameless plug for hooknswoop] ok Lisa is going to slap my hand now

That you are missing your daily sex(stalking) chat with tequillagirl.

yep he jumped that canopy on sunday, and fell in love....I actually think he was drooling. I've never seen him do more than 1 jump on a canopy other than his VX, and he actually said that was so much fun it worth doing again....

Hey Ann, I'll steal Derek's safire 189 so you can take one of your kids on a jump..... Just don't tell Derek,

Ummm....she is?? YIKES!! hope she doesn't mind the "I'm moving in a week" mess

just found this on rec.skydiving, list of banned items from Feb 2002. http://www.dfwairport.com/misc/pdf/banned_items.pdf Parachutes - without cartridge: Permitted Items (once properly inspected to ensure they do not conceal a prohibited item)

hehe...sis...I thought it was until I checked the profile.

Another thing is don't fight the canopy while it is opening. I watched a video on Sunday of an Instructor that normally jumped a stiletto jumping a velocity (I think, might have been an FX). Anyway you see the canopy searching for a heading with center cells still closed, well as he was trying to harness steer it, it decided to go back the other way, well in the video you watch him fight it, and decide to chop. As soon as he stops fighting it and goes for his handles it comes out of line twists. Then he chopped (he never noticed it came out of line twists). Anyway after you throw out and the canopy is searching for a heading, relax and try to go with the flow of it. So during throw out keep your shoulders and hips even and relax, because tension can cause you to dip a shoulder or leg. Then while it is opening just relax and go with the flow of the opening, paying attention to your links that they are even. Also check out this thead

Hey you forgot the great my canopy is better than your canopy debate. Otherwise known as the "My canopy can out swoop your canopy" debate

I can think of 3 chick riggers off the top of my head, and by the time we figure a way to kill off all the men I'll have my own riggers ticket. See we don't need no stinking farting in the plane men {Pookie Bear, I really don't mean it.....I really think it's sexy when you are sweating over my rig as you pack it}
-
Yeah lets get rid of all males....who needs them anyway, we have Bob (battery operated boyfriend)....and with science we can make babies Although men do have their uses when it comes to opening jars and killing bugs, but lets see, raid for the bugs, and well hell where is that hammer to take care of the jar.

Dave just tie a bungee cord to your truck and threaten to use it to launch him across the tennis court on creepers. *evilgrin*

So what is that magic number? I jump a crossfire 104 at 1.3 and I have a friend jumping a stiletto 97 at 1.4-1.5, neither of us need to do high performance/high speed landings to get lift. Both of us do strait in approaches and get plenty of lift from the canopies and even on no wind days at most take a few steps. It doesn't matter what kind of canopy you fly you should be able to land it strait in with out performing high speed manuvers. Here are some better questions to ask. A) what is your WL going to be. B) Why were/are you uncurrent, is it cause you didn't have your own gear, meaning that will change now that you do and jumps are cheaper.

no problem, this mirage/RW household will forgive your sunpath household. Now just don't let it happen again Kelli
