eeeekkk....running screaming....don't let Derek see this. My only advice is be very careful with the reserve pin, for some reason they bend easier than other rigs, I know one rigger who put a temp pin in next to the pin until the pop top was snugged down, then pulled the temp pin and give it one more pop to tight everything up. That repack I never had to have my poptop resnugged down. As for the pin, mine has had to be restraitened at least once, of course I haven't jumped that rig in over a year cause Derek won't repack it....well he will, but he whines alot about it. Hey now just ask my mustang about ice... Supposedly some of the resorts like A-basin can get pretty icy, so we shall see. Now all I need to get is get this new possition so I can get my WRX and I'll be all set for this winter stuff. Fly it like you stole it!

We already talked about the bindings, and I'm going with the other kind, due to the better selection of boots. With the click in your are really limited. Also I've heard enough bad stories of on icy slopes where there wasn't enough leverage to get the boot to click in, I can handle sitting down for a sec to get them on, and getting them off is not an issue. Actually Columbia is what is recommended most around here for jackets. Pants though they say go with convert (which is columbia), sessions, or North Face). Actually my jacket isn't bulky at all, and quite warm, the key is in layering right since you never know what the temp will be from the top of the mountain to the bottom. Most the people I work with say burton gear is crap, thier bindings break really easy, go with K2 or solmon. *shrug* I think it's like skydiving gear, it all works, it just what works best for you. Let's see I have the columbia jacket, convert pants, looking at a K2 board (they have one made for small chicks) and still doing the boots debate though. Although it's nice being tiny I can shop in the kids section for cheaper gear Fly it like you stole it!

I'm actually right there with you shopping for snowboarding gear. I mean I have some of the best skiing in the country in my back yard I might as well try it out. Fly it like you stole it!

check out www.rei-outlet.com they usually have great discounts, but sometimes the selection isn't so great. Fly it like you stole it!

Derek and I are planning on camping, but then again we do have the backcountry camping gear so we will be plenty warm. Now on the other hand we are still debating if Fox is going to doggie jail or coming with. Fly it like you stole it!

Yep I'm in the same boat, I'm heading in to the office in about 15 min. On the other hand this pay period I'll have about 38hrs of OT. Fly it like you stole it!

I used to jump a Crossfire 116 @1.1 and currently jump a Crossfire 104 @ 1.2 WL and I've jumped a Crossfire2 108 @ ~1.2. Not counting the 116 which would collapse with front riser imput, I've have no problems in turbulance, high winds, with openings, or anything at all. The front riser presure isn't very high and I'm not a strong girl. The canopy flies very well and is extremely dependable/reliable even in turbulance, it actually breaths less than my other canopy which I load higher. Now I do have problems with my stiletto 97 @1.3 with end cell closure on opening, although this could be because the canopy is out of trim, I'll be relining it with vectran as soon as I get the money together for it, but since I rarely jump it, for me there is no rush. You know I've been wanting to start an all female team for awhile. Basically, so I don't to have to contort to do a side body anymore. My biggest problem is the lack of girls in the area. I can only think of a handful and none of them would do it because they are either on a team with their boyfriends or actively looking for boyfriends which means team training would interfere. How tight do you like your lag straps!!!
skycat replied to koopa's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I leave mine loose enough that when I'm tracking I can shrug my shoulders to my ears. Basically on the ground put your rig on and tighten everything up to where you like it, if you can't touch your shoulders to your ears your leg straps are to tight, which will prevent you from getting the flattest track possible. On the other hand you really don't want them any looser than that. Another thing is make sure they are even when you tighten them, off even a little could cause off heading openings or even line twists. Fly it like you stole it! -
that was going to be fixed last weekend, but you wussed and didn't come out to the DZ Fly it like you stole it!

If you jump in a desert area like I do the sand that gets in the material can wear the fabric and webbing worse than washing once a year or so. Derek has washed 4 rigs in the past 3 months (one of which was only a year old) had so much sand and dirt in it you couldn't see the bottom of the tub in 4 inches of water. Fly it like you stole it!

oh oh oh....it's could be like a DZ.com where's waldo. Find the dz.commer in the bent prop Fly it like you stole it!

I lost my dad the day after he saw my video of me jumping. (2 years ago July 1) Up until then he never told me to stop doing it, but he wasn't comfortable with me doing it. After seeing the video, that all changed and he was telling everyone he saw the next day at the family reunion about me jumping. That night he passed away on the dance floor, atleast he went doing something that he loved. Ok, now I'm crying. Fly it like you stole it!

Ok note to self make sure the bullseye is painted on BikerBabes rig. Fly it like you stole it!

The reason I said have a rigger look at it was because he may not know what to look for. Hopefully he will be standing right there when the rigger looks at it though, personally I would be. Fly it like you stole it!

Whew....I thought I was the only one that got a responce like that from Roger Nelson. I email the BOD a few weeks ago and was basically told by Roger Nelson to quit bothering them that they had better things to do and that I didn't know what I was talking about. Of course when I responded to his email I got a responce back from their server that my email was rejected. I used my work account which shouldn't be on any spam lists. *shrug* oh well, he isn't running anyway so it doesn't matter. Fly it like you stole it!

Ohhhhhhh....I totally forgot the Gingerbread lattes will be back.....yummy can't wait!!! Oh and I buy egg nog by the quart too.....to bad I tend to drink it all in like a night Fly it like you stole it!

Exactly...we have been noticing quite a few brand new monkey fists at the DZ that are made incorrectly. White tapes to long, and the bridle had stretched which cause the kill line to be way out of calibration. Have a rigger look at it. Fly it like you stole it!

Why not just pick black rigs and let each instructor pick his options in his/her favorite color From Mirages' website To make the staff rigs uniform, Mirage mandates similar colors. The only color variations may be the following: embroidery, piping, cutaway handle, soft reserve ripcord, centerline collapsible pilot, or hacky handle. Fly it like you stole it!

I'm so glad Fox won't run away. She is so scared of being left behind, if she gets out of a fence or something she just goes and sits by the car waiting for a car ride. Actually even with the door wide open she won't go out if everyone else is in the house, she will just sit there and bark at cars and people going by. The cat on the other hand, has tried to jump off my 3rd story balcony to get away, luckly I caught him, although one time it was by the tail He isn't allowed on the balcony anymore.
