I'm going to try to make a long post short, so here it goes!! I'm a school teacher. If you saw the ill mannered children that we get, well, you would never believe it!! But when the parents are required to come to the school about the problem that the child performed, then you understand why this child acts like he/she does!!! Sometimes we wonder how the child turns out as well as they do!!! Sometimes with some of the parents, you don't even want to report the kid. When you do report the kid, the parents (not all of them) are so obnoxious you don't ever want to have another meeting with the parent ever again. Their child can NEVER do anything wrong!!! PERIOD, END OF DISCUSSION!! Then you have some parents that support the teachers etc, and you realize why their child is such a well behaved kid.

Does one need to be walking across the street and be run over by a car before he/she knows that they don't want this to happen because it hurts??? P.S. I agree with some form of w/l guidelines, but I don't agree that I have to hear and see somebody hit the ground!!!

I have both types, however I prefer the analog. My brain can process this much quicker!!! Not to mention the little red area!!

Skybytch, if you don't know if the emissions testing/laws have helped, visit Caracus Venezuela or Sao paulo Brazil. They still (as of a few years ago) use leaded gas, and no pollution controls. I stinks like it used to here in the states. As much as I hate all of the pollution stuff on new cars (and we don't have to get ours tested here anymore), they are much better than they used to be. Plus, they get better gas milage. But i still like the smell of Jet A in the mornin!!!

Sears.com digital cameras?? Suggestions?
oldnewbie replied to rhino's topic in Photography and Video
Rhino, many people like the Sony F717. I have seen the pics from these, and they are great. On the sears website, it lists a refurbished one for $799, which seems to be a high price. If you go to the website *www.steves-digicams.com* they have several companies that list brand new ones for less than that. This Sony camera is very nice, however some people think that it is large as compared to some other cameras. This camera also has a feature called *night shot* . It lets you take pictures in low/no light situations. I've never seen any shots, so i can't say how good the night shots are. This camera would probably be pretty good for taking pictures after the jumping is done for the day, and the beer light comes on. This is probably the camera that I will buy. However, sears does not show any Nikons. Many people like the Nikon 5700. Its more expensive than the sony, but its rated very high. This might be a camera that you would want to consider. That website steves-digicams has some excellant write-ups on all of the cameras. that . They also list about 60 different stores and their prices just for comparison. Another site that compares the different cameras against each other is *www.dpreview.com*. These sites might help you decide. I can't remember the website, but there was a camera forum. On this forum, people were discussing how they would take an ad into sears, and sears has a price matching policy. Sometimes the prices were $300 less on that sony F717. You might want to search for that camera forum. Also, be careful, some of the *cheap* stores don't sell all of the equipment/parts that come with the camera setup. They charge extra for these parts. Hope this helps. Good luck searching, its soooooo confusing!!!!!! I see you jump at tecumseh. I was out there two weekends ago during that boogie. That was the first time i had been there, and i was totally impressed with the place. I'll probably make that my home dropzone. Take care!! -
Pressure cooker, steam pipes, something like that!! dang, that is hot!

I've had this type of dream often!!!(well, not that often) Usually i'm having a mal and i'm speeding to the ground, pulling everything my hands can grab, hoping for some kinda canopy to come out!! Usually no canopy comes out, i hit the ground full speed, then i get up, look at all of the onlookers and say something like *I really need to work on my landings more often* or*Damn, that hurts* as i walk off to manifest on another load, or *I bet you people wished you could land like that*. Then i wake up in a cold sweat, and analyse the situation!!! Sometimes dreams are really stupid!!!

Believe it or not, nobody mentioned a hook knife to me either!!!!! However, I did read about it here at dropzone.com and then figured out what it was!!!

Hooknswoop, I'm thinking about buying a used rig with mini-risers on it. Could you give a rough guess as to how much having them replaced would be?? Thanks for giving us your list, i know it has helped me, and i'm sure many others!! thanx

Yeah, i can remember those days!!! My first car was a 69 Z-28, 3 years old at the time. Yeah, I'm old!! I bought that for my 16th birthday. Living in the Detroit area there were lots of muscle cars around, and they were real cheap. I bought the Z for $500, in great shape and no rust. Gosh, if i had that now, it would be worth more than $20,000. But i had fun destroying it! My second car was a 70 Chevelle SS 454 450 horse. Had fun destroying this one also. Gosh, this is worth more than $50,000 now if it were in the same shape. 3rd car was a 67 Corvette 427 425 horse. I bought this one when i was 18, i was working on the assembly line 14 hours a day. 4th car a 70 Corvette LT-1, then 4 more corvettes. Its funny, in the mid to late 70's, nobody wanted these gas guzzlers, not to mention that the original owners beat them half to death. OOOOOO, if i only had these cars now!

Why do I think that you are correct!!!

Why is it that as a school teacher, I will dread having this child in my class???? Do you think the parents are proud and happy what this child has been taught??

I think this is great!!! -
I'm not sure what a sprint is, or what kinda brakes that it would have, assuming that i knew what it was!!! However, if it has antilock brakes, depending on the car (general motors, ford, chrysler, honda etc., etc., you need to *excercise* the valves in the anti-lock brake unit.. This may require a factory scan-tool to do. I have seen people try bleeding their brakes (antilock cars) for hours and hours and the can NEVER get them bled. I think hookit mentioned that the mastercylinder needs to be benchbled. It probaby does. However, are you SURE that the rebuilt master cylinder is actually GOOD???? I have had many master cylinder that were bad right from the *cheap* auto parts store that i bought them from. Anyways, if its antilock brakes, you probably need to excercise the valves in the antilock brake unit. Isn't a sprint a general motors car??

WOW!!! WE ARE ON ANOTHER RED WINGS THREAD!!!

If you have prescription coverage, instead of claratin, clarinex is the same thing as claratin only its prescription only.

Your congestion might get better by friday, but mine has been with me for 2 months now (since i didn't take my allergy meds for 3 weeks). I've been told that I got an ear/sinus infection from the allergies getting so bad. I'm now taking one of 3 different allergy meds( allegra and two other) which i am rotating them 2 weeks for each. I'm also taking a nasal spray, flonase . I'm also on a decongestant, duratuss. I was on an antibiotic for the sinus/ear infection from the allergies. This post is getting longer and longer all the time!! I'm finally starting to get better, well, a little bit better now. I went skydiving last weekend a few jumps only. My doctor said it woudn't do damage to me. Well, it didn't really hurt, although i of course couldn't clear my ears (which have been plugged for over a month). But i did get to jump, finally!!

I'm also wondering why the altimaster II is more expensive. Is it better, and if so, how much better??

Heck, I must have low expectations!!! I just want my dates to have a job!! What does it say about me, I have my own washer and dryer, but I've been known to go to the Laundromat to meet women!! Am I super shallow for doing that, or just smart??? But then again, I also rent a rig!!!!
-
Well, i get up and go to work, put in 8 hours, go home, have dinner, watch monday night football, go to bed, do all that 4 more nights in a row, then lay around and get lazy on saturdays and sundays!! Then i do some really fun stuff, no, not cleaning the house. Then i do this 52 weeks each year!! Thats normal (like i've ever been accused of being normal)lol have a good day!!
-
Ok, since you want a straight answer on *normal* i guess i have to confess. I am the definition of normal!!!

For whatever reason, you have kinda takin a liking to this kid!! Since you feel this way about him, if you don't try to help him, someday YOU will probably regret not trying to help I teach school, and its shocking sometimes how some of these kids act. Many times i will take a liking to a kid that is totally off the wall, and when you find out his background, its a wonder that he turned out as good as he did. Sometimes you can help a person like this by showing/explaining how one should act. You might also want to throw in that he IS going to get kicked off of the dropzone if he doesn't straighten up. Some people have never been taught how to act/talk/behave etc., etc., and maybe you will be the first one who can teach him how he should act!! Then again, maybe you won't, but at least you tried!

Do you knock before entering a room with a closed door?
oldnewbie replied to bkdice's topic in The Bonfire
Seeing that your office is a *private* office, its very rude to just walk in without knocking first, getting some response from whomever is inside the office, and then if that person says *come in* then they can walk in. -
This is actually very very funny, and i would have never guess what the ending would have been
