Does anybody know if there has been a problem with this website today??? I've tried to get for example mouths profile, and i didn't get a profile, but a CGI error, which said *connection error:too many connections!!! it had all kinds of info on mouth, and myself actually, including my password!! i've had several other problems, minor, but problems non the less!! This virus i got, according to norton, the hacker somehow can *deny access* to different places, and things like that!!! I hope it was just a server/website problem, but i don't know!! Thanks again

I will agree with this!!!

Thanks for the reply CrazyIvan!! Then registry entry would be what??? I know what the *exe* file is but i'm not sure what the entry is. The *exe* file is listed under *data* in the regedit, is the entry listed under the *name and type*?? Thanks again

Ok, my norton antivirus caught a virus in my computer. Its a backdoor.coreflood virus. I looked it up on the norton website, and it explains how to get rid of it. I'm following those directions. Now the problem!!! If quarantined the virus, however it could not clean the virus according to the antivirus program. This is the second time it has detected this virus. Yesterday was the first day. I deleted it yesterday, but i didn't go into the *regedit* and delete the added line!!! I assume that is why it is back. I have gone into *regedit* and found the added line. The line reads something like this *\windows\system32\xxxxxx.exe*. According to norton, this is the line the must be deleted. I guess the *exe* file keeps the virus going. Hence the next question!!! Do i delete just the *xxxxxx.exe* or the *windows\system32\xxxxxx.exe* and anything else in that window?? Can anybody help with this??? Or any advice other than *take it in*, since that does cost money!!!lol Thanks in advance!!

Vanillaskygirl, its funny you should mention the coco leaves!! My parents were in Peru a few years ago, and they were climbing up that huge mountain side, and the guides gave everybody coco leaves to chew on. Whats funny about that is, my parents are the most conservative people in the world so now we tease them about being *drug users*!!! Well, its funny to my sisters and i anyways!!! Chow!

Yes, I have been experiencing vertigo sometimes. Its been kind of weird, for no reason at all, sometimes when i make quick moves/turns when i'm walking or getting out of a chair, or if i raise my head i experience vertigo. yes, this does suck!! My allergist didn't mention anything about a tear or perforation. I'm going back to the doctors this week, and i will ask about that.!!! One doctor did clear me to jump, but the allergist said without a doubt, do not!!! I think I will listen to the allergist because of what you wrote!! So thank you for explaining your problems in this thread. You might have saved me from really screwing up, since I was going to jump this week, just to stay current. I guess staying current isn't as important as my ears/sinus. This really sucks, since I only have 3 weeks left on a 10 week vacation. I was hoping to lots of experience this summer, since i got my A license last February!! I had actually put away enough money for over 250 jumps. Oh well, i guess i will just put that money into the stock market!! Please keep us/me informed on how you progress, since I am really interested in this, obviously!!lol Good luck for your ear problems also, and get that A license!!

Sorry to hear this Muenkel!!! I'm having the same problems you are (for a long, long time now). I jumped once in june to get current, and here i am again, i will not be current as of next week, since i decided to stop jumping until my ears cleared up. They still are not better, so i went to an allergist last thursday. He said *no* jumping until they clear. I decided to go on Tuesday so i would stay current. (against what the doctor said) I think after hearing about your problems, I will just wait until my ears and sinus get better, even though i will have to go through recurrency training!!!(maybe this woudn't be that bad anyways, safety and all) Thanks for relating your problems, maybe it will help me!

Lucky you!!!! I've been there 8 times now, and usually am there for the whole convention, but wasn't able to make it this year. It would have been nice to see you jump, since this would be the first year that i *knew* (from your posts) the person coming down. I'm glad you had a safe and fun time!!!

For what this is worth, I'm having the same type of problem that you are. I'm on my third run of antibiotics. I've taken all of the allergy pills, and nasal sprays. In late June, I went jumping and was just a little bit clogged up, my ears that is. AFter one jump, they got worse. Well, at least that kept me current. Now 6 weeks later, my ears are still plugged up. NOt alot of pain, but my hearing goes bad when they get plugged, and the pressure builds up also. Now i'm 2 weeks before I have to jump again to keep current, and I don't think that I am going to this time. It did make it worse the last time. I've been on vacation for 6 weeks now, and have 4 more, and i was going to try to jump 20 or so times a week this summer. Well, so much for that. Maybe i will go see a chiropractor!!! But be careful jumping!!!

Gosh, I have seen this scam done before!!!! It was on 20/20, 60 minutes, and I believe prime time also. [ According to these programs, the people that were ripped off really couldn't do anything about it!! This sucks big time!!! good luck!!

Skydiving: How Old Then, How Old Now?

47:46 Looks like i started later than most!!! -
Nightjumper, i read what you posted, and it was actually very funny!!!!

I'm going to agree with Kitof1976 on this one!!! Although i don't doubt that there are some new people who get pissed off at people for trying to help/mentor them (although i find this hard to believe that somebody that is very low time would give up free coaching), keep offering your help. There are many, including myself who loves to receive advice/coaching/encouragement from the experienced jumpers!!

Wings/Sunrise Rigging International
oldnewbie replied to mwolfe's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm just curious if they are at all helpful for somebody buying a used rig (from somebody else). Will they tell you what canopy will fit, what size harness it has (from documentation) etc.. I'm thinking about buying a used Wings, so the guy can get a new one, but i'd like to make sure what will fit. Has anybody dealt with sunrise on something similar?? -
Ok bill, i guess i can understand that. How does a person get a license then?? or can't they?? If they do not have to have instructor ratings, how would a new person know that they are qualified?? What questions could a person ask to find out if they are qualified if they don't have a rating?? This is kind of interesting to me, since i didn't realize that this could happen!!! I guess i'm glad that i went to a USPA dropzone!! Can this person ever jump at a USPA dropzone then??

Thank you so much!!!! You just made me feel like i was a NATURAL just kiddin!!

Although I'm a newbie, for what its worth, i'll tell you what was doing it to me! For some reason, out of the *clear blue sky* I started getting bruised in the arms. Then it started happening on the legs. I would get so bad, i would have to quit jumping for a few days. Then I would start again, no bruises for 5 jumps, then the next 3 would kill me again. I noticed that this happened when i had hard openings. (this also changed the position that i was in when i was opening, which caused more bruising problems). I talked about this with an instructor, he had me gear up, took a look at it and told me to make the rig tighter. The rig was too loose, and when i opened, it would somewhat slip off my shoulders a little big as i settled into the rig. As it slipped off and my body position changed, it would rub/take off a chunk of my arm (and i would slip down too far in the harness and it would also bruise my legs if they were loose enough). Plus of course, I have these totally massive muscles in my arms!!!! lol

Did they give you a *form* that the instructor is supposed to fill out?? Unless the rules have changed since I got my A license (a large 6 months ago), this form has to be sent/faxed to the USPA. When the USPA receives this form, filled out correctly, they send you your A license. You should get this form and have it filled out NOW, not later. Something might happen (i don't know what, but maybe an instructor moves out of town etc., etc.,) and nobody that knows what you did in your lessons will remember. O, by the way, this form has each step listed, and what is required in each step. When you have all of these steps complete (signed by the proper people), guess what, you have a temporary A license.

Have you not heard!!!! School should have nothing to do with the real world!!! You think that people should really learn something that might be of use in a job??? lol (only kidding here) I'm a school teacher (auto shop/real world), and I can assure you that many teachers feel that they are preparing a student for more education. Not WORK!!! Depending on the class, there may be a good reason for this as an assignment!! Psy and sociology come to mind.
