  1. Like somebody else said, talk to muenkel!!! Both he and I have had problems with our ears for months. I would (and did after i screwed my ears up) go to an ear, nose, throat specialist and get their opinion. My problem started out small, but i kept jumping. Bad move. Now its been 5 months since my last jump. My ears are just now starting to get better. Mine appear to be from allergies, so the doc says! Dang, now i have to get current again. Take care of your ears, they are the only ones you will ever get!!
  2. Although i have not participated in any religous or political threads, I have read many of them over the last year!! I haven't changed any of my opinions/beliefs, but I have learned to accept the beliefs of others (even if i know that they are wrong!!! only joking). I've found that even though i am so very much different from most skydivers, I have found them to be one of the most accepting group of people that i have ever met!!!
  3. I can't believe that he is still alive!!!
  4. Prayers and good vibes to Blanch and yourself!!
  5. I have been buying more and more stuff online lately!!!! However, I bought something at the end of August, and I never received it. I finally contacted my credit card company and they said it was too late to stop payment!!!! It was!!! But they are now going after this company for me, free of charge!!! They also said that they usually pay card holders back even if they don't collect from the company!!!
  6. Hi weegegirl!! 10 years ago my car was run over by a semi-truck. Needless to say, my back was totally screwed up. In the first four years after the accident, I could barely walk from all of the pain that I had. I had over 1800 doctor/physical therepy/chiropractor appointments in this four year period of time. I started seeing the chiropractor and I would get some temporary relief after each visit. By relief, i mean I could somewhat walk for a while. I felt that this was worth going to the chiropractor for. I'm glad I did. This was recommended by sports medicine doctors at both uni of mich hos., and st joe. I had always felt i needed physical therepy that was very exercise intense, and I finally found a physical therepist in Plymouth that was into exercise for therepy. After the first visit, which he did some kind of deep massage (actually he put his knuckles into my back about 6 inches, it hurt like hell) and I felt immediate relief. After 4 more months, I not only could walk normal without pain again, but i could exercise also without pain. Heck, i even took up skydiving!!! I no longer have any pain, and that is without medication also. They also taught me excercises that allowed me to take the pain away by myself, without going to a chiropractor. So anytime I get a sore neck or back, i can do these exercises to stop the pain before it gets bad again. So, I would say yes to the chiropractor , and see how that goes, or go to a great physical therepist (that uses lots of exercise). Keep trying, sooner or later you will hit on the correct therepy, and the pain WILL go away!!
  7. Geezzz, are you lucky!!!! My night and day was just like yours, but when i arrived at the school that i teach at, my boss commented *a little late aren't you*!!! I'm sure you enjoyed YOUR freeday!!!
  8. Thanks for the info and advice!! Yeah, its my home computer. I'll try denying access and will see what happens.
  9. Thanks for the quick reply Rev I'm not on a work network, however, my computer is setup with XP network software. Does this mean that my computer is checking my login, or microsoft checking??
  10. Ok computer experts!!! you have never let me down yet, so try this one. My norton Internet security keeps popping up saying "a remote system is attempting to access C:windows/system32/Isass.exe on your computer" It reccomends that i permit is!! What is this *isass.exe* and why has this remote system been trying to access my system for the last hour, about every 5 minutes??? I have been permitting it most of the times.
  11. I'm just curious!!! How good of a *feeling* do you have on this??? Are you just hoping, or knowing??
  12. Without looking at my logbook, I think I completed the first 8 or 10 dives, then I didn't jump for 12 more months. When I went back to this dropzone (lets call it a rather large dropzone), I was told that I would have to redo my last jump which was with an instructor. So I went with the same instructor that i went with a year earlier and redid this jump. I also went through a *short course* of alll the rules/safety info etc. total cost was like $85. Then I completed everything for my A at that time. I hope this helps

    Dying

I have a good friend, whose grandfather died at age 97, and in good health until the end. His wife became very depressed and died two days later. She was in great health and spirits until her husband died. Everybody feels that it is becuase they had been married since they were 17 years old, so were married for 80 years. Being married for that long i guess you would really miss the person. Now these peoples son figured it was something else. this is a true story also!!!lol He figures that she died quickly after his death because she didn't want him enjoying not having to listen to her telling him what to do. That could be true, but i tend to think the being depressed had more to do with it!! Sorry to hear about your grandparents!!!
  14. Hiya Muenkel This is me again, the person with the ear problems!! I had a closed head injury many years ago. My car was rear-ended by a semi truck, going 45 mph when i was stopped. To be honest about it, I had just gone on vacation (10 weeks) so I didn't have to do anything important during this time. I didn't realize it at the time, but my mind wasn't functioning at the time. I was in a daze and didn't realize it. I thought it was the meds that i got for the pain that was doing it. It wasn't, since it was just a little bit stronger than asprin. I still have some memory problems from this (this happened in 1989), but not that many problems now. Basically i was in a fog for years. If you would like more info, just ask, i'll be happy to tell you everything i experienced!! (like the 1800 doctor appointments etc)!!!lol Good luck, i'm sorry to hear that you are injured, again
  15. Hi mujie I have semi-restored two airstreams. Both of these were my parents trailers. My parents also have a thing for them!!! My mom even became the president of the Michigan Airstream club because she loves them so much!!. I am thinking about getting an old Bambi just for something to camp for a few nights at a time! My parents take theirs down to Casa Grande in the winter, in a park about 5 minutes north of Eloy. Yes, I visit them twice a year too see them (and skydive). There are a few things that you need to know if you are going to buy one. One of these problems are the trailers with the rear-baths separate and drop down as they loosen up. Pain to fix, but it doesn't cost much. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, i'll be happy to try to help.
  16. Thats kind of like the old saying when somebody has a great car, and nowhere to live "You can live in your car, but have you ever tried driving your house?????"
  17. Mine is about an hour, but since I can't jump right now, it doesn't really matter, now does it!!!
  18. Wow, that was fast!!!lol Mine is going on, lets see, almost 6 months now!! Well, at least it was in the magazine 4 months ago!!
  19. If your like me, i applied about march 1st for my A license. My name was in the magazine, so i know they got it, but i never received that piece of paper!!! I guess i should call them up and ask!!
  20. Yep, read muenkels post!!! He and I seem to have the same problem. I know it sucks. I have not been able to go for over 60 days now, and I'm not current. I decided to postpone jumping until this clears up, since the last time i went, it seemed to make it worse. Your hearing is worth more than your skydiving career, IMHO anyways!! This really does suck!
  21. If you took the 2 million dollars that it cost, and got the interest on it, you could hire more teachers, and have smaller classrooms etc.. Probably a big waste of money, except in certain trouble areas.
  22. I'm not an expert at selling used canopies, however, if you had a spectre or sabre2 230 that was used and in good condition at a decent price, I would buy it from you right now!! I don't see many/any of these for sale. Could the reason be that they sell so quickly that nobody ever lists them in the used classifieds?? Yes, MOST people do want a smaller canopy!!! But there are many people just off of student status that probably would/should buy this canopy.
  23. Your right, I'm also grounded with ear/sinus problems!!! I have 3 more days before I am no longer current!! What to do, what to do??? Last week before hearing about your ears being torn, i would have just gone to keep current!!! (no, not proficient) Now i won't jump to possibly save my ears!!! I have a doctors appt in one hour, we shall see!!!
  24. I just tried to get a persons profile, and I got an error that kinda bothered me. It included lots of info about the person that i tried looking at their profile, and all kinds of info about me, such as *name , PASSWORD, etc* The error said CGI error Connection Errors: Too many connections then followed with like a hundred lines of info. i don't know if this is just me (i had a virus on my computer today, ) or if it was from here. Thought somebody might like to know.
