  1. From what I hear, even the "good" ones talk!
  2. Hmmm...I just gave me an idea! We discussed a while back at the dz the plausibility of a vibrating altimeter. BREAKOFFFFFFF!!!!
  3. On the way to altitude, full plane (turbine, of course), vibrator under clothes, no one can tell. Most relaxed jump EVER!!

    Oh Canada

http://sweatshopnews.com/chretien_planetarium.htm I almost peed myself. Then I almost cried. Then I ate a twinkie because, hey, I'm Candian too. Oops. I misspelled that. I meant: "I'm CanAdianese too."
  5. There's also a mini cricket 130 up for grabs for $300 that I just found out about...
  6. I'd be loading the dash-m at 1.1:1. The seller had it for 3 of the 5 years and did not put any jumps on it. A.
  7. Ok, here it goes: I'm ordering my first custom rig later this month and have a quandary. I want to get a good, safe reserve to go in it. My first choice, a PD126 would run me about $850...there don't seem to be any used ones kicking around. A friend of mine has a Rave Dash-M 135 that I can get for $350-$400. This is a really big price difference, but I am also ready to spend the money if it's a huge difference in safety. The Raven reserve has had the mods done on it and is about 5 years old. I've read some of the posts on here about Raven Dash-M's and although they don't seem favorable, there have been people who say they don't mind them. Are there pros to the Dash-M? Any advice/stories/recommendations are welcome. Thanks for the help! Aviva
  8. Dude! I'm all about writing religious documents while inebriated. I guess I havn't sinned enough and Isabel is sinking to a measly Category 2. Do we think we'll have Friday off work??
  9. 1. You must submit to me entirely both with your spirit and your wallet. 2. Meetings? They are for my praise only, which you should be doing all the time anyway, so screw the meetings! 3. I would rather focus the religion on the awesome cape I will don, rather than cereal, if you don't mind. Gosh, I am good at this. Note to self: write bible during hurricane Isabel. Let's see, who should I smite...
  10. Um, hers. I'm a bumpy brother.
  11. Exactly! I could say the same thing about your bible...and I will definitely say it about what that ridiculous woman wrote. Don't take anything as absolute truth, you're bound to be proven wrong. Or accept that everything I say is drivel and ignore my last. Whatever floats your boat. Hell, turn my words into gospel! I've often thought of starting my own religion...make everyone live exactly how I tell them to, isn't that what it's all about?
  12. Hidden values...like records played backwards and talking dogs. I found hidden values in my cereal this morning. Love those alphabits! Hey, if you just move the space over, "values in" becomes "value sin"...hidden message or what?
  13. I think chuteless is just kidding, right? Oh lordisa, he must be!!
  14. Actually, I do stretch and the soreness is subsiding, so I'll happily assume I was doing something right!
  15. I did 15 jumps in the past 2 days, about half of which were my we-all-have-to-go-through-that-stage head down practice jumps. I've been working really hard on keeping my legs straight and really wide. I was warned that if I was doing it right I'd probably be taxing muscles I haven't used much before. Only, it's not the side of my legs that hurt, it's the muscles running down the front of my thighs. Maybe it's just doing a bunch of jumps on my not-perfectly-fitting rig, but I've never been sore like this from it before. Never done 9 jumps in a day either. Maybe my body position in head down isn't quite right. Ah well, it's a good pain...
  16. I feel your pain, and don't give up! This is way too magical a sport to pass up on because you're getting snagged by landings. I hurt myself many times on landing too. My knee, my shoulder, a broken toe, numerous bruises. It got to the point where I dreaded jumping only because I was scared of landing. I was told that some women never learn to land, that we are born with worse depth perception...being pissed off kept me trying. I finally did get a coach to video my landings and had friends jump my rig. It turns out that the canopy itself didn't have a very good flare, so I had one chance to flare fully and that was it. Anything gradual would leave no flare at the end, and if I got the altitude just off, or wind conditions changed at all, I was too high or too low. I put almost a hundred jumps on that canopy and NEVER knew how my landings would be. I got a new canopy about 50 jumps ago and no matter the wind conditions, no matter if I'm on the dropzone or 2 miles out, I have consistently amazing landings. The worst part of a skydive has become one of my favorites and I really look forward to canopy time and landings. Keep trying, make sure your gear isn't the problem. It's worth it.
  17. I've already used these.
  18. Truth is no good, I ditch my whuffo friends all too often. They made sure to clear Friday night. Sick could be hard...They wouldn't come, have other plans for the rest of the weekend like the whuffos they are.
  19. Just found out friends are driving to Richmond tomorrow for the weekend. I was supposed to hang out with two friends, a super pre-planned chicks night. For this one I need a REALLY good excuse. Help!
  20. Michaelah Bonifant...sounds like a turn-of-the-century preacher's wife. Sigh.
  21. You can all figure out, I'm sure, what Jirafa means. I've just always loved them and relate to the height, freckles, red hair, long neck and legs. I even have a tattoo of one on my thigh. Plus, they have fourteen inch long tongues. Anyone who can boast that is a friend of mine!!!
  22. I'm in New York for a friend's going away party anyhow, so I might as well stop by... I'll see what I can do!
  23. I completely agree that people make a place. The community dictates how much I enjoy any environment. (Oops! Does that make me a sheep??) If there aren't some really inquisitive freaks around I can get bored. That said, a lot of people seem to say Hawaii. Hmmm... Okay, question for the masses. Except for those living in Colorado, a lot of oyu have described beatiful sounding places to live that are giving me happy daydreams. Why aren't you there? Specific stories/reasons, please.
  24. Is there a dropzone? Do they need a beer wench?
  25. Jst say NO to SNOW!! My new political platform...
