  1. Thanks, had heard about Pete so she is second but the 1st girl!! Like you say nothing wrong in that. Contacted the BPA but they do not keep any records on age of qualifying skydivers, guess all they want records of is whether we have paid our membership fees !!! We got back to UK yesterday the weather is not so good but hopefully will be good tomorrow on Claires 16th birthday. Guess this is gonna cost me a whole lot of beers but believe me if you could have seen that smile on her face after she lannd for the first jump it was worth every single penny.
  2. Claire has just finished her AFF consuls and hop and pop and her written CH1 exam in 7 days! She will be 16 in 3 days time and weather permitting when we get home to the UK on Sunday she will be able to do her qualifying jump on her 16th birthday at my home DZ. No records known of but I believe she would on her 16th birthday become the UKs youngest qualified(A license) skydiver, does anybody know if this would be the case. She did a total of 19 jumps and I am very proud of her and of course love her to pieces.

  7. Wooaah there tiger. Gotta agree with peregrinrose,if you are old enough to be jumping old enough to be buying stuff with credit cards then you should be wise enough to question the price and how its being paid for. The "scammed individual" was lucky enough to have paid via a credit card and very lucky indeed to get a refund. Seriously you have gotta ask yourself was $1300 a bargain,or indeed just too great a bargain, all scams work on pure human greed the buyer thinking i am getting a bargain the scammer offering something for sale which is just too good to be true to get that bite from Mr/Miss Greedy. Hell that gear must have been worth at least $1350!! Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!
  8. One of the jumpers at Nethers was on it a few years ago,yes he got fired and then the woman(busty blond) he was shagging got over £50000 from the newspapers telling her story he was offered a smaller sum ,over £10000, but he didnt take it!!! He was slated by her in the News of the World. if you might remember he was trying to cook sausages over an old tin can with holes in it!. Bloody nice chap and all that! and we regularly ask him BAR B Q advice! Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!
  9. Should have said Fuck You and left. For some people it is their little power game. Ignore the ignorant. Love many trust few and paddle your own canoe. All the best in your skydiving. Steve Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!
  10. Yep sounds just like Stansted a rule of its own in aviation rules. Just a bunch of w^%*&^s most of who can't speak english anyway. Almost a joke when you come back to the country having your passport checked by somebody who probably wasnt even born here!!! Glad this is in bonfire but dont they just get on your case, pay peanuts get monkeys. Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!
  11. Visibility is a very good point this weekend (Sunday) was jumping at Nethers and within seconds from exit my full face (bonehead havoc) not only fogged up but literally froze up i couldnt see the other jumpers(3 way) and couldnt see my alti. The other 2 jumpers were not wearing full face so they could see me,thankfully. I tried to partially open the helmet to clear the visor but cos the havoc is on a ratchet type system this was not easy in freefall and also the extra air it would trap would probably have done my neck no good. My protrack went off at 4500 and 3300 and on the understanding sheer hope the other 2 had tracked off i waved off and pulled, yes they had done a good track so we all landed safely and they told me they had seen my helmet visor freeze over so were aware of my predicament. So full face or open face? for me in these winter/spring days with UK unpredictable weather it will be open face and full face for those lovely sunny days doing bigways. After discussion back in the packing hall it turned out lots of people had had similar problems this weekend just gone and the previous weekend, nicely heated plane and minus whatever outside. 12. My 15 year old daughter(Claire) has 2 hours 20 mins so far and has just started sitflying, she sussed out backflying in the first hour!! She just loves it and will be doing her AFF at the end of June hopefully a week before her 16th birthday. Adam Mattacola (2nd in world meet last sunday) is training her in the tunnel and is doing an awesome job. Swooping, huh? 13. What good is a bust bank, should have let Branson have it!!!!! This government can't run a country let alone run a bank thats why Brown let the bank of england make interest decisions(sort of anyway). Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!
  14. What and you believed the government and the £&%$£ puppets that somehow got voted in. Anyway good news is we now all own the northern rock,oh shit apart from about £45 billion in some trust,oh fuck me DARLING missed that bit!!! Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!
  15. Good for you starting at 16. My daughter (Claire) will be 16 in July and has started her training in the tunnel, one hour so far and yesterday started learning backflying!. Hopefully she will do her AFF prior to her 16th birthday somehere outside UK and do her qualifying jump on her 16th Birthday in the UK weather and everything else permitting. Theoretically she could get her A license then on her 16th birthday. Whatever happens she is loving the tunnel training except getting her hair sorted afterwards!!
  16. No she was a Nethers jumper, very well liked at Nethers always bringing new people into the sport(tandems etc). Tragic accident during freefall whilst jumping at a DZ in Spain. Greatly missed by her skydive friends. R.I.P Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!
  17. Well not quite the passing fad!! My daughter just started her skydiving course(she is 15) with 20 minutes in the tunnel. She loved it and will be doing wind tunnel coaching for the next 10 weeks prior to doing her AFF,its giving her loads of confidence and skills in the air that she definitely would not get on a 7 jump AFF course. After all she is my little baby and i want to see her safe as possible in the air. Steve Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!
  18. Not interested, Im pissed!!! I got it in yellow, but I paid $2.99 ---------------------------------------- LMAO Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!
  19. Like JSAXTON says "suck it up" The rules have been there a longtime before you came into the sport and will be there a long time after. Just think you used to need 200 jumps(and may still have) to wear a FRAP HAT! and yet tandem passengers get to wear them on jump"1",now thats just not fair on all us jumpers who carried on after doing tandems having to do another 199 jumps before we could carry that badge on our head. Ps If you really need to wear a full face before you meet the skydiving requirements I know of one person who got a dispensation on the basis she couldnt breathe in freefall without one,no shit. 20. Saw him land at Hinton too between manifest hut and some gazebo thing,unreal!10/10 to get through the gap let alone stand it up!! Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!
  21. Having seen Luigi land his 39 on several occasions, very impressive ,i was led to believe that in the hook turn he has reached a max speed of 117mph which is freefall speed. My own freefall speed range is from about 103 to 135 so 117 is more than enough to say it is ,at sometime, during the canopy ride reaching freefall speeds. Anyways why dont you just ask Luigi! 22. If more new rigs are being sold cos us$ is low why must gear prices go up in order for manufacturers to survive???!!! If in one statement you say this and then in another you state this doesnt affect us skydivers then what is the whole point of your statement. The only reason gear prices will/would go up is cos of a low us$ and if the components were imported to the us$ and therefore be costing more in $ terms cos of import costs. Anyways it is not unusual for any manufacturer of any product to review prices on an annual basis just like employees want an annual payrise! Swooping, huh? 23. UK is still 6 months but in Spain apparently its now 1 year !!! It would be nice to have some uniformity cos having maybe for you guys and gals depending on how often you jump 3 reserve repacks a year is not only expensive but shortens your reserve life comparitive to a UK jumper and now especially a Spanish jumper. Hope you get your 180 at least.
  24. Hi Closest dz to Bicester is Weston on the Green. Great DZ. Give them a ring you never know during these cold UK winter months they might be doing AFF in the States. Whatever you do have fun.
