WHich aircraft would you want jump out of full time..
bch7773 replied to jasonRose's topic in The Bonfire
any plane full time? I'd say CASA. quieter then a skyvan, a nice tailgate you don't have to struggle to open, and did someone say high speed passes? MB 3528, RB 1182 -
10 jumpers from Kansas will decend on perris from March 17 to 23rd. I hope something is going on then! MB 3528, RB 1182

they also made the email subject line clear that it was an ad for skydivers. I agree it was unsolicited, but its the best possible kind of spam. Its targeted, it provides a easy way to opt-out, and it lets you know its spam. I saw no problem with this ad. MB 3528, RB 1182

well, given the apparent nature of things there, this part isn't too surprising. If you're employed by one of the threatened DZs, you want to kill the new one, but still be able to work there if it is the one left standing! And you can't show any signs of opennes to the new one, or the others might PNG your ass out the door, leaving you no home if the turbine fails. ding ding ding!! we have a winner!!! MB 3528, RB 1182

Officail: I am the biggest whuffo!
bch7773 replied to trab1925's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
very simple answer: first, get a job and save up lots of money. you'll need it for skydiving. call the DZs in your area and ASK them about the age thing. its that simple and easy and they will be able to tell you definite answers. MB 3528, RB 1182 -
it looks like the nearby DZOs are suddenly trying to tell this airport what to do with the new skydive operation. they are scared of competition i guess. this makes me glad that my DZ is far enough away and has a good enough base of jumpers that this new DZ won't affect us much... except when we go down to a boogie there MB 3528, RB 1182

I get that too, but then I just click on messages and its there. I'm guessing the link sent to the email is slightly off. MB 3528, RB 1182

man my boss pissed me off today and embarresed me in a meeting. Since I can't get back at him officially, I'm gonna go kill his children. With a bomb. Its the only method I have. That ok with you darius? I'm done with this thread. too many lies and bs just pisses me off. MB 3528, RB 1182

I had a main packed in its D bag for about 4 months. When I pulled it out of the Dbag, it just sits there like a brick. I even tossed it around and it remains completely folded and in the shape of the Dbag. I suspect at 120 mph it would unfold, but why risk a reserve ride to get out of 5 minutes of repacking the main? We jumped a few loads this weekend. 30 deg F on ground, 14 deg F at altitude. Nothing got cold except for my hands, which then proceded to throb for the next 10 minutes while packing. but I was wearing 4 shirts, 2 pairs of pants, 2 pairs of gloves, and a full face. MB 3528, RB 1182

Does your Dropzone have wind holds?
bch7773 replied to valcore's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
my DZ only has wind holds for students. if we get enough jumpers to fill a load and the pilot is willing, we fly. that being said, kansas typically has very strong winds... we are all used to jumping in high winds and so they don't bother us. my personal limit for winds is 30+ mph.
