  1. A guy at my dz has a lip ring and every time I talk to him I find myself stareing at that ring. If you had a lip ring I might not stare at your boobs. blues jerry
  2. Hi Dude, I jumped at 5 DZ's here in the northwest befor I had my A. In fact my first jump off student status was at a different DZ, just be upfront about your skills and have your log book ready. It helps if your a member of the USPA. I would highly recommend Kapowsin as a safe DZ. blue skies jerry
  3. Believe me Ivan, the guys had more fun watching me pack my new saber, than they did watching me land it. both were pretty funny. I did the phyco pack starting out but quit after about 30 pack jobs, it opens ok and you need a bridle extension, but its not really recommended by PD to pack that way. Any thing other than a pd pro pack, you can consider yourself a test jumper. Here's what I do, when i get ready to roll the tail, with my palm open and my thumb pointed down, I lay the lines on my wrist, freeing my hand to pencil roll the tail and hold it until I lay the canopy down. Than my knee go's on that roll and stays there until I fold the canopy. Once you get the air out you have to keep an arm or leg on it until you get it in the bag, all the while it tries to go seven different directions. good luck! wish I could watch. blue skies jerry
  4. Been flying at 1.35 from jump 40 on. Don't plan to change any time soon. While WL BSR's are all well and good, I don't know how you can make it work without being platform specific. Why reinvent the wheel, when you can just follow manufacturers recommendations. blue skies jerry
  5. I disconnect mine when I do crew, I have enough slack to tuck it into the top of my mud flap. whether this is right or wrong I have no idea. ask your rigger. blue jerry
  6. Just wanted to add, I thought I read somewhere that skydive arizona requires the mod on fun jump rigs? blues jerry
  7. Hey, wait a minute jr landed on an air craft carrier, doesn't that make him a navel aviator? You just wait untill his reelection I bet we see that footage all the time. And I want to know why Ted K. didn't base that bridge like that guy in triple XXX? blues jerry
  8. "Bring them on" "We won't be intimidated" "Hold my beer and watch this" Famous last words. blue skies jerry
  9. Contact Fregricks of Hollywood, I'm sure they have something that will work for you. blue skies jerry
  10. Learning to pack is a good thing to do on weather days, there's no substiute for hands on experience. plus you get to hang at the DZ. blues jerry
  11. Bring Them ON. BSBD jerry edit to add tag line
  12. In a word, radar. blues jerry
  13. I jump at a swoop DZ, most guys go for the vengence. I have no clue what would be right for you. blues jerry
  14. Why not make it an otter instead of a car? blues jerry
  15. I agree with Vectorboy, when I went to mini risers so I could pull my slider down, I didn't have anyplace to stow my excess steering line so I just let it hang. Once in a while the excess line will flip up into the canopy lines on opening and hang up slightly, but it always pulls out easily. I always clear for traffic, stow my slider, pop the brakes and CCC right away while I'm still high. blues jerry
  16. Call Ralph at western parachute sales, he might have a few in stock, at least thats what he tryed to sell me. blues jerry
  17. Don't worry , Dubya's tax cut will kick in any day now. blues jerry
  18. I jump at the largest DZ in Oregon and I think there might be a couple of guys close to 1.5 plus with 500 jumps. edit to add: I don't think there are any low timers on crossed braced, I don't think it would be allowed. blues jerry
  19. Hi, one thing that should be mentioned, if you have to make a braked approach low to avoid an obstical,so be it. However I've been told once near the ground in half breaks if you let up on the toggles the canopy will dive as it goes back into full flight. hope this helps. blue skies jerry
  20. Hi base698, as a new jumper I assembled my whole rig including the control lines under the supervision of a rigger it's not hard at all. Simply get the right material and go to it. Have a rigger check your work. At my DZ on weather days we sit around and make closing loops for sport rigs and tandems. The finger trapping tools we use are all home made. Simply take 2ft small diaminter stainless steel wire and double it, than attach the free ends to a handle. You too can be a finger trapping fool. blue skies jerry
  21. hey don't forget about the guy in good stuff that jumps without wearing his parachute, some how he hangs onto it. blues jerry
