Your mention of the trap club brings back fond memories, I loaded trap for the sportsman club every thursday night for five years. I started when I was 11 and was paid 3.00 a night I quit at 16/8.00 a night. Some times if it was snowing hard we would switch to black pidgins and rock on. It was a great place to hang out when you are a kid and make money too. blue skies jerry

Dude all I'm saying is people are getting tired of schools being turned into war zones. The idea isn't 1-inch toy gun, it is what it represents, bring a gun to school. You should be worried, its crap like this that indicates the future and direction society is starting to go in regards to guns. blues jerry

I'm not disagreeing, but the writings on the wall. There are just too many people out there with firearms that shouldn't have them. blues jerry

Here you go, How many Columnbines is it going to take before you get the picture? Which will come first, X-ray machines and metal detectors at the entrance of schools, or your right to own firearms infringed upon to the point of none. And don't forget Springfield Oregon while your at it. blues jerry

I too had to do the 5WPM thing, and the guy who was my teacher, his call sign was AH8HA which as you may know 8 designate a island region. The reasoning was people would see his call and think island and he would get more qsl's. Could I do 5wpm today? not on your life. blues jerry

Is Ralph Hatley a good guy to buy gear from?
b1jercat replied to jumpinfarmer's topic in The Bonfire
I buy from Ralph because he is local, and I can drive to his DZ. He has in the past pissed me off for not letting demo a stiletto when I had like 70 jumps.I could be mistaken, but if you are in the market for a Hornet he may be the only dealer with them in stock. My advice is know what you want and what it's worth. Good luck. blue skies jerry -
Been there done that, I let my lic go some while ago. It is a kick to talk to people around the world. I was always amazed by the fact you can send code faster than you can talk. I still have a Yeasu FT 101 grathering dust somewhere. blue skies N7JTR

It seems that the Union of Concerned Scientists might have a few integrity problems of their own... Extract: "Committed to an 'open-minded search for truth,' and armed with 'unrivaled scientific expertise,' the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) 'doesn’t say anything [it] can’t back up with solid evidence.' At least, that’s what its fund-raising letters say. The reality is quite different. "UCS embraces an environmental agenda that often stands at odds with the 'rigorous scientific analysis' it claims to employ. A radical green wolf in sheep’s clothing, UCS tries to distinguish itself from the Greenpeaces of the world by convincing the media that its recommendations reflect a consensus among the scientific community. And that’s what makes it so dangerous. Whether it’s energy policy or agricultural issues, UCS’s 'experts' are routinely given a free pass from newspaper reporters and television producers when they claim that mainstream science endorses their radical agenda. "Here’s how it works: UCS conducts an opinion poll of scientists or organizes a petition that scientists sign. Then they manipulate or misconstrue the results in order to pronounce that science has spoken. In 1986 UCS asked 549 of the American Physical Society’s 37,000 members if Ronald Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) was 'a step in the wrong direction for America’s national security policy.' Despite the biased wording of the push-poll question, only 54 percent disapproved of SDI. Even so, UCS declared that the poll proved 'profound and pervasive skepticism toward SDI in the scientific community...'" More... I agree with you John you can't trust those three letter organizations, UCS, NRA they all lie to promote their own agenda. blue skies jerry

Why shouldn't you get good prices, if you pay taxes you are already subsidizing walmart employees with public health care and in many cases food stamps, Its nice of you to pick up the slack for walmart. If you think walmart pays competitive wages I'd like to hire you. Here where I live we are doing everything we can to keep walmart out. blues jerry
