No, I was trying to be funny/and prove a point. I thought the "supersize a value meal" was pretty good. Truth is you don't know what he gets told...Maybe he does not make the best choices based off of it...But how would you know? You don't have the same info he does. Nothing to say just wanted to see that in print again Didn't he work on a Senate campaign in 1971? I was born in 1972. I said IN politics...Working on a Senate campaign is in politics. Right on. If you live long enough you will get the experience to do almost whatever you want.. If you rush it and get yourself killed/hurt...It kinda cramps your style. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

[Sarcasim] Well you don't know what you are talking about..You have never seen ME fly. I don't plan on flying in bad conditions..I already told you I was only going to fly it on GOOD days. How can you know that I can't handle the Bonanza with 100 hours...I'm a real good pilot, and my buddy LEARNED with his Bonanza. Yeah, he was that little kid that saluted his Dad right? Whats he been up to these days? [/sarcasim] Does this sound at all like something we have heard about a million times with a low tiime jumper and his new canopy? Maybe...I don't want to try it..I like walking, and hate getting my rig dirty just "to see". You can flat turn at 10 feet...You might not turn more than 10 degrees before you need to flair, but its better to not complete a flat turn than yank a toggle at 10 feet. When you can, try to crash with your wings level and PLF like your life depends on it...It just might. Nope as proven by the body count. For you and everyone else. Well better than an inconsistent two faced dumbass. I tend to think I can't do a better job than a guy from Yale that has been in politics for more years than I have been alive, and that has an entire set of well educated people advising him. You may think you know more than a guy with all that. But when was the last time you had a briefing from the CIA, NSA, or FBI? Or when was the last time you were in an economic "chat" with Greenspan? Your last security issue had to do with making sure you locked your front door, not the security of a NATION. And your last economic decision involved super sizing your value meal. So I tend to think Bush knows more than you...Unless you care to tell us the last time you were at Langley, or DC? Im more worried about "politicly correct" types stepping on my personal freedoms more than anything from the Patriot act. And last I checked the right to have a weapon is on the Dems chopping block. People hated us WAY before Bush took office...And the Cole, 1st WTC attacks, Beruit, Somolia, Bosnia all happened on Clintons watch...And I bet if a Dem or Reb was in office on 9/11 it would have happened anyway. I am not an expert on economy...but last I checked the economy does not change fast. And through out history we have had lows and highs in a rather cyclic pattern. Also many policies take years to have an effect. It has been said many times that you inherent the ecomony from the prior administration. I have yet to see one policy that has *caused* the problems we are having. And for every "expert" that you find that can blame it on any policy...I can find another "expert" that will say it had nothing to do with it. At least when Bush says something I know he will not change his view tomorrow, and claim all along that it was how he felt. Thanks Chris... I see the comparison of the high performace plane and a highly loaded canopy as the same thing. Its not that I don't want folks flying a Bonanza or Stiletto...I just want them to have enough experience and training to survive it. Chris...If I told you I had just bought a nice V35. I have around 10 hours in type and all the HP and complex sign offs. However, I only have ~100 hours total. And most of that time is in a Cessna 150/152 Now since I am current (in a Cessna) and I have flown it before I tell you that I don't think I need any more training. I'm gonna fly it around to get more used to it...But I'm only gonna fly it on GOOD days, and I promise not to overspeed it. What would you tell me? (This of couse assuming I could get insurance on it with just 100 hours Total Time.) "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Yep. Fair for me. As do I. And I'll take Bush over Kerry. I just don't trust Kerry to keep his word in any matter. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

You said Bush lied and used those as examples...But you defend Kerry when he does the same thing..And on even a grander scale. That IS a double standard. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Chris, Care to share some stories along the lines of the Bonanza V-35, AKA "The Dr. killer"? Not to you Chris: The FAA has seen fit to not allow a new pilot to just jump into a high performance or complex plane without more instruction. There is a reason. Pilots want the coolest neatest thing..So folks that can afford them often get more plane than they know how to handle. Even when they get the sign off. In Good conditions most pilots can handle it. But when something goes wrong...It often leads to disaster. This same thing is happening with canopies and newer skydivers. They want the cool toys so they buy them. They MIGHT be able to handle them in good conditions, but as soon as it hits the fan...They end up broken or dead. The biggest voice on this thread for letting folks do what they want has

Well that was a well thought out post... At least you live in a country that you are free to say such things...In old IRAQ you would be dead now. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I went to war and got all these shinny medals...The war was bad and people (not me) did bad things. (But I didn't stop them). His 1984 campian proposals to cut defense spending then"Changing his mind" and calling the idea of cxling them "stupid and ill-advised". And blaming the idea on "a compain that drove him to the left"...So he votes whatever way the wind blows...And admitted it. Proposed cuts to the CIA...Then we need better intel. Thats a 180 folks, not a modification. He supported the No Child Left Behind act...Now he is the sharpest critic of it. Again, not a small change a 180. He wrote part of the Patriot act...but crys that it is used. Why WRITE it if you didn't want it used? Cause it was popular. He voted for the war...Then again cries we actually did it. Why VOTE FOR IT if you don' want it to happen??? Simple it was popular. Kerry opposed the death penalty for terrorists...Till it became a popular idea...Now he supports it...a 180 degree change. Kerry's opinions change with the popular vote..Not his own ideals. funny you say this to support Kerrry, but use the opposite tone against Bush Here So is it OK to not do something you said you would if it turns out to be bad, or you only get part of it done...Or is it only OK for Kerry to do that? You and Kerry are both good for each other... You call Double standards for everyone but yourselves. Actually I have said several times Kerry IS a war hero. I slam the fact that he claims to have seen alll these bad things, but never STOPPED them from happening. If he was an officer he had a DUTY to stop them. And report them...Why is it the first time we hear of it is at Winter Soldier? I also slam that he changes sides rather often. For the record...Kerry IS a war hero in my eyes. Bush was in the National Guard..There is some doubt as to if he sevred his time like he was supposed to. He can't prove he did, but you can't prove he didn't. I just got out and I don't have much more in the way of proof than he has...And I was ACTIVE, not NG. I bet I don't have as much as he has in the way of proof in 20 years. As for the "statements" for the folks that claim Bush never was there...I have heard folks say I was kicked out...Uh nope, did 3 years and got good conduct medal, and an AAM on the way out. It is amazing what people will say when they are trying to tarnish you. So I don't just listen to "folks". Also the amazing thing about this country is you are INNOCENT till PROVEN guilty..Not like it is in Jolly old England were you have to prove you didn't do it...Here folks have to prove you did the bad thing. Nope...I liked Lieberman. He had honor. In fact for a while there I wanted McCain. Bush sticks to his side. Kerry does not. THAT is my issue with Kerry...His vote goes whatever way he thinks is popular..And then when the tides change he claims he was on that side all along anyway. And if I sew a magnet into my hats I don't lose them on windy days. Tons of fun and handy uses. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

WHAT?!?!?! That is so unfair. But it is a cool place to stick refrigerator magnets "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Yes. Think about it folks can carve them inches off the ground. You may not get a GOOD landing with a normal flat turn at 50 at 2.0+ (as in be ready to PLF) but it can be done. BTW I like they way you approach canopy flight...I have very few doubts you will be OK. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Yeah, and I have medals....Can I be Kerry's running mate? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

you have to do better than that...If you don't listen to anything else I say why listen to that? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Some of them WERE NOT the opposite. Some he tried and got rulled against by a Clinton appointed judge. Some were. I would rather have a guy do the RIGHT thing than just "keep a promise". The Candian Lumber issue is a good example. It was not FAIR so it was stopped. But I guess you would rather have more Americans on welfare...It just strengtens the Democratic party ya know. I can't call Kerry a lair since he is on BOTH SIDES of everthing I can however call him two faced. Medal hungry. Abandoning his troops after beaching his boat to chase a single WOUNDED solider. He wanted to be like JFK so bad he risked not only his own life, but his Mens lives. And how about them purple harts???? Wow 3 in 4 mths...He must have sucked as a solider. And untrustworthy...If he saw those things he talked about in winter solider...As an OFFICER he had a DUTY to report it. And he didn't...So either he lied, or has no honor. You pick which one "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I JUST got out two years ago....I can produce about as much. And some medals...Can I be a hero too? And you just like to keep slamming Americas National Guard and Reserve soliders..Again I ask you..What have you done for America, or your Queen? You are old enough to have served in several conflicts. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Ya got Proof he lied? Or you just like spreading RUMORS? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I HAVE flown that wingload...And wingloads almost TWICE that. A person with 50 jumps should not be under a 1.35 wingload....And I AM an INSTRUCTOR, have a PRO RATING and have more less than perfect landings than you have jumps. Now what ya got to say? OMG...You have a military vet with WAY more time in country than you, me or Kerry telling you what it was like, and you don't want to take that as good enough. Kallend some times you really kill me. You want proof, and you get it. Then you say some BS like "stay home and defend Alabama"...when you say that you slam EVERY NG and Reserve solider in America. I am ashamed of you. You are losing so you stoop to bringing up Prescott bush and use the famous "Nazi defense". Then you slam every citizen solider. What have you done for the US or your Queen? You get used to it...After a while you don't mess with them anymore. One time I had a friend that was female...(just friends..It CAN happen, and she was hot). This guy was hitting on her... He started talking about how he skydives. (I perk up) He started talking about how great it is blah blah balah....Then he says how great his instructor is...Now I knew why I didn't know him. He was a student. But then he says the guys name...And the guy is only a tandem instructor. Come to find out this guy has only done two tandems about 6 mths ago...But he was a "Skydiver". The jig was up when Kat turned to me and said "How many jumps do you have Ron?" And I said "600". His face was kinda neat to watch...Never seen color fade so fast. Another time in a bar a guy is wearing a "Now Fear" skydiving shirt. My buddy asks him if he jumps. The guy said yes and that it was not for weinies, and that we probley could not handle it. He was trying to impress this girl. (My buddy had 3,500 jumps, and his Dad owned the DZ. And I had about 700 at the time). We asked him where he jumped..Got to far away DZ story...Ect. Then we asked him about his license while we pulled out our USPA cards and showed him our Instrutor ratings. He lost the girl. At dinner just a few weeks ago Ladyskydiver, Kramer, myself, and my Wuffo g/f were out to eat. Kramer has a JumpRun.com jacket on...A guy starts saying how he skydives...It seems he has a whole 6 jumps. Each at several different DZ's. Now Kramer has 1500 jumps I think, Cora has 300, and I have 3,000 jumps. None of us said anything to him. His wife was big, fat, bitchy and clearly wore the pants in that family...We let him be the big man he always wanted to be. You get used to it. It happens all the time. already got me. Destroyed 2 yeras of files...So bad my work computer will not even run. I have to send it to my tech guys in Memphis. The virus was replication itself so fast that my virus scan could not delete it fast enough...I t was a race,a nd the virus scan was loosing...My tech guys told me to just unplug the thing and send it to them, and that they had not heard of it moving like that before... It also WROTE to my A and D drives. It was scanned before I opened it. And before people start telling me not to open things from folks I don't know.... I needed a password to a new system at work...So I emailed the person asking for a password...I got an Email back in like 5 min from that person with the subject "Password Approved", and the only text was "OK"....It was a wierd attachment so I ran a virus scan on it...and it came back clean. As soon as I opened it...I knew I was screwed...It started deleting my files right infront of me. I had just updated my system. I wonder if it was that new one....The tech guys said they have never heard of something like that...Of course they were laughing at me as I told them. Oh yeah, the disk in my drive was my backup disk.....I was told not to use it...So two years of work is gone....Unless the tech guys give me an ok to use that disk after they look at it.
