So you would trust the opinion of the leaders of a country that is bankrupt and who's people would run South if they had a chance? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Your welcome. Again its just my opinion...In fact I was not planning on writting anything about it...But it was so easy to use that I felt I needed to. Also I was not a fan of them at first...they had problems, and I think they were released to soon. Those problems have been fixed, and now I think they are as reliable as anything else, and easier to use with some better features. Yes, any device can fail. And the problem with some of these devices is that you will not know they failed till after you needed it. For example are you sure your CYPRES will work? How are you sure, just because it turned on? With Audibles and AAD's you don't know they failed until AFTER they should have worked....Not such a good thing. ALWAYS expect a device to fail. Have more than one way to tell altitude. Train yourself to know what your pull altitude looks like. The lack of information on the Neptune was the very reason I could not recomend it. However, I have changed my mind based on the fact that it has been around for some time now and there have been few problems recently. AggieDave had a problem with the LCD cracking....I have heard of this before. It seems that it is not as tough as an analog...And for that reason I will use it only as an audible. Not that I know of, but places like this are a good reference...Another is your local DZ folk. I tend to trust people on my DZ that are in the "know". Riggers, instructors and trusted sales people over people on the internet, or sponsored people. Understand that some people will push what they are given, or what they will make money off of. Thats why I mentioned being sponsored...My views are not tainted, but you should be aware they could be. As it is I would recomend the Neptune as an Audible...But they don't seem as strong as I think they should be to be a visual yet. I am sure that will be fixed soon. Hope this helps. Some info....Been jumping 11 years 3,330+ jumps. I have owned an OLD dytter (The ones that just had one warrning and you rotated the dial to set it), a Timeout, a PRO Ditter, and now a Neptune. Also it should be noted that I didn't pay for the Neptune it was a sponsorship, and that I both know and like Roger and Cathy personally. For those that know me know that I don't accept sponsorship from companies I don't trust, and I will not take a sponsored piece of equipment if I would not buy it. It's one reason I PAY for Performance Designs products rather than get other free canopies. Now that the disclamer is done: I was not a big fan of the Neptune when it came out. It had several bugs, and many revisions in the first week. I am skeptical of ANY new toy in skydiving. I prefer to wait a year or two and let any hidden problems show up and get fixed before I become a "test dummy". This way of thinking may not make me cool, but I think it makes me safer having known and trusted equipment. Well, my 4way team was sponsored by Neptune. They handed me a Neptune and asked me to jump it. The rest of the team was very happy with the device, so I put it into my helmet to use as an audible. I told them that if I didn't like the product I was not going to jump it. It is VERY easy to use. I did not get a manual with the Neptune and I have managed to do eveything with it except change the temp from C to F, and use the night light. Both nothing that I care about. It was so easy to use that I self taught myself it on a 20 min call. And I still can't fiqure out how to work my Pro-Dytter to this day. It is that easy to use. I like the ability to set different altitudes not only for the 3 warnings, but also the ability to set pre-programed dive profiles. It was easy to set up the profiles, and I already have three set: Tandem, 4way, and RW. On the Tandem mode my first warning is at 6 grand, the second at 5, and the last at 2.5. The RW mode is set for regular RW dives. I have the first warning set at 4 grand, second at 2.5, and the third at 1.5. The 4way modes only difference is that I have the first alarm set at 3.5. All of these can be changed in a matter of seconds, and the bouns is that it records the TYPE of dive with it. So after a busy weekend I can look back and find out how many Tandems I did. Did I mention how easy this is to use? I know I am harping on it, but I am REALLY impressed with the user interface. The speeds at different altitudes is a great feature. I was showing my tandem passengers how fast we were going on my Neptune as I signed their logbooks...They really liked that info instead of just being told 120 MPH. The time and date stamp on the logs is really nice. And I have found myself looking at the thing as a watch while in the plane and on the DZ. All in all I am changing my position on the Neptune. I don't think there is anything wrong with the Pro-Track (Other than the user interface). But I am so impressed with the Neptune, and I feel that most of the bugs are now worked out that I will recomend them from now on. Both companies have good products, both companies have great customer service. I just think the Neptune is a better product for the following reasons: 1. EASY to use. 2. Dive Profiles that are easy to switch. 3. Logbook that records what profile you used with a time/date stamp. 4. Water proof for that occasional stupid human swoop trick. 5. Can be used as a visual or audible. I will admit that I don't have much time with a Pro-Track, but I do have about as much time with it as my new Neptune. Again just my opinion....But I like it. You have used your greenie powers to ban people instead of answering the questions they asked you. I have seen you be quicker to ban someone that you disagree with, than someone you agree with. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334 -

ALL politics is an oversimplification of a complex situation. Perception is reality. People don't have much use for more information than will fit into sound bites.... Spain gave into the terrorists....The terrorists wanted something, and they did things to get it, and they got what they wanted. Wrong... And its not the first time its happend... This time it did work. Edit to add a good set of quotes *** MADRID, Spain (CNN) -- A document published months before national elections reveals al Qaeda planned to separate Spain from its allies by carrying out terror attacks. "We think the Spanish government will not stand more than two blows, or three at the most, before it will be forced to withdraw because of the public pressure on it," the al Qaeda document says. "If its forces remain after these blows, the victory of the Socialist Party will be almost guaranteed -- and the withdrawal of Spanish forces will be on its campaign manifesto." It COULD have, but since AQ made a statement saying more would follow if Spain didn't remove its troops, and Anzar not planning on removing the troops. And then Anzar losing what was going to be a tight race. Well it looks like the population played right into AQ's plan. AQ had a plan...They put that plan into motion...They got the effect they wanted. AQ's plan worked. You allowed them to decide the future of your government. You traded your vote for a promise from a terrorist. This just renforces their position and makes them MORE likely to push you around. I think given the inteligence he had at the time it was the right move. And so did many Democrats INCLUDING Kerry,Gore. "We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country" --Gore, September 23,2003 "He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."--Sandy Berger, Feb 18, 1998. "Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime...now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued decit and his consistant grasp for weapons of mass destruction...So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real" --John F. Kerry, Jan 23, 2003. You are free to disagree...But most here thought he was a threat, and our congress gave Bush power to use force...Only in hindsite do they oppose his moves...They supported him until it was no longer popular to do so. No, but I don't have the luxury of knowing the future...I can only make choices based off of the intel I have...As Bush, Kerry, Gore, Clinton, Bergger all did. If we find more WMD's or we find he sold them to terroists...Would you admit it was the right thing to do? But it was still their plan, and it did work. Not that easy...You have to take into account the anger the US will have. any plan like that could backfire here in the US. I have no agenda. The US has agenda. And I think both canidates have the same agenda when it comes to terrorism...However I only think one will actually DO anything about it. No offense, but Spains support, while nice, was not really that much. I can understand you guys not wanting a guy that took you to war....Look here in the US..Same thing. Hell I didn't WANT to go to war, but I did see a need based on the intel at the time. But your elections were reported to be quite close till after the bomb attacks...then it was a landslide in favor of the guy that the terrorist wanted. What does that look like to you? I can understand that there were other factors...But can you see how it looks like you played right into the hands of the terrorists? Find me a guy that is trying to be like a hero..And then writes up his own awards and I will call him a medal hunter. I would not call just anyone that...But if the guy is clearly trying to get a medal you bet your ass I would. But you are just blindly defending your hero since you hate Bush so much. No it counts...but you must have missed this part of my last post: You defend him...And you plan on voting for him...What are you flipping and flopping now? Yep, I am also on record saying that I think many of his medals were "Questionable". I am also on record for hating the man for his not being able to make a choice and stick with it, and his switching sides whenever the polls say his opinion is unpopular. More than just foreign invaders...but also foreign attacks, and to protect our interests all over the world. Its never that simple Bill as one side bad, the other good. I can find MANY cases where settlers were attacked while they were minding their own business. Just as you can find cases of indians being attacked. I don't think thats the goal...But it has happened. So could the Romans. They won't...It's the nature of being a superpower.
