I have to say that was the best weekend I have had clothed in years. I ahve to tell you because my family and Wuffo friends just don't understand the pure joy of a bigway. I got out friday afternoon and studied for my B licence and got it. Saturday I went to Tony Demonico and Kate's 20-way camp and met Dave (aka Wingnut) and made 4 great 20-ways flying my slot well each time. Then I made my first 2 night jumps (definitely not my last). Then night ended with a bunch of drinking with Carl (DZbone), Anthony (Clubber), Kimmer, Michele, and Dave. I do have to say that the first hour of sunday sucked but nothing that asprin couldn't cure. Then 4 more 20-ways and top it off with a 35-way that actually built and turned a second point (with one wrong grip). Next a fun 4 way with Calr, anthony and Diver123 with Dave shooting video. It was not quite perfect. Then another mellow night at the DZ followed by two 7 ways this morning. I don't think that it could have gone any better, unless they let me into the 60 way camp in a few weeks. Hope you all had fun Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross

What is the result of the Cypres misfire?
Albatross replied to Michele's topic in Safety and Training
SO far we have gotten a loaner cypress from Airtek and a lot of nothing in the answers department. They have sent the unit to Germany and said that they are looking into it. I will see if I can did up anything else this week. Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross -
I still get to break in that A licence, Right? I am so happy for you. I am going to tell you this as a friend, but you have not even come close to seeing your limits. If you ever get a chance to see the potential and heart that you have you could rule the world. Much love! Chris Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross

OK. I like the idea of practicing the track because a good track will save your life. To help the flat track get the hips up into the slow fall position and press the hands down just below your hips and cup as much air as you can. For the jumps I thought that the atempts to sit fly and just the attempts to get unstable were great. I would stay away from trying to learn andturns because you won't have a reference and may ingrain bad habits. When are the Night pictures going to be up. Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross

We'll put you up in LA. We can jump both Elsinor and Perris Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross

Anyone who is going to be there tonight I need drinking buddies. My councilor told me that drinking alone is a bad thing. I'll have on a white KAMAN Shirt( With a Kickboxer on the back) and my little blue addidas hat. Got to take my damn b and c licence tests. See you this weekend. PARTY Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross

I'll hold on to the camera step!!! Shark do you think that we could convince the other otter to fly in formation. I mean we could have a 20 way on top of the girls! Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross

I love Jeanie but if I see her I am more likely to be trying to get the shirt off her back. That sounds bad. Looking forward to meeting all of you. I am going to be out Friday night to take my B and C test and Sat, Sun, nd maybe monday if the cash holds out. Michele knows me and I would like to meet you all. Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross

Michele that is exactly what I was thinking. Maybe a small base of say 6 with 3 experienced and 3 newbies. Say YOU, KIMMER, and GMAN or CLubber. Then the rest of us could fly in and make it a formation and maybe end with some kiss passes for the big day. Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross

Mouth lets try Lola's Martini Bar home of the original Apple Martini, Say Dukes for bar food and Mai Tais friday night with the barefoot bar on the beach to watch the sun set and MY BIRTHDAY PARTY that weekend the big 30. Clubber the 20 way camp is out for you but maybe we can put together an attempt on one of the late loads for all DZ.comers I ask Mark if he will help. It should be fun. Since I don't know the rules does a beer 10 way count? Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross

Step by step girl. It sounds like the ledgend of you is taking on a life of its own. We might have to get a 4-way team called Michele's fault. I am glad that the H&P went well for the two of you. The jump that Nelson got hurt on was a 5 way of DZ.com and that is the largest that I ahve seen. I am going to be at the 20 way camp so maybe that will get at least 8 of us up at the same time. Mouth you are welcome to come party with me in LA I make a great host and we can always party at night and jump all day. Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross

Hi Michele, The loading issue is one that has no clear lines but rather ranges and it differs for each canopy. For the most part 1.5 is heavy but that is really rough. Each canopy has a different range that it is designed to fly in at peak preformance and the FX and VX are going to fly best at much higher loadings than a spectre. You (given your conservative style under canopy) will probably like the preformance of something like a Spectre at about 1.0 when you feel comfortable flying a canopy that size. It should geve you powerful flare that will make the landing better but not be so touchy thatlittle wight shifts will affect the flight. Chris Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross

ok my chipping problem is gone but now......
Albatross replied to Viking's topic in Safety and Training
Closer yes to a relaxed arch. Try to get the feet above the knees and I think that you will feel better. Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross -

Albatross replied to Viking's topic in Safety and Training
Wow that is one hell of an arch. Try this to help both of yuor problems. Your legs are totally straight (unless you are tracking that is a bit odd) and you are compensating by lifting your head to keep from running over your instructor. This stiff lower body and strong opposing forces will cause you to chip if you are not extreemly arched. Get on the bed or floor in front of the mirror. Lie down and try to have your elbows and knees about shoulder width and level parallel to the ground. They should be 4-6 inches off the ground in your arch. Your head should be relaxed and this should not feel tense. Your feet should be above your knees (look from the side). This willgive you more stability with less arch and should slow you down alot. If you want a more indepth explanation try Skydive U basic body flight. Damn you are flexable!! Flare Damn it!!!!! Albatross
