There are a few independant riggers at Perris who can pack overnight or in two days if you make arragnements and they have the time. As for RW loads, Mark Brown and Darryl Light are both LOs with a lot of experience and usually have 4-8 ways going up often larger. Let us know when you are out and maybe some of us will be there. I will tell you that I am 6'1" and about 170lbs with a 32 in inseam and I have a C17 javelin J-3 and it fits well. Some containers like the WIngs that come in 17.5 in also fit well. God bless us and God Bless America Albatross

Totally backing PhreeZone on this one. I have 170 jumps and will have 220+ by the end of the month and am dying to get my hands on a Cobalt but not yet. It is too much canopy for a new jumper. You will be fine in the calm air even in wind, but landing in turbulence and traffic might cause a problem because it is very responsive. Unless you can nail a landing on your current canopy in a 8-10 mph downwind every time, stay where you are. Ihave seen too many people rush to down size or move to higher preformance canopies or just get lazy and break bones, LOTS OF THEM. Be conservative when you change canopies. If you zoom by think of driving. You would never hit the gas then the brakes at the last second. try the START COAST STOP Method. I always find that I coast much farther than I think and that my momentum carries forever. This was especially apparent when I did CREW. God bless us and God Bless America Albatross

Since I amaCalifoniajumper the coldest weather that I have ahd to dealwith is the occational 55 deg cold snap and some ice during freefall. What do you whojumpin cold weather do for gloves and foot warmth. How do you deal with the ballence of warmth and feelin your hands? God bless us and God Bless America Albatross

Agreed your pull altitude is you decision and yours alone. If you don't like the altitude on a jump the others should be willing to honor that as long as it is not higher than the accepted deployment altitude at your DZ. Makeing you go low is just asking for trouble I mean what do they know about your canopy and how it behaves. Be safe control your own destiny. God bless us and God Bless America Albatross

While this is not a perminant solution you might try the two stage flare. By slowly bringing the toggles down to half breaks about 15' up you slow your rate of decent and give yourself a much larger "window" to correctly flare in. Also if you do mistime the flare and are late you are at helf breaks to begin with. The other thing is to really practice at altitude and see where the canopy stalls and how much time it takes. It is hard to get an exact distance but it is a painless start. God bless us and God Bless America Albatross
