  1. I didnt pull the reserve, the RSL did. But thats not what I did wrong! Go back to your convertions to BOC from SOS and you will have the answer! IF FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, DON'T TRY SKYDIVING!
  2. I started my AFF's when the WOrld meet was on in Australia. Also at my DZ in Sydney, it poored for 6 weekends in a row so there was no jumping for anyone. I went through my AFF's pretty quickly and it all came down to a couple of things. Being relaxed, trusting the AFF instructors and being aware of the fact that I myself into this and only I can get myself out. My Aff instructors are very kewl people and it was easy to relax with these guys. Before you gear up next time, go somewhere were there is peace and quiet and go through the jump in your head. Be sure of every movement you are doing in the air. Then after a few deep breaths, get into it and learn as much as you can. Hope this helps Harro IF FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, DON'T TRY SKYDIVING!
  3. I have had problems with my sit before this incident so I had borrowed someones sit suit. After a very easy sit jump I tracked and dumped. At this stage I was flying a sabre 190 with RSL. After the initial snatch, I looked up too see half of my canopy inflated and the other all messed up in a nice array of canopy and lines. I started the flat spin thing as I was about too cut away. I cut, check left riser, check right riser and I was still in a flat spin. Now the next few seconds felt like 2 minutes, I look up and there is one fully inflated canopy ( reserve ) and a main trailing behind. It looked like as the reserve was deploying from the cut away of the main, the pilot chute had gone through the lines of the main and the reserve deployed and inflated with the main wrapped around it. At this stage my thoughts were : " here I am...I am about too die " After making about 2 - 3 spins of sheer panic I had decided to make one last final attempt of getting my life back. I looked at my right riser ( I was spinning to the left ) grabbed it and gave it one of the biggest pulls to get it back on track. At 1500 feet I stopped the flat spin, 1000 feet the main came down the lines of the reserve and landed about 5 kms away from DZ. I know what I did wrong, do you ? 6. I work with computers on a helpdesk for CSC, AND without fail, at least once per day I have a skydiving question that comes my way. I love it ! I get the stupid questions coming through but I believe that if I can answer them with confidence and accuracy they might one day try it. Questions like " How can you jump out of a perfectly safe plane " Is easily answered by " there is no such thing as a safe plane" Every plane has at least one chance of going in! 7. I have just got Mediastudio 6 and its the best from the ULEAD collection of software packages. I have played with ULEAD's studiovideo 5 and its good but only has 1 video line, 1 Title lin, a sound track line and a voice over line. In Media studio 6 you have 4 lines for video, 4 for special effects.... you know where Im going with this. Goto www.ulead.com and have a look around. If its a little too expesive there try some australian software sites and you will pick up a bargin IF FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, DON'T TRY SKYDIVING!

Has anyone seen an older rig with tie dye on it? If you had the option of a clean coloured rig and a rig with tie dye on it, which would you choose?

  17. Opens on heading just fine. Just a bit worried that I might be doing something which might be wrong.
  18. I had a very big problem with my sabre 190 with very hard openings. I was told by a jumper at my local DZ that rolling the slider into the tail roll will slow my openings. I have tried this and have not had a problem since. My question is......is this a common practise or is there any problem with this technique?
  19. OZ IT geek here. The people I jump with in Picton seem all too be in some IT related job.
